I haven't been able to enjoy my new place just yet. My mom is out of town for the weekend, and my dad was busy trying to fix my sister's car (ugh). I still need to move lots of the bigger furniture I have as well as set up an ISP, and I have no one else to help me currently. As much as I want to improve some things to my liking, I'm strapped for cash at the moment, so I'll have to wait until moving is done before I can do extra work for money.

Really hate to have a non-productive Saturday right now, but at least our school district's winter break will be coming up in a week, so I'll have time then to become fully situated.

Finally found a Hallmark movie with a thicc boy! 😜 (Hanukkah on the Rocks) He’s not the leading man, unfortunately, but he’s a supporting character who falls for a lady who works at the bar (?). I’m glad they also have Hanukkah movies; I didn’t know they had any! Hopefully they stop rotating through the same three guys and add some more to their roster. (same goes for the girls.) And some more thicc representation would be nice…!

I always tell my older brother that you don't need to be an expert to play chess.

If you reach a high level it does get complex.

However, you can put up a strong fight against most players from just learning how to play defensively and not give up pieces. That advice would go for anybody who is trying to learn it.

I posted this, basically, in the "surgery" thread, but I am wondering if anyone has had a hernia surgery? I sure could use some advice on how the recovery goes. I live alone, and don't know if I can get along by myself or not.

Stuff like this is no problem when you have people surrounding you, but I don't think I can rely on my cat to help much 😆

Any insight? Ideas? Wisdom?

I'm basically the polar opposite of my younger sisters as far as personality goes: I'm really shy and introverted, I get angry and upset pretty easily, and I'm a little more "girly" than my sisters are. I mean, we're all tomboyish, but I'm more girly as far as my fashion sense goes. I'm not really a makeup or jewellery person.

I just got rickrolled by the radio 💀 like I got into the car, turned on the radio and then "never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down" bombards greets my ears

I get it, YT..... Hazbin Hotel is bad, lol

I checked out one vid out of curiosity and now....every single vid EVER wants to say hi. And not one is about it being a good show.

I hit a block again on my greeting card. I would put it aside and work on a different entry but I’m afraid that if I do that, I won’t get back to it. Balancing time between two things is impossible since once I start focusing on one, I can’t focus on anything else.

I can't believe the Lions imploded today... I think the game was over though after that fumble in the 3rd quarter. That's a mistake the Cowchickens™️ would normally make. 😂

Sonic Forces was the first mainline Sonic game I ever played, back in 2020, but now I think it’s one of the worst mainline Sonic games. Now that I’ve played other games, especially the other ones that use the boost formula, I can see the issues gameplay wise. The best comparison is Sonic Generations since they both have you boost through 3D stages as Modern Sonic and play 2D sections as Classic Sonic, but in this game the boost gameplay is so simplified that you can beat entire sections by doing nothing but pressing the boost button, the Classic Sonic physics are awful, and the stages that were already pretty short in the former game are half the length. The story sucks too, it’s not as tone deaf and confusing as Shadow the Hedgehog but it’s still laughably bad in a lot of new ways. I think this is the opposite of nostalgia blind because I have nostalgia for it, but that doesn’t stop me from saying that it’s not good. But I also think that Fist Bump is one of the best main themes in a Sonic game. At least the music is pretty good here like usual, but I think there’s better soundtracks.

Also, why does this game have two songs in Smash while Sonic Unleashed gets none? It’s literally the only main series Sonic game to not have any musical representation in any Smash game even though it has the best soundtrack, so it makes no sense.

Yeah, the older Sonic games like Colors, Unleashed, Sonic Adventure, etc. are really better and the newer Sonic games don't really compare I'm afraid. Everything after Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric is mostly a miss, which is unfortunate for a video game series that used to be a lot of fun.

One time I showed my dad a video of a seahorse giving birth and he hated it so much he ran out of the room. He doesn’t even want to see a freshly hatched eaglet lol. I kinda get it about the eaglet though…baby birds look weird at first. But when they’re fluffy they’re at max cuteness!

I've never agreed with the notion that the 'first thing you try will be your favorite'.

e,g in my experience

I played Persona 5 first. It's my least favorite.

First time outings with someone always result in a little bit of anxiety for me. It'll ease up as we go along but it makes the first bit of the event so unfortunately unpleasant.

I’m disappointed that my boy Matt Willig’s acting career is somewhat limited, but maybe there will be something big in the future. He has potential. I know he’s been in some popular shows and movies (Dexter, Young Rock, We’re the Millers), so that’s a start.
