Mafia Papers Please Mafia: Game Over, Town Wins!

Any opinions you may have Daniel? We haven't heard anything from you up til now.

What should we call you? Kat, Sarasa, SarasaKat, Scum Mom, or Glorious Arstotzkan. Or anything really haha
What are your preferred pronouns? She/her
What is your time zone? EST
What is your name? Katerina (mainly go by Kat tho)
What is your quest? TO CATCH THEM IS MY REAL QUEST. TO TRAIN THEM IS MY CAUSE.
What is the average airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? oVER 9000!

@Luca Sorry bae I don't want to be mean but such is life in Glorious Arstotzka[\s] mafia. Knowing your mistakes is the 1st step towards getting better :)

I really like Sataric's reads post, but I'd like her reads on Tom especially out of the three of us w/o reads yet.

I also don't know how much I want a policy lynch day 1, as it will just waste what we can make of this day time that we have to actually figure out something. All we get from Trojan's lynch is the people who suggested it and didn't suggest it.
You, Sarasa and Sataric all talk big on not wanting to policy lynch but you all continue to fail and bring up names to lynch. Day one is a ****show, the chances of us legitimately nailing scum is weak and any cases today will continue to be weak or based off meta.

kek
That wasnt really what I was trying to say though. You kinda were like "QT?" in thread and she was like "nah" and if her excuse was worrying about a silver tounge then that worries me b/c that shows a unwillingness to look at new perspectives.

And what would we do D2 if we policy? Im assuming this would mean we have no real D1 leads and the lynch wouldn't tell us anything b/c its policy. We'd just be pushing D1 back and be in a similar situation that we're rn, which hell lets policy lynch again damn those inactives untill mafia snipes us off one by one

Yeah if you can't tell I've had bad experiences with policy.
I mean i think it's obvious a lot of people are going to stick to their own perspective, I expect to but heads with a few players over tunneling and minor things that ultimately contribute nothing to our end goal of sussing out hostiles.

D2 will be ultimately different because we will have night actions to go off of and votes and posts to comb through much more closely. Ultimately while we can all agree to policy lynch the town idiots, the discussion does not need to revolve around it much like you, Sataric and Ness all seem to be focusing on. If you're that concerned about this being just a policy lynch, may I suggest looking for people to make a case on then? :)

Oh and Tom, why didn't you include Trundle, doughssant , or Luca in your policy list? dough always seems to get mk'd and Trundle kinda was bluh last game until like D4 where he was finally assed to make a case and the OMGUS is strong with Luca and he apparently doesn't know how to make a defense.
Trundle is a useful idiot, who can typically contribute something which is why I didn't include him. I suspect he's playing town idiot to either continue flying under the radar or because he's going to claim busy with computer science. Doughssant was going to be in that list, but I wholeheartedly expect them to do something stupid and get banned allowing Dad or somebody else to join us. Luca contributes somewhat as well, but much like Runeraider they lurk a lot.

First off, I don't understand why people were bashing Trojan, don't distract town on something that can't be changed anymore(him playing this game.)

Secondly, I don't like it when people are asking for pms. You really only want people who you can trust to pm you and pm and people you want to work with/interrogate. If you're not in a pm ring, good, it's too early to form them.

I do have some questions I'd like for you guys to answer to help me write reads and stuff. No need to answer them though.
What should we call you?(nicknames)
What are your preferred pronouns? prevents awkward confusion if I accidently miss pronoun you.
What is your time zone?
1) Trojan is an awful player who needs to step his game up and clearly the fact he's choosing not to ****post indicates to me a change in behavior so far, one that is good enough for me to feel confident in actually lynching him and not regretting it. The Trojan I've played with would have laughed the vote off or spammed nonsense about someone being scum without any reasoning.
2) FORM A PM CIRCLE WITH PM KAWAII DESU

1) Tom, the Silver Tongue
2) He
3) EASTERN TIME ZONE USA USA USA USA

What is your name?
What is your quest?
What is the average airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
1) Tom, I come seeking passage across your bridge!
2) To seek the holy grail!
3) What do you mean? African or European Swallow?

Finally, Tom. These young whippersnippers need to watch Monty Python.

I'm not going to be posting more than basic thoughts until N2 unless I really get a strong read. I've found I'm usually very useless early in the game. Also, I didn't know this was a PM game, and no one has PMed me yet, which is interesting.

"Make a case right here and now!"

Don't you think I'm trying to come up with something? I've been trying to ask a bunch of questions to gague people, and I think I'm getting somewhere. I wonder why you're so adamant about not trying to find anything today though?

After N1 the PRs would be more informed, sure, but unless Cop snipes mafia it'll be more of the same. They won't have much to go off of since their results would be either town indicitive (which won't help unless they out themselves, and their life is way more important than just confirming a townie), scum indicitive (especially in a case like this where scum isnt too obvious its going to be hard in the first place and even if they succeed it wont tell us much about the rest of the player base since people would likely bandwagon on and itd still tell us nothing), or neutral (and we're back to where we are now).

Surprised Trundle isn't more vocal about this - he's the one who said D1 is important for the content and what happens during D1.

As for it being the topic of the day, its kinda morphed into that. It was a controversial point and because of that its going to be debated. What else would you have us talk about, anyways?

@Everyone whos played with Tom before: has he ever suggested policy lynching before?

Oh damn you have a point though

You seem very eager for a ****lynch Tom. I haven't brought anything up about not doing a policy lynch, I only stated that we don't get anything out of it AND we still have the entire day to figure something out.

I'm not against a policy lynch today, I just said i'm unsure if I want one.

@Tom Noted.

What should we call you?(nicknames) - Trojan
What are your preferred pronouns? - God
What is your time zone - AEST

Tom puts out policy lynch suggestions nearly every game, regardless of alignment, unfortunately.

Sarasa, I still hold by my original points from previous games where I think Day 1 is very important for later in the game. I have already picked out a few people in my notes to watch their posts, behaviours, votes, etc. In most cases, the people I've picked out will likely help show whether someone else is scum when one or the other dies. I am just saying I'm not going to be commenting as much on it earlier as I usually do, as I think people change their behaviour greatly when they know I'm watching them.

also just adding it that this is what I did last game with Minties, although I played a bit too distant for anyone to take my seriously

@Tom Noted.

I can't understand what you're trying to ask me but i'll give it a shot. In all honesty, he's right about this always being a shot in the dark but I agree with Sataric that we need to make of what we can today instead of making this our #1 option. Theres still a chance of us figuring something out today, kind of how you just asked me this question as an example.

What I mean is that i'm not against a policy today, i'd just prefer to not have one unless it comes down to it.

It's day one and not much has happened. Slight sus on Tom and Minties

Why do you have suspicion on them, can you please explain this in better detail?

Cause they arent playing like they want to help town. If anything they want to hurt town

No one has PMed me either buddy, I imagine it'll go just like the last PM game I played where nobody PMed me. :') But only basic thoughts? Nothing worthwhile mentioning or pushing? No comments on who we ought to lynch?

Well what are you hoping to accomplish D1 in a PM game? Threadwise we're going to have a number of checking in posts, a number of ****posts and then a number of people taking a page from Donald Trump's school of answers by typing long enough to make you wonder if they even answered the question. Any hardcore slips we'll get is either from applying an obstinate amount of pressure on somebody or someone in a PM circle slips up for everyone to rush forward and spill.

After N1 there will be blood. There will be analyzing. Speculation on the amount of mafia we have. Speculation on whether or not there's a friendly third party or a killing role. There will be posts to look at. There will be WIFOM to dissect. TBT Mafia is a creature of habit mostly, people aim for the stronger players while letting the weak live. Scum isn't being terribly obvious right now because as of right now it's the same five people posting and replying to each other publicly while the rest keep comments to themselves or their PM circles.

Agreed on Trundle.

You seem very eager for a ****lynch Tom. I haven't brought anything up about not doing a policy lynch, I only stated that we don't get anything out of it AND we still have the entire day to figure something out.

If you don't apply any pressure or look at voting habits or get the accused to talk, then sure we get absolutely nothing right away. All we've done is lessened the amount of suspicious players in the game because they're opting to not contribute or play ball. Yes, very soon we will have 24 hours to maybe come up with another person to lynch but as of no one is being brought up and you all seem to wanna beat around the bush of policy lynching. If anything I'm surprised nobody has brought up the possibility of a no lynch, I figured at least one of you would choose that route.

@Trojan: No jokes this time boo?
