That's okay I guess. I kinda wish Nintendo would stop being isolationists and accept Spotify or YouTube. (Now they have even more reason to attack YouTube channels).
I have a base membership plan so I might as well get more use out of it. I don't mind this.
I did download the app and messed with it a bit, and it is nice! Definitely unfortunate it's pretty bare bones in terms of the game soundtracks on there at the moment, but I do appreciate Nintendo finally giving us an official way to play these soundtracks. I doubt I'll actually use it that much, though, since it's a lot more convenient to listen to these tracks on my laptop through YouTube, lol.
So I downloaded Nintendo Music to my phone. I have to agree that there aren’t much. But at least it has the soundtracks from Super Mario Galaxy and Ocarina of Time. Still waiting on Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and Diddy Kong Racing though.
Probably didn't really need to exist unless they were to weaponise it against things like Youtube and other unofficial methods of listening to Nintendo music. I did download it tho and it's nice I suppose for what it is, I think it'd be cool if they released more soundtracks as vinyls/CDs etc. so things like that are more accessible.
Swear I heard someone either speculating or saying they’d heard whisperings about this a couple of days back, so it’s weird to see it actually be a thing… but damn, they really announced an alarm clock, THREE NSO Expansion Pack updates, the first Wii U port in just over 4 years and this before they announced the Switch successor.
It’s not everything and they’ve clearly got plans to steadily dripfeed more stuff over a long period of time, again (gotta keep people subscribed to NSO, after all)… but it’s a decent mix of stuff that’s been previously released on CD (like most of the Switch titles on offer, Super Mario Galaxy, the two N64 titles and some of the NES and SNES titles) and stuff that’s never been rereleased in full before (Nintendogs and the freakin’ Wii menu music).
It’s nice to have, but I’m not really a “streaming music” guy, more of a “download music online and put it onto a MP3 Walkman” guy, so I’ve already got a lot of what’s on offer.
Anyway: Switch 2 announcement tonite queen? Or a Wooly World port, at the very least?

I agree it definitely needs to be expanded upon some more but I could see myself using this, especially since you can download things for offline listening. I'm also a big fan of the extend button so you can loop the track for however long you like. I really hope they add the music for the rest of the Animal Crossing series.

i will say i appreciate it because i never learned the titles of majority of the game soundtracks..... and i dont have youtube premium so nintendo music gives me the option to be able to close my phone while still playing music. wish everything was just on spotify so i can have everything in one music app but i guess i'll just get used to two music apps then
I honestly think it's pointless to download it when we already have YouTube to listen to official Nintendo soundtracks, where it already has much more than what Nintendo seems to offer, I'm not downloading the app whatsoever.
