Recently my Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp app stopped working (most likely because of the new update & lack of storage space, rip). Now I can delete my Pok?mon GO app, which I havent used in the past 1, 2 months, but I'm still hesitant.
Which would you choose? Right now I'm not playing either game, but I'd like to get back into Pocket Camp again. PoGO saves all your data so you can re-download it at a later date, right?

I'd say Pocket Camp, though my choice is incredibly biased as I love Animal Crossing and don't play Pokemon. Nothing against Pokemon, I just get really obsessive over games so I try not to play too many.
They seem to be putting more out in terms of content in comparison to Pokemon GO, I could be wrong though. Last things I've really heard of it was that they were adding generation two and Meltan.
I know they've added more, but the gap of time they sat on just generation one kinda stagnated it.

I don't know about saving the data on Pokemon Go, but you're able to save Pocket Camp data by having a My Nintendo account. There may be some complications though if you switch brands of phone, like losing your Leaf tickets.

Oh man I get way too obsessed/invested in games like that too, it's one of the reasons why I stopped really playing PoGo because I wouldn't put it down anymore -_-

I looked it up and pokemon go does save your data, and knowing that acpc does as well makes me a lot less worried about losing anything! It's actually awesome to see pocket camp still being updated & having so much content added, it feels like that game's much older than it really is, but it outshines pokemon go a lot imo

Pok?mon: magikarp jump

Oh my gosh, you're both so right, how could I ever forget?

TBH, I choose neither.

Pokemon GO (the last time I played it, ages ago) seems less money grabby (in terms of exclusive content hidden behind microtransactions); however, the appeal of it also wears off really quickly. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp has become horrendously money grabby and is honestly a shell of an Animal Crossing game. Sure, there are a lot of neat little things added in it, but it really is incredibly shallow compared to the real Animal Crossing games.

I used to be addicted to mobile games, but I've been able to get myself away from them and my life is better for it. I wasn't really a money-spender, thankfully, but the games are still overtly simplistic and lock so much content away from you for not paying absurd amounts of money for RNG in hopes you'll get it. I don't need that in my life.

I would say Pocket Camp as I play both Pocket Camp and feh on my tablet, but it’s really up to you. I could never really get into the walking around outside and catching mons’ part of Pokemon Go, so it just wasn’t for me. I check PC and feh daily though, do a couple things on them, and then put them down and get on with the rest of my day. It’s possible to save up a lot of leaf tickets and orbs on Pocket Camp and feh respectively if you just don’t use them for awhile and check the game daily while still being free to play. It limits how much you can do on the games and how long you can play them for sure, but since mobile games are just a side thing for me it all works out. :)

I can't choose, but I think I prefer Pokemon Go! I lost my original Pocket Camp due to a malfunction, so I'm a little biased.

Well I don't play Pokemon Go so I guess Pocket Camp by default.

Honestly I used to play Pokemon Go almost every day and was really into it for a long time. But, that's a game that got mad hype then crashed and burned fairly quickly. Most people I know that played it have stopped now. For me, I stopped playing simply because they never released any new updates and it's also difficult to play during winter. I'd choose Pocket Camp due to the consistent updates + things to do compared to Go. But, if you're ever planning on playing either of the Pokemon Let's Go series I know you can transfer some of your Pokemon from Go to your switch game. There is also talk of Pocket Camp linking up with the new Animal Crossing game that's coming to the switch. In the end the choice is yours.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, I don't like cellphones (I do have one though)..and I play Pocket Camp on a tablet, which I have to get a new one now.. stupid update! I'm missing out on the Toy Day event!

Whoa, thank you all so much for replying!!

It's true that during winter, you can't really play pokemon go because it's just too cold to. None of my close friends play pokemon go either so it's not like any of the 'recent' updates do much for me to really get back into it.
I've been able to free up some space for pocket camp, so I guess I won't have to delete anything for a little while, but I am looking forward to see if pocket camp sticks with me :)

Pocket Camp. I don't really like GO and the community really, at least in the beginning it was basically whiners who never thought it was cool before but now gotta go fast Dragonite in old town lol.

At least most PC people are helpful and we can complain together lol.

You're absolutely right. By definition pok?mon is more competitive and animal crossing is very cooperative. I find it rather difficult to get any enjoyment out of playing pok?mon go (especially since they region-locked my favorite pok?mon of all time, rip pachirisu) -_-
And in pocket camp you can visit anyone from all over the world, because having to be within 50 meters of each other to interact is pretty

Yeah, I'm not competitive much and I don't really get the GO idea.. I mean you can talk a walk anyway?? And yeah those even harder region locks sucks and the mechanics seem weird as hell.

And same, I use PC to relax even if I'm a collector to a certain point, and I love decorating and doing easy quests more lol.

I play both and honestly, I like Pokemon GO more partly because it gives me a reason to go outside when it's nice out. Plus it's always exciting riding my bike somewhere to find a poke I don't have yet.

I like Pocket Camp too, but it doesn't hold my attention very well since it's so repetitive. Plus I expect more from an Animal Crossing game, even if it is mobile. Pogo is pretty repetitive but going around spinning pokestops and taking out gyms is always a fun time for me. Plus it mimics the actual games in the sense that I spend a lot of my time in the games shiny hunting, which is basically just repetitive wild encounters.

That's a very fair point! I guess both games are pretty repetitive. From the last time I played pocket camp & all the big updates I've seen, they really added a lot of unique things to spice up the formula! It's all still new to me, and I'm sure that that alone will keep me entertained for a good while.
PoGo did so too by adding newer generations, but really it's just chucking balls at pok?mon all over again.
The weather is really starting to make it so you can't play it outside anymore, sadly. And I don't have a car (or friends with one) so I can't play from the safety of that either :I

I think I might pick it up again in spring; see what's been added, see who's still playing, etc. I'm kinda bummed because I really liked playing it but I just didn't connect with the community/philosophy of walking around outside & doing daily tasks to catch pok?mon. Ah well. It seems like I've made up my mind.

Pocket Camp 100%. Although I've never played Pokemon GO so I might be a bit biased.

^^ A lot of people agree & I think I do too! I just need to update but it keeps giving me error messages, rip

neither tbh, pocket camp is repetitive and i'm simply not interested in pokemon go

If I had to choose, Pocket Camp. I never even got into Pokemon Go. I never really tried super hard or even played Pocket Camp for more than a couple hours.
