Place your random thoughts.

i restarted my new horizons island yesterday because i wanted to start playing again and needed a new start. the problem is how tedious this game is, there’s just an over explanation of EVERYTHING in the beginning tutorial and not to mention that you basically can’t do anything good unless you get K.K to play for your island.

at least i’ll have something to work towards now.

A complete blocking feature would work, it's just a matter of how it would be implemented. There's a lot of possibilities with the Xenforo software.

This is the last I'm going to mention it, since staff haven't made any formal comments. I don't think it's going to be changed at all, which is unfortunate, so I guess I'll just mentally block users from my mind that I don't want to interact with.

Anyway, it's absolutely CRIMINAL to have to get up this early on a Saturday... but I have a gym session to make up, so oh well.

I do this all the time. The fun of anxiety.

Several posts in this thread have been removed. The unpopular opinions thread was closed for a reason and we do not approve of people simply using this thread as an alternative. Letting people discuss different (potentially better) world views is probably a good thing, but an Animal Crossing forum is still not a great place to repeatedly start sensitive discussions.

We will be considering an update to our site rules to explicitly disallow repeated and deliberate posts with sensitive topics such as religious and political content. I cannot guarantee that such a rule will actually be added, as finding a clear line regarding such content is not always possible and we might not find a way to define it that we like. We also shouldn't need such a rule because the members involved have already proven to be entirely aware that their posting habits can be problematic. Anyway, we will be discussing the potential rule update internally, and in the meantime:

If you had posts removed (unless you were only replying to someone), do not continue making similar posts here and stop bringing up these subjects. Any further attempt to divert your posts from the closed 'unpopular opinions thread' to this or any other thread will very likely result in official warnings and other actions against your account.

Thank you!

The current ignore feature is designed to work so that the other party does not know that they are being ignored, and to still provide the person who is ignoring people enough information to prevent misunderstandings in threads. Most potential additions to the ignore feature would break one of these two points. It would also be strange if blocking someone affected their ability to read through forum threads chronologically. It would be even stranger if the blocked person could just log out to read your content anyway, so if you are concerned with someone reading what you post, this would not be a solution either, the only guaranteed solution is not to post it.

There are more reasons, some already provided by others in this thread, but I will just skip to the conclusion and say that we are currently not interested in reworking the ignore feature. Sorry!

Glad I got a notification to say my posts were not problematic. I'm a good girl 😇

I was likely engaged in the discussion though. Sorry about that.

Maybe a thread exclusively for politics that users could easily avoid due to the likelihood it would contain sensitive discussion wouldn't be a bad thing? Have it as the only place politics etc is allowed? But I also appreciate this is an Animal Crossing forum and possibly not the ideal place for this stuff.

I think it's worth noting though that if people are allowed to post popular political views and slogans on here without moderation, that perhaps would be sensitive subjects to another user, then it can make it look a little unbalanced, though I doubt that was the intent. It could also confuse people into thinking these discussions are allowed. A blanket ban on politics completely might be a fairer system, but probably hard to enforce especially with so many western elections coming up this year.

Anyway, I'm beyond delighted with my notification telling me I was not problematic, so thanks for that! 🥰

i was playing Project Diva earlier, and decided to change the note icons, in an attempt to challenge myself. i changed my usual settings to arrow visuals, which i have never used before. i did not find it a challenge at all. i do not know if i should consider this fortunate or unfortunate.

While I got seven notifications of “repeated problematic content”, yet I try to follow the rules. I know that I would eventually stop discussing politics altogether (I even said that I won’t do it on my reintroduction thread). I just wanted to share my final political thoughts before I start moving on. But since I got moderated, I’m pretty much done with this thread. All “random thoughts” I have to post will go on my profile.

I will stop with the controversial posts altogether (including my profile), but the “repeated problematic content” notifications and the fact I got seven of them seems excessively harsh. I’m not even trying to troll others.

If the staff wants to discuss this to me, I still have my PMs open.

Lunch with my grandparents can get hectic sometimes but I still had a good time. I’m glad my dentist appointment is on the 21st and not the 20th as I thought.

The dislike button was mostly a joke to be honest. I HATE sites that implement this and if TBT implemented it, I would most likely leave.

The complete ignore feature, however, I'm completely serious about. I really don't think the current ignore feature is good enough because, like Alolan_Apples mentioned, people can still read and see your posts that you ignore, plus it doesn't completely remove everything on your end, either.

Posting for clarity's sake.
Yeah it's why I didn't quote you. I was sure it was a joke. I've never used the ignore feature tbh so I didn't know how it did work. I could see why it works that way. Like if people are ignoring lots and they happen to be in the same team during an event, it could cause problems if all posts are gone and not just hidden but can be toggled. I guess. I don't know why it is the way it is.

I'm sure I'm on a good bit of people's ignore lists lol. I didn't like how some of the members would take someone's post as a personal attack when they'd comment on the negatives of NH and would throw petty insults towards the members. (And let's be honest the game is flawed) so I wouldn't shy away from calling them out about their rude behavior.

kind of a petty bother but I think I lost my pronoun pin today... it's not that big of a deal but now I gotta get a new one ugh. 😔
GUYS I FOUND IT IN A PARKING LOT LMAO LET'S GOOOO 🤩💙💚

only problem is now I think I've lost my chapstick lol I just keep losing stuff 😅 luckily I didn't lose anything on the subway, I was sure that I would oof.

edit: lmao guys I'm a fool my chapstick is in my pants pocket. I'm so tired and I still have to drive home tomorrow hsjdhsgsjddjgsj
