Nintendo Network and eShop are down...

I'm not even able to connect to the Internet with the Switch. Like it's not even detecting my Wi-fi and when I try to connect I get DNS Server errors. Are you experiencing the same?

AC is such a popular franchise that I imagine Nintendo will do everything in its power to fix this issue before its launch

May be due to server updates related to animal crossing... maybe. I dont think it will last 3 days c:

I wonder whats going on? Usually they announce servers going down and they aren't for this long iirc. Something may be up internally.

My Switch connects to the internet (I can see my friends list and add people) but I just can’t play online. The DNS error code pops up when a game tries to connect online. I thought it was just me but I guess all the servers are down. The multiplayer patch for ACNH is going to be available on the 19th, and it’s supposed to download automatically for digital users ahead of launch... so surely it will be fixed soon enough!

Kind of sad that I’m realizing how many of my favourite games need an online component. I should play some of my offline games during this downtime lol.

I think it may be due to a lot more people going online these days.

I read an article about how Steam broke it's record for most active users at one time the other day. (I think it was over 20 million users at once)

I guess it might be too late at this point but if you haven't already and you're getting digital, it might be a good idea to pre download it sooner rather than later. (assuming online comes back before the 20th) I could see the service being hit pretty hard on launch day.

If you PC game at all, epic game stores give away free games each week.

I know some people don't like Epic Game stores that much, but honestly right now I bet those free games would be really appreciated.

Right now I'm playing one of the free games called "Mutazione". It's sort of like a slice of life/gardening point and click game where you travel to an island village and you play music to grow plants and create gardens. It's really laid back.

There's also another free game called "A Short Hike" and I think it must have been inspired by Animal Crossing because it has a similar vibe. You play as a bird and you go on a hike and help other animals along the way.

Ooo y'know what, this makes sense. With the self quarantining situation I could see a lot more people spending time to play video games and the likes.

I'm now able to connect but I needed to change the Primary DNS manually and that was never the case before.
So now I see some of my friends online but the e-shop still won't work.

I checked on the Nintendo site and there’s a scheduled maintenance for March 17 7-9 PM Pacific.

Hope the maintenance evens it all out, I can see why w/ all the current chaos at the moment why there might be a LOT more online players. I remain hopeful that we can still enjoy pre-loaded ACNH : ) *crosses fingers*

Even my normal internet all over is acting up, wondering if this is due to mass activity or just coincidence? Only select sites too.

oof I hope they fix this soon! I canceled my physical preorder yesterday because I decided to buy the digital version instead....yikes

Yeah both of my Switches wouldn't connect or transfer saves until just a few minutes ago.

I was planning to transfer everything over to my new AC Switch today and pre-install the game. Hopefully they get it fixed pretty soon.

I thought it might have had to do with the indie direct or they’re just having problems. I’m almost positive it’ll be fixed by tonight, honestly.
