A long time ago, Nintendo still had the GCN as their main home console. Nowadays, that focus has shifted towards the Wii, and for good reason; it's time to move on, seeing as the Gamecube is reaching the end of its life. But in my opinion, what Nintendo is doing right now isn't right at all... They have a good amount of Gamecube projects that were announced, but at this year's E3, almost nothing was said about the Gamecube, let alone such titles as Kirby GCN. What's going on?
Are they supporting the Gamecube, or are they only giving it a couple of games to finish everything up? This is a question that keeps bothering me... Nintendo is almost neutral when it comes to this matter. They're supporting the GCN, and at the same time, they're not. Makes me wonder if a lot of the games that have yet to come out for the GCN were moved to the Wii... Or maybe even DS. And surely, Nintendo is hinting at the fact that they think the GCN is dead; really, releasing Twilight Princess in GCN form only in North America, and forcing the rest of the world to play the Wii version? What is the deal with THAT?
I don't know, maybe I'm overreacting, but I seriously think the GCN still has the potential to be, err, alive. I mean, the PS2 will still be supported [for a year] after the PS3 will be released, so why can't Nintendo do the same with the Wii and GCN? Sure, it's difficult to have two different consoles on the market and developing software for both, but Nintendo should at least have their fans "in the know" and tell them the truth; what happened to all these in development GCN titles, and what's going on with the good ol' GCN in general?
Is anyone else pondering over all of these questions? What do YOU think about this whole ordeal?
