A block would give a two way total censor, but that may encourage someone to make another account to see whatever, which more than one account is something the staff doesn't like.
I'd heavily discourage people from trying to get around blocks/find out exactly who is blocking you*, because I don't think it's a terribly healthy thing to do for oneself—not to mention disrespectful of the blocker's boundaries, and makes them even less likely to change their view of you—but if it's just to view posts, logging out would have the same effect and be a lot more convenient.
Of course, if they're actively trying to block evade and contact the person who'd blocked them, then we'd have the potential issue of users creating multiple accounts as you mentioned. Most sites that have total blocks also have strict rules against block evasion, which could be something staff could implement as an extra deterrent against multiple accounts if they added a full block feature.

*using the general you here ofc!

I just use the ignore feature as a reminder that I tend to upset x user often so don't interact with them directly for a while or we think very differently so don't interact much. We interpret things differently. So I just use the ignore feature as a way to help give space.
Now that is an excellent idea! I should do this to everyone I feel I could potentially accidentally upset.

*puts 70% of the members on ignore*

Disclaimer: I didn't really. They can suck it up! Haters gonna hate 😘

So some people are taking aquarium safe rocks and drilling two holes on them and calling them aquarium golem pets. That's good marketing honestly and some are kinda cute. They come in different sizes and natural colors and natural shapes. Some have natural seams or lines that give them brows or mouths.

People creating multiple accounts to get around being ignored shouldn't even be an ISSUE. People would have to be pretty dead-set on bothering the person to do that, and in the end they'd get banned anyway.

My ISSUE is that the current ignore feature isn't good enough, and until it is, I'm not going to be using it for anyone on the site. It doesn't really even have to be full-blown separation, either. Shawna mentioned the word "customize," which is completely possible for something like this. The staff could make it to where you can choose whether you want to use the basic ignore features or a full-blown separation from said user. I just don't understand why it's been the left the way it is.

I've been thinking of picking up New Leaf ahead of the upcoming event but I also think I forget how to play and I'm scared to mess up my town 🙈

I was watching an acquaintance play Persona 3 reload. He was fighting the 10/4 full moon boss and happened to have Koromaru, the dog, in his party. He stopped for a moment, and noticed the weapon in Koros mouth. He then audibly said "Why did they give him a knife? he has dog." He has dog? sometimes i really worry about him.

Putting banana bread in my purse was a mistake cause now everything inside is greasy including the lining.

I've been watching Rick and Morty since this morning and I'm already on season 4?? I could've sworn I started season 3 only a few days ago. I'm gonna finish the show by next week if I keep this pace, so I guess I'll go down to 1-2 episodes a day.

Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not against upgrading the ignore feature to be a complete separation from another user and not just hiding their posts.
The only reason I can think of is it's the way it's handled. On TBT there's not really anyway to tell if someone has you on ignore and I assumed the way the ignore feature on TBT is handled is to prevent drama and from users getting angry they've been put on ignore and demanding to know why or acting hostile because of the block and/or trying to block invade.

For example on Toyhou.se when you block someone and they try and go to your page they will be told they are blocked, it doesn't send the user a notification they've been blocked obviously but Toyhou.se directly telling a user they have been blocked by someone creates a lot of drama on the website regarding being blocked and people constantly trying to block invade and demanding to know why they are blocked. Of course Toyhou.se is a really toxic and immature website/community anyways and should not be compared to the TBT community, most people on TBT are calm, mature and respectful of people's boundaries and I imagine most TBT members would not try and scream at people for being blocked and start arguments over something as trivial as being blocked and like other people already said trying to create another account to block invade would get you banned and not respecting people's boundaries that they wish to not interact with you is grounds for harassment anyways which is also against the rules.

I wish the ignore feature on TBT was handled more like Pinterest's or Tumblr's block features, basically when you block someone it makes your account invisible to the person you blocked so they can't see or interact with you in the first place. Nobody can yell at me I blocked them if they don't even know my account exists because I blocked them before they can see and interact with my account in the first place.

There are times when I know I’m going to watch something soon that I know I’ll hate. Five seasons from now, I’ll have to watch this Simpsons episode:

Yeah, I’m gonna have a lot to say. Probably not very good things either. There’s some other super hated episodes of the show before it, like Principal and the Pauper, the season 9 Christmas episode, or the kidney transplant episode, but I think this will end up being my absolute least favorite of the entire show. And no, not just because of one scene.

[insert long sigh]

Speaking of Toyhouse, I do enjoy the character repository aspect and I've even adopted some really nice characters from there, but uhh... had I known it was basically completely unmoderated idk if I ever would've joined LOL
I remember reading the rules before signing up and going "ah yes, this place sounds like it'll be nice and reasonable!" and not realizing the 4k+ active users are all moderated by one singular person (who doesn't really check the forum section ever) until I went "huh I wonder why there's so many duplicate art game threads here" and poked around a little further.

Really wish the admin of that site would do literally anything about the moderation situation (even just. disabling the forum section altogether. something.) because as it is, I just try to keep my head down and get nervous just thanking someone for an HTML code of theirs I used lmao. Really made me extra appreciative of the way TBT is run.

I forgot to cancel a subscription service I was trying and wasted $40, The utter pain of seeing that balance information pop up.

Silly me o_O I need to write down reminders of what I have subscriptions for so this stops happening.

On the topic of how different sites handle blocking and limitation...

I really wish DeviantArt would have a better limitation system. I keep getting the same spammy DMs from different members. I do not even bother to block these people. Because:
#1 - It can cause drama and they can just make different accounts and continue with that bullcrap.
#2 - It doesn't solve the problem. It really doesn't. It is not gonna stop other spam messages from coming in.

Reddit has this system where you can disable your PMs...and there is a whitelist. You can add people on your whitelist, and only THEY can DM you. This is probably the most brilliant way to go about limiting DMs and it is beyond my comprehension that a lot of other websites (especially DeviantArt) do not do this. I actually have my DMs disabled, since I do somewhat participate in self-shipping sub-Reddits and self-shippers tend to get severely bullied for being just that. People have even shared some of the nasty things they get. It sucks, but I do not want to get into that mess in this post.

DeviantArt also has a limitation system for who views your artwork, but it's not very good. You can set indivisual art pieces to "Watchers Only". I have used this before for my self-ship pictures. However, doing some thinking, I realized it is not very helpful. People can still easily watch you and even leave a nasty comment. It is honestly just a way to get more people to watch you.

As for limitations outside of blocking, I know TBT allows you to limit certain things like profiling commenting, conversations, and even who views your profile. I have talked about this before. Right now, I just have fun info I do not mind anyone seeing, and I try to not say anything that can rub someone the wrong way (it feels like I have, but these were minor incidents and were few and far between), so it is a bit of a stretch to limit profile viewing to just those I follow.

However, for months now, I have been debating on limiting who comments on my profile. I will keep it vague, but there was once a little incident in 2022 that is still marked on my mind that made me slight uncomfortable (they deleted their comment)...and I would like to avoid similar ones in the future if at all possible.

I had no idea what the hell the ice emoji meant for a while because it’s one of those things that’s been altered to have a completely different meaning. It turns out it means cool, so you’d see it spammed on a video like this because this is the internet today:

It does make a lot of sense that the ice emoji would mean cool. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that.

Kinda hard to fathom how true blocking would work on a site like this..

Let's say I make a really controversial post and get myself blocked by a bunch of people. Then in a different thread, I get into a conversation with people who haven't blocked me, and they start quoting me in response. Maybe some people join in the conversation without quoting at all. How would that whole conversation look with a true blocking feature? If a true blocking feature completely removes all my posts and perhaps all posts that quote me as well, then this hypothetical conversation would start to be really confusing, because not everyone uses the quotes feature (or forgets to, or whatever)

Maybe a blocking feature could automatically inline spoiler every post someone that's on your block list says? But idk how difficult that would be to implement.

Just sayin' I can understand why the current "blocking" feature we have is the way it is.. seems tricky for a forums website but maybe I am just ignorant since TBT is the only forums website I use

So… why was there already a beetle in my house? March literally just started today (technically yesterday in my time zone), at least let it be May or something before Satan’s minions start to make their way in here.
