Here’s a fun fact about those unpopular opinion threads. There’s a total of four of them. The one I made was the longest-lived one, with more posts and longer duration of staying open.

Was that the one that just closed? If so I apologise for my contribution to it's closure whilst at the same time congratulating you on it's longevity. Should such a thread ever rise up again I will endeavour not make anybody cross, though I can't fully promise it because I am what my old Mum used to call "A naturally unlikable individual." - and she should know.

I do hope it goes away once my body gets used to taking it 😵‍💫

It does and will.

Whenever I finish a game I have to find something else to play. Sometimes I go back to my favorite games and often times I play some of it and leave it off for another day to fix, then the next day I am playing another game that is taking up my time and then I noticed that the day has gone by and then I realize I have no other time to play other games. Gosh I must have the worst attention span.

No, it closed in early 2022. The mod has even linked to the closing post in the one that just got locked.

Onto a new subject, I decided to compare and contrast six 3D Platformers. Side 1 has Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. Side 2 has Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and Donkey Kong 64. In what areas is each game the best of the six? Here’s where I place them:
  • Super Mario 64 - the enemies
  • Super Mario Sunshine - the missions
  • Super Mario Galaxy - unlocking new levels
  • Banjo-Kazooie - the levels
  • Banjo-Tooie - the moves
  • Donkey Kong 64 - the mini-games
As for the soundtrack, they all have some soundtrack that’s very good, so there’s no comparing music.

One of my friends is undergoing back surgery tomorrow. I hope it goes well, back surgery scares the crap out of me compared to certain other surgeries.

I saw a video where there was a surprisingly large amount of people who thought that Johnny Test was actually good. …okay. I mean, you can have your own opinion, but I thought we all agreed to never speak of that train wreck ever again.

Yeah, Johnny Test was one of the reasons why Cartoon Network went downhill during the CN Real Era. If I can remember, there’s a couple of other crap shows from 2005-2009 that helped ruin Cartoon Network (whether they’re originally from CN or not), even if it weren’t for the live-action shows.

Chowder, Flapjack, Total Drama, The Secret Saturdays, Camp Lazlo, 6teen, and both Ben 10 shows were the only good shows to premiere on Cartoon Network during 2005-2009. The rest of the shows that aired on CN during 2005-2009 that didn’t air on CN prior to 2005 are better off if left forgotten. Not even Teen Titans Go was as bad as the stuff that aired back then.

It started out okay on kids WB. The lazy writing and frequent whip cracks came later.

I can think of Out of Jimmy’s Head and Dude, What Would Happen? being two of the major culprit shows that aired during that era. Jimmy’s Head being so bad, that there’s no real legitimate way to view the series these days. As for Dude, it was basically Mythbusters but done way worse and had little to no educational aspect to it. Not to mention, most of the stunts they would do were simply unrealistic scenarios and were only done to perk up kids’ minds. I’m guilty of becoming excited about some of their stunts, as I was around 7-8 years old when it aired and didn’t know better. The more boring episodes of Mythbusters that don’t feature explosives or destruction are miles better than some of the shlock they attempted with Dude. Thank goodness for 2010, as we got Adventure Time, Regular Show, and in 2011 The Amazing World of Gumball; all shows I would love to revisit someday.

On TV Tropes’ YMMV page for Paper Mario: Sticker Star, the main reasons listed that are why it was hated are these:
  • Lowest Common Denominator: it tries to appeal to long time fans by bringing back the normal RPG system after being missing from Super Paper Mario, but it also tries to appeal to non fans by simplifying the plot and battle system
  • Scrappy Mechanic: a lot of people hated the stickers, the removal of experience points (making battles essentially rewardless), the inability to skip your turn, hammer stickers for having a ridiculously small timing window, bosses being extremely unbalanced, and the Thing stickers
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: essentially everything about the game
Over time, though, the game went through a different YMMV trope, Critical Backlash, where people came out and said that the game wasn’t anywhere near as bad as it was made out to be.

…I’m going to go visit my ear doctor now.

The first pretty bad episode of SpongeBob was Good Neighbors. But there’s one good thing I can say about it. It doesn’t involve the eponymous neighbors. Actually, it does. If this were two or three seasons later, then when Squidward finally snapped, SpongeBob and Patrick would have thought he meant they were doing a good job and should keep annoying him. But they weren’t that stupid yet.

The first horrible episode of the show was The Splinter. Look, I can kind of handle gross out, but this is SpongeBob. The cute sea cartoon kids tend to watch. I think with episodes like this and One Coarse Meal, they forgot about that part. At first, the splinter looks normal, but it just gets more and more swollen, and more and more disgusting, and very realistic, until it reaches its zenith. And when it seems like it’s over and Mr. Krabs removes it, pus sprays all over him until SpongeBob’s thumb is back to normal. And it’s not even the worst episode of the season. That would probably be Boating Buddies.

Also, besides the toenail scene, House Fancy is pretty average. It’s not one of the worst of the show or anything. It’s just that they were obsessed with making you want to vomit or recoil in your seat starting here, like with the episode I was talking about before.
