Opinions on TT in this game?

I don't TT myself, but I do watch a streamer who TT when she missed a day on stream. Of course, she lets her chat vote on it first (they nearly always vote yes). That way she can play other games on stream and still play the entire day by day for AC on stream too.

The only way I get annoyed by it is if someone does it and then just really shows off everything on their island in a super aggressive way. That is just showy. But people who TT because it is fun to them are fine in my book.

I personally only time traveled on day 1 to unlock the airport to play with friends, but except for that, I've been TT free. Finding this game's a lot more enjoyable rather than TTing constantly like in NL.
One the debate of TT/no TT, I personally don't care how people play their game, if they have fun that way, who am I to spoil it for them?

Tbh I really could care less about TT as long as people are honest about it and don't act like they got a lot of items without TT. I only TT'ed once to get the museum done but never did after that. And honestly, with the slow pacing of the game, I can really understand why people do it, but it's just not my thing.

game is slow to start and bland once it warms up, not surprised so many people are resorting to tt. i used to adamantly avoid tting, but the game is so frustratingly devoid of anything to pass the time that tt almost feels like a necessity. hunting and crafting with nothing else to do gets dull fast

I reset on day 3 and TT'd to get back to real-time, otherwise I won't TT at all.

people should do whatever makes them most enjoy the game. some are not going to enjoy the slow start, other people like taking it one day at a time. it's getting pretty exhausting watching ppl endlessly debate time traveling and tters and non-tters being hostile to eachother - it's a single player game made for kids, it does not matter what others do to make their game more enjoyable

It's all about your own playstyle!!!
Personally I am able to balance TTing and still being engaged in the game rather well c:
Since I'm stuck at home all day because of the corona virus making my classes online and what not I have been playing acnh nonstop and that lead me to TT way more than I planned on. However now that I unlocked the shops and what not I'm going to take it day by day and work on terraforming my town!!! I have BIG plans c:

There has been A LOT of hostility towards us TTers however across all platforms and it sucks :c we are the ones providing answers and reassuring a lot of the players who are taking the natural/slower pace but getting ridiculed for being ahead :c everyone should be allowed to play the game however they want without being shunned by the entire community. I mean... some players won't even let anyone who TTs into their town??

Some of my friends dont like that I time travel but will go to one of our friends who picked the southern hemisphere's island to collect all the bugs/fish ahead of time and dont see that as jumping ahead and it's annoying how hypocritical it is imo

I think some people are way too concerned about what others do in a non-competitive, single player game. I will genuinely never understand it.

I tt and make zero apologies for doing so.

idc what anyone does tbh. i dont tt just because i'd like to just keep it with something new to do everyday. however ive seen a couple tters complaining that there isn't anything to do after they finished which shouldve been an obvious consequence of rushing. again to each their own

I don't TT but don't mind people who do it!! I just like having something new to do every day.

I don't time travel myself, but if that's how others want to enjoy the game, that's entirely their choice. I think it's best if everyone is having fun in their own way. Some people in this community seem to feel that just because someone doesn't want to time travel in their own game, that they also are somehow attacking anyone who does? I haven't really encountered too many non-time travelers here that would step forward and attack time travelers. And it goes both ways, truly. Just because someone has a different idea about their own personal playstyle doesn't mean they are automatically attacking yours. It's all okay~

I think people who get worked up about the decision to do either have a deeper issue that needs to be addressed.

I've yet to TT in New Horizons and in New Leaf I only TTd on my main town within the same day, mostly cos I sometimes only have time to play in the middle of the night.

That said, I have better thing to waste my energy on than being annoyed about what others to with their game. Especially when it doesn't affect me whatsoever. You do you, I do me, as long as we both enjoy the game it's all good.

I don't time travel. And I don't care if other people do.
If Nintendo wanted us to have the terraforming tool (which I REALLY want right now currently don't have) from the beginning they would have made it available at the beginning instead of you having to do stuff to earn it. Too me, it's more rewarding to earn the tools and whatever instead of manipulating the game to get something faster without earning it. And I am an impatient person. But I also don't think time travelers are cheaters. I mean, Animal Crossing isn't really a competitive game, so the time travelers are only cheating themselves out of the experience of playing the game the way it was intended but that's in no way cheating other players. So I don't think they deserve the hate they get, not by no means. It's their game and their experience with the game, and they should not be raged at or lectured to about how they play.

It's a video game, for crying out loud, it's not that serious.

Time travelers and daily players are equally valid!!

Time traveling never ruined the fun for me, but in New Leaf, it was pretty much either I get burnt out from TTing or I miss a couple of days trying to play daily and lose all motivation, it was pretty much lose-lose for me xD

But with New Horizons not only do I want to avoid burnout, but I feel more confident in my ability to keep up with it daily. Especially since I have a lot of irl friends who I cant visit due to current events, and a lot of them have New Horizons as well so we play and talk about the game together. It's so much more enjoyable for me playing daily when I have others to experience it with.

A part of me wished I could've TTd to get the museum, because admittedly, waiting for that was really annoying. But other than that, I've been really patient with this game! I'm excited to take it easy and finally try my hand at the stalk market

This is my first time playing Animal Crossing without time traveling. And honestly? It feels nice to have something to wake up to like that! A nice little surprise. I get actually excited to see what changed overnight. To see what new villager is coming. What new building is here. A new visitor. It's nice!

A few of my friends time travel. And that's okay! I don't mind. Just play how ya wanna and have fun!

I TT but I don't do it excessively. Some are wild that I just find it hard to believe how they do it. I've visited islands that are already on developing stages and already ahve terraforming unlocked. I have gotten overwhelmed a bit with some TTing I've done that I've been asking myself ehat should I do first. But right now I'm taking it slower and leaving the days go by as in real life.

I have played in real-time since release. No interest in TT, I like waiting for things to unlock. I've been having fun visiting people online and shopping/crafting gifts/leaving board messages.

There's plenty to keep me occupied, thankfully.

I TT'ed a lot in New Leaf but only after I played for like a year. I was kinda bored and TTing helped me get some stuff that was missing (bugs, fish, PWPs, moving out villagers that I didn't like and getting dreamies, etc).

So far, haven't had the urge to TT in New Horizons. It feels good to play the game at a slow pace. I also didn't use any hacks like the duping hack (that I did a lot in New Leaf to dupe furniture sets and hybrids). But honestly, I don't have the time that I had back then lol
So playing a little bit everyday has been more enjoyable for me.

I see nothing wrong with time traveling as long as you don't go out of your way to spoil people who don't want to see certain parts of the game yet. People will say it's a bad way to play, it's cheating, you'll get bored quickly, etc. It all depends on the person. I never played day by day in New Leaf and it took me 5 years to get bored of the game. I always wished I could play the "fair" way, but I just couldn't. I'm a very impatient person and unlocking stuff right away is simply how I enjoy the game.

I've time traveled about 3 weeks in New Horizons so far, but only because I wanted to unlock terraforming and the shops. I needed terraforming because I'm very indecisive and have to start working on my layout asap. I'm now caught up with the current date and I'm going to try to stop time traveling from this point on. Not sure if I'm gonna stick with it, but I'm gonna try my best!
