Opinions on Crafting

I like it A LOT but wish you could craft things in bulk. I also see why people don't like it but personally I think its an awesome new feature.

I actually really love it. More than I thought I would.

I really really love it to be honest. But it also needs some improvements. Building directly from storage would be nice, among other things.

I'm a bit disappointed in how few items you are able to customize, and to what extent. I think we should have Cyrus-like abilities if he's not going to be in the game.

I think crafting is really fun. I don't hord my crafting materials though. I only keep them in groups of 30 and I sell the rest or gift them to friends when they need it. I am dealing with a bit of a wood shortage, but I fixed that with two island tours so I'm ready for any new upgrades the game is going to throw at me.

I really love finding DIY bottles. I have only had two repeat recipies and I could even wrap them up and share them with my husband if it was a recipie that he didn't have! I'm really glad they added that.

The only thing that is slightly annoying is that I wish we could craft multiples. Like when I'm making fishing bait after I go clamming.

Aw Meggiewes that's so lovely to hear about you sharing resources and DIY recipes :) That is what I love about the Animal Crossing Community :) It's so helpful :)

I'm enjoying it quite a lot but I think there is room for a few improvements.

-Crafting in Bulk
-Utilizing materials even when they are in storage
-More ways to get recipes

I really hope there are recipes for Silver or Golden tools that do not break, even if they have ridiculous ingredient requirements.

i like it! i just wish i didn’t have to constantly craft tools lmao

tbh i can dig it! if there were more customizable recipes and the ability to craft things in bulk, on top of more ... DURABLE tool recipes, then i'd love it.

i thought it was fun at first but now it's just annoying tbh... the materials take up too much space in your inventory and can't be used while in storage, and you can't craft in bulk, and being in the middle of something and being brought to a halt because your fishing rod or net or something broke makes the game less relaxing :( i will admit i like being able to customize furniture myself and have it be done in an instant, and i like finding DIY recipes from messages in bottles, but i wish the whole feature was a little more optional.

I like the idea of it but I think NH could've implemented it a lot better. We should be able to craft multiple things at once and pull from our storage instead of our pocket when crafting in our house.

i've been excited for it from the start, and i'm still happy with it now. gathering materials isn't as hard as i thought it would be, maybe iron and stone are a bit hard to come by. i feel like just regular wood (not hard or soft) is also a bit difficult to come by compared to the other types for some reason, but that may just be the fact that it's used more often. i was also worried about fence crafting, but since one craft makes 10 fences it's not too bad. overall, this is a really cool feature and i hope to collect all the recipes at some point.

I love crafting furniture, but hate having to craft tools. The furniture is so cute! But having to make 2-5 shovels, axes, fishing rods and nets per day is beyond annoying. (I go through a lot of tools because I'm isolated at home so am spending a lot of time on the game).

I also desperately wish there was a way to craft multiples. I have tendonitis in one elbow and had to stop playing for the day after crafting 50 fish bait, because pressing the same button over and over was making my arm so painful.

It’s...ok. Gathering materials to craft furniture is fun, but making tools is a chore. And the materials take up way too much space in my inventory

Also I REALLY need to be able to craft things in bulk. Making a bunch of fish bait is annoying

Going into the game I thought that I was going to hate it but overall it's not that bad.

I don't like the fact that tools break so quickly. I'm a big fisher and I've found myself having to build a new fishing rod multiple times per day which is annoying. I also was not a fan of crafting furniture for the first three villager move ins.

However, I'm having a lot of fun crafting furniture and customizing it for my house. I also really like finding the message bottles with DIY recipes. I think they're so cute!

Posted this on a different thread, but when tools are customized, their hit count resets and they act like new. So you can have a tool last forever if you customize it when you are nearing the hit limit of a tool breaking. You can do this an infinite amount of times (seems to the the case at the moment) However, the downside is that customization kits cost 600 bells each (3,000 for a bundle of 5) if you run out of the ones Tom Nook gave you initially. Axes also cannot be customized for some bizarre reason (at least the standard iron one, not sure about golden).

loved it, now hate it. the tool breaking thing would make more sense if this were a survival game, but it's meant to be a casual life sim and seems out of place for such a game. it's totally deterred me from fishing or bug hunting, i just don't have the energy to keep recrafting tools. it's a shame because that was once of my fave passtimes

i'm not a fan of all of the furniture sets being yeeted for the sake of crafted furniture either. wouldn't care as much if diy furniture wasn't so dull aesthetically, everything has to keep the motif of the material it was made out of: rock; clay; etc. and i just find it to be really bland

It was cool and interesting at first, especially with the furniture and DIYs and such, but later on it started becoming tedious and annoying due to the tools breaking. I honestly wish there was some sort of durability bar or something that shows when the tool is about to break because I am worried I'm going to be hitting rocks and suddenly my shovel breaks.

I understand that it's not a survival game but I do like these new features. I wouldn't even mind if they bought in cooking and eating recipes.

Trashpedia - a durability bar would be so useful! Especially when you log the next day like "Hmmmm which tool was I using?"
