What do you think of the New Horizons house compared to previous versions, and why? Personally, I like that total cost is cheaper than New Leaf, and you don't lose that much floor space for the drop in price. Also, the house exterior upgrades are much more realistic, which I prefer.

i’m a little disappointed by the lack of being able to expand the other rooms, to be honest - it kind of sucks that their size is so small compared to other versions. i hope we’ll be able to expand them sometime in the future

I really liked my house, and I wasn't too upset by the size of the additional rooms UNTIL I learned that you can't place "large" rugs in the add-on rooms because the rooms are too small. Other than that, I really like the small rooms, I like that I can get a cozier feel without placing too many items and making the rooms overcrowded.

I also like the exterior a lot, although I know you can remodel once you reach a certain point in the game. I might just keep mine the way it is, I like it so much :p

I sort of understand, but is 6x6 rooms really that much smaller than 8x8? And the basement and second floor are big rooms at 10x6.

i havent gotten all rooms, but i definitely prefer the cozier small size. it helps i am also a MUCH bigger fan of the furniture selection in this game than any previous animal crossing, so maybe thats why i'm so content with the house. i do wish we could change our door though.

it’s not that big of a difference, it just kinda sucks that they were downgraded a bit aha

i dont understand why the attic is shaped the way it is. i was so excited to put my bedroom up there, then i log into the game and see that. it's gonna be difficult to make the room work, but i've no idea what else to put up there.

at first i was all for this house change, but now im rethinking my position on this issue. it's not necessarily a bad thing that they're limiting us, but the fact that other things arent as limited in this game makes me a bit upset.

i still love my house because it represents all the hours ive played this game, grinding bells to upgrade it. im just a bit peeved and kinda hung up on the what could have beens.

Yeah, I've noticed people think bigger is better. What about 10x6 vs 8x8 rooms?

10x6 is a nice change but i’m content with 8x8 rooms,, i feel like 10x6 would be a bit too much space for me and i’d be kinda scrambling to find extra items to fill the space but i could make it work, i’d just have to get creative lol

I hope they add in the ability to change the shape and size of the rooms like in HHD (or at least make them bigger like in previous AC games), but I also hope it's optional. I like having certain rooms smaller, and I always hated being forced to upgrade them in order to have access to more options.

I'd also like them to add more exterior customization options. It's pretty limited right now, and I miss some of the cooler ones from New Leaf. I also hoped they'd add some of the new ones from HHD too. I really wanted that mushroom house.

I'm happy that we don't have to pay an exorbitant amount just to upgrade them from 6x6 to 8x8. Honestly being able to place furniture outside has taken the sting out a little. I don't need to find room in my house for every little thing I want to display now that I can put stuff outside.

Here's a question for you guys!
When people say no house exterior options, do they mean no castle / zen / mansion / etc. or that you can't pick a different colour / style? I really had my heart set on a log cabin for my witch character!

Well, some stuff. I wouldn't put a toilet outside, lol (well, maybe as a joke).

i don’t mind having smaller side rooms - it makes it easier to design rooms like kitchens/bathrooms/basements etc but i still think it should be an option to expand every room if the player wants to. im sure they will add it in through an update or something!

I like smaller rooms so I don’t mind. I don’t need a very very large bathroom lol. In any case, it would’ve been perfect if were given the option to choose sizes we want for each particular room.

Quick question, for those with fully upgraded houses. Do you lose the windows if you fully expand your house just like in NL? Or do you get to keep it?

i think u can still get ur log cabin. u know how u can change the outside of ur house in acnl?? like changing it to a brick or stone house? u can do that but u cant change ur house shape. i think. idk yet as i havent seen it myself but i have googled it and that's what various sites said.

lmao

Hey I've heard that using the toilet can get rid of unwanted food buffs (or was that de-confirmed?). But in all seriousness, I have room for a toilet and other functional items inside because I can put decorative items outside. I don't need a room to display Backyard stuff or Zen Garden stuff; I can put them outside in my actual yard.

no u can still use it to get rid of the food buff. i used to think it wasnt handy until i accidentally obliterated one of my rocks forgetting i had it on me. rest in pieces my rock 3-20-2020 to 3-22-2020.

For some reason the wallpaper in this game totally changes the windows of the room as well. Some wallpapers just get rid of it altogether, which is really annoying because, there are nice wallpapers, but they don't come with windows. I would've preferred wallpapers didn't affect the house so much
