I literally have no clue what the theme of this game is (。•́︿•̀。). If you guys could provide some background info for metgame that would be helpful.

Sure thing (it's been my obsession as of late).

So you are the border control between outside countries and a country called Arstotzka, a communist nation that has had its borders closed for 6 years b/c of a war with a neighboring country (Kolechia). As the border control, you go and take everyone's papers, inspect them for discrepancies, and either admit them into Arstotzka, deny them, or detain them (if they had falsified papers or something). Normally, by itself, this would prob be pretty simple but it gets crazy.

There's the Kolechian radicalists who want Arstotzka to fall, and they send terrorists to blow up your station. There's also an underground organization called the Order of the EZIC star who believe that Arstotzka has grown corrupt, and want to lead a revolution to remove the corruption (see my sig for what they kinda look like). Then there's all sorts of criminals trying to get through, situations where you have to poison an assassin, shoot tranquilizer and sniper guns and all sorts of crazy stuff to overall either help Arstotzka's prosperity or to help the EZIC star take over.

Or you know, if you're lame, you could run away but that's lame.

And admist all of this, there's little mini stories that happen over the course of a few days or hours like a husband having the necessary papers to cross, so you admit him, but his wife doesn't. Do you deny the wife? Protocol would say yes, but then you're separating two loved ones from each other forever and dooming her to subjugation back in her home country. And it's not like you can say yess willy-nilly either - people hide contraband and weapons and also if you're written up too many times you get credits taken out of your paycheck and you and your family die from hunger, the cold, and disease.

Probably wayyy too much backstory but hey I love this game.

As a side note, I personally believe in the values of EZIC, hence why I have them in my sig :p

All role PMs have been sent out. If you did not receive your role pm, then PM me. The game will start in fifty minutes.

Glory to Arstotzka

Scum detected. (Yes, I know they are the most badass faction in the actual game but in this Mafia set-up they're scum!)

Nice summation of the game story though. I feel that the difficult moral decisions you have to make in the game is what makes it so great. There aren't really any good guys or bad guys - There's just difference of opinion, struggles, and hardship all around.

Reading the game summary from Kat makes me want to try it... Shame it's not on Android :(

Day One

Day One
December 15th, 1982

You wake up at 5 am, prepared to do your duty. One month ago in Nirsk you had received that precious letter from the Glorious Arstotzkan government informing you of the duty that he must now perform. You and your family had abandoned their impoverished life in Nirsk, taking only food and a few valuable. Now, they would not have to scavenge among garbage for nourishment.

Trudging along, you arrived at the Grestin Border checkpoint. For half an hour you waited, and watched in dismay as the line of entrants grew only larger and larger. You pressed against the border fence.

"What are you doing here?"

It was a gruff sounding voice, aggresive, yet depressed. You stared at the mustashiod figure unresponsively.

"I said, what are you doing here," growing threateningly.

"I am looking for Dimitri, I am to work as inspector at this Checkpoint."

"We have no jobs! Go! Stop wasting my time!"

You trudged away depressed, prepared to be sent back to Nirsk when you failed to pay the rent. Then you heard the screams. Bang! A gun had gone off! You saw a border guard slump and the crowd fleeing! A man dressed in red checked his pulse, then fled when he heard another gunshot.

Your heart soared with elation as you saw a man in uniform dragged out of the checkpoint. Carrying a smoking gun, a border guard handed the smoking gun to Dimitri. You watched the men talk. Soon the guards saluted and carried the unconscious third man with them.

You rushed up to Dimitri. "What happened?"

"Is of little importance, you want job?"

"I need a job."

"Good, then I won't have to report this incident to my superior, you will work as inspector."

Your heart filled with joy and pride and your soul flew! You had a job, and your children and wife would no longer waste away

Glory to Arstotzka

Dolby the Traitorous Inspector was incarcerated

Tina the Border Guard was shot

Day ends in 48 hours at 8 pm PST on March Eighth.
