Pokémon Playing X/Y Togheter!

Im about to start! I think Im going to do a wedlocke with a level limit! My pokemon can not be more than 2 levels higher than hte gym leader!!!

I want your guys' opinions on this.
I'm trying to decide which 2 starters to use on the team (piplup vs Squirtle, as mudkip is staying) So, here are the pros and cons that I've come up with

Squirtle
+: Only mon hatched that can mega in main game, nostalgia sake (first ever starter)
-: Only 1 type

Piplup
+: Gets metal claw to help with faries much sooner than shieldon and Foongus can (don't learn Steel and poison moves respectively until very late)
-: Another fighting weakness, already have a steel type

I did catch a feamle combee but it died so I still have 3 pokemon. I'm currently waiting but I'm about to hit Route 5

I'm inclined to say Squirtle for less weaknesses.

OK I started my Wedlocke.


Atm I am on hte first route but my DS was running out of charge so I stopped for a bit!

My trainer's name is Corazon and I am naming all my pokemon after Devil Fruits!


My Team-

Toge the Chespin which is paired with Mushi the Caterpie atm!
(Toge means Spike and Mushi means Insect)

Quick update- I evolved Buzz Buzz into a Vespiquen. I also traded her to OR so that I could teach her Defend Order and Confuse Ray.

I'm trying to decide whether not to trade Meditite into OR and just teach her Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, and Zen Headbutt via move tutor. Do you think I should?
