Does my piracy still hurt your company if I had no interest in ever paying for the product anyways.

Many times piracy is due to lack of ability to afford the product. Money is not being taken out of the company pocket in this case.

I want to buy and pirate things that are no longer supported by the companies that own them, or the author went nuts.

I was having a lovely past few days, oddly relieved I hadn’t heard much about politics. However, I realized I had busied myself with sumo, drag, shoes, and writing, and therefore I wouldn’t hear a thing about it! I think I’ll stay distracted for now; I feel informed enough.

Finally got my power back on, it went out about early yesterday morning and it came back on around almost in the afternoon.
Really I hate storms, that wind was so scary. One tree fell down in the courtyard of the complex I live in.
I hope everyone else that was in the path of this thing is okay.

And on a unrelated note, some people have nothing better to do. Me, my mom, and my youngest brother decided we were going to ride around town for a while to charge up our phones on Friday night.
A little later we stopped by a local Bojangles restaurant to order something through the driveway.

While we were waiting. This group of teenage boys (around five of them) came out from inside of the restaurant and into the parking lot and began throwing a football around. Then later a pickup truck rolled up and even more of them fell out of it. So at 8:00 p.m. last night and nearly everyone who does not have any lights on, now has to deal with these reckless boys in the parking lot who wants to throw a ball around.

My mom was absolutely waiting for them to accidentally hit her car (she and my brother also guessed that they were probably rich boys too). She started chanting the license plate number of the pickup truck while we were waiting.

And what makes it worse. The restaurant is already aware of this. Because they do this every weekend apparently.

Sailing the seven seas would barely exist if products weren't taken off the market, locked into certain hardwares, region or language locked, or get abandoned (support stopped). It's usually an accessibility/service issue rather than price point.

Something I've noticed:

Custom anime clothes (mainly from Etsy or from print-on-demand sites) are so much better than the ones you find at Hot Topic or in that anime section at Target.

Here's something that keeps surprising me: back when I joined TBT, I wasn't as indulged in the community as I am now. There were some threads I stumbled upon and interacted with, however, and two of them were made by the same user who would later become my partner.

2022 me would've never expected that to happen (I didn't even know them at the time lol), but here we are. XD

I am participating in the mushroom season, but my apples have been sleeping in the bowl. They are tired after the last TBT Fair.

I'm in one of those moods where I can't decide on an avatar, so probably be prepared for me to change it 15 times over the next 24 hours lol

piracy can also happen if a consumer wants something that's out of print and the company refuses to reprint it. especially if it's too difficult or expensive to acquire secondhand. in that case how can you get mad at the pirate? in both scenarios I think the company isn't losing money, but of course there's always a moral grey area with piracy, and conflicts with intellectual property.

I've heard that piracy means there's a service issue. Although I do think that some people are always going to pirate no matter what.

The Nintendo Online service is a good example of something that would encourage piracy. Drip feeding a short selection of games every few months does not encourage customers to adhere legally. Why wait 3 years for Chrono Trigger to possibly be uploaded, when it takes 5 minutes to install an emulator? That's why I liked the virtual console. Placing a large selection on the shop for you to pick from, rather than a moderate sized selection Nintendo picks for you.

One could argue the morality of it forever. I'll be honest though. My personal feelings against piracy only apply towards smaller scale developers.

I don't feel so sympathetic towards a mega corporation that has shown anti consumer practices. Tha argument of 'Stealing is wrong' could be placed at the end of any piracy discussion though. It's something that each individual is going to make their own decision about regardless.

I was watching some gameplay of Echos of Wisdom when a Biri enemy in the water zapped Zelda. I laughed, saying to myself, "Now you know what it's like, ***** lol"

Link has to put up with some real risky things during his adventures. I couldn't help but think about how annoying electric monsters are, especially in BotW/Totk ⚡⚡⚡

It's neat that we have surface pictures of Mars.

There's an eerieness to how far away and empty it is.

Maybe that's because the planet is still in a totally natural state. We don't have that here on earth.

Tomorrow my great-grandma Nana would be 116 years old! In a way, it’s crazy I knew and regularly hung out with someone who was born in 1908. I was fortunate to have spent so much time with her. She lived to her mid-90s and died when I was 6. But I still remember certain things, like trying to get her to eat Fruit Gushers though she had diabetes (“Honey, I can’t have that.”). I remember going to her house, sitting on the old porch swing, and playing with her dog Princess. I am beyond grateful to have had her in my life.
