I'm playing in the southern hemisphere and it's currently heading into summer on my island (and irl), for some reason it doesn't feel right to be using a ton of all the illuminated decorations like I've seen a lot of other people doing on their islands and tbh I'm not much of a holiday decorator in general so I've basically changed nothing on my island in preparation for christmas
is anyone else not decorating for christmas?? what are your reasons? is it aesthetics or are you also playing in summer for christmas?
I’m in the same boat as a lot of people here: SH doesn’t really lend itself to the traditional Christmas decorations, so I’m going rather light outdoors (except for illuminated reindeer, but those stay year-round lol). In my lodge, I’m adding more festive decorations as it already has a cozy fall/winter feel.
i would love to decorate for the holidays, but i don't celebrate christmas.... (would really love some hanukkah decorations, nintendo!) but since i'm not christmas decorating, i'm just trying to give my island a nice overall winter aesthetic.
i grew up on a tropical island in southern hemisphere so yeah we put a lot of christmas decoration but now that I am living in europe, I prefer christmas with snow, it fits better i think, at least for me ^^
I'm in the NH, but I don't want Christmas decorations on my island. I'm just not into them and I feel like it would be extra work to decorate and then tear it down again after Christmas.
I thought I wasn't going to go overboard for Halloween, then I did. I thought I would be wresting haliween outfits all year round, yet here I am embracing the changing seasons and rearranging the island constantly in winter clothes. It feels weird going to a sh island and seeing Christmas decorations, but I can understand your thinking I think.
