New Villagers/Special Characters!

In this reddit post (and this tweet), it shows a Switch sticker was revealed featuring new villagers and special characters!

I cut out all the new characters I can find (plus another player picture) and put them here, hope I didn't miss any:

What do you think of these new characters? The purple bear, blue goat, blue-grey cat, and pink/blue cub especially catch my eye, and I think the red character at the bottom with the black net looks really cool!

From this, it appears we have a new turnip character, so I’m assuming Joan has an apprentice or is retired. I wonder if the red lizard character is replacing Nat or if we actually have a new villager type this time.

I think the boar baby might me Joan’s granddaughter that is getting to know the turnip business. Super cute!

I can’t figure out what kind of animal the red one with the net is meant to resemble. It looks like a Pok?mon to me and I don’t really like it’s design. Also, is that a yellow perch on the picture with the beaver character or a new kind of fish?

Also, it appears that Wisp is going to be a ghost again and not a genie.

It appears people clamoring for new villagers will be happy about that one. Smug cat characters? It seems possible now.

Looks like Nintendo retired the older characters like Joan, Chip, and Nat (that were depicted as old in the game) to introduce new younger characters replacing them ? I do think the red lizard character is not a villager, but a service-related character because he is holding a bug net.

Also, with all these characters now confirmed, I’m starting to worry Rover might not be around this time. He usually is apart of Nintendo’s marketing efforts - it seems suspicious to me that he is not a part of these stickers while much less important ones like Labelle or Wisp are. But, so isn’t Leif, and I’d be shocked if Leif was left out...

It looks like there's 2 Dodos. They might be brothers or night and day like phyllis and pelly!

I can't figure out what exactly the red one is xD but I do love the horse and the wolf. The little bear is cute as well!

The dodos are quite clearly the seaplane's pilot and copilot, that takes you to the island and also takes you to other people's islands and such.

I think this goat design looks much cuter and more goatlike than the the current goat characters and I love goats. I also love that color of blue so I definitely want that villager!

I think the weird red pokemon is indeed a lizard judging by the curled tail. Could be a frilled neck lizard or something.

I’m still shocked they added new villagers!! Whatttt. Way to reveal it on a freaking switch cover though, come on. The new NPCs look really interesting. It seems a lot of them could be little kids or family members of our current NPC, like little Joan and little Chip. Can’t wait to see alpaca babies :O

The turnip-bearer Joan successor kinda looks more like a duckling than a boar, don't you think? The yellow looks like a beak.

EDIT: on a closer inspection, it looks like a snout with two holes, but more pig-like than boar-like with the coloration and shape. Hmmm!

I was hoping they’d just bring older villagers back, like some of the e+ villagers. But I’m happy with any new content! Most people were just worried about no new villagers because of the lack of information coming out so close to release... but damn, what a way to tease the fans.

They sure are teasing us!!!
They'll definitely bring back ALL the characters, all the data for them is there so all they had to do was just update them and implement them ⸌̷̻ ( ᷇๑ॢ˃̶͈̀ ꇴ ˂̶͈́๑ॢ) ⸌̷̻
Plus, why not? They might as well. Any villager that isn't currently on our island doesn't take up any space so it should be cool ☆
They said in their survey they'd bring back all villagers do they just need to show us the pudding that is the proof hehe (◍︎˃̶ᗜ˂̶◍︎)✩︎

The red lizard character looks like he could be a Texas horned lizard possibly? Hoping we get a new species but I'm guessing hes just going to do the bug competition since NPCs that are in charge of different events/areas seem to be the only ones holding items

The red wolf looks like she could kill me with a single glance and I love her already. But the cat with two different eyes looks cute!

Okay, now THIS made my day. First of all, I need that grumpy looking cat and the orange/red-ish wolf on my island immediately. They are already my favorites without even know their names or personalities (hope they are Smug and Uchi). Second, the new NPCs are really interesting, in particular the turnip seller and the lizard (?). Also, the two dodo guys kinda reminding me of Chick and Stew from Crash Tag Team Racing.

Now I hope there will be more new villagers/NPCs. My hype is bigger than ever right now.
