That video is adorable, despite the fact I have no idea what's going on.
From the little bit I could understand, it's a child singing about how weak and useless Magikarp is, but he loves Magikarp a lot anyway because it's the Pokemon he has as a friend.
It's pretty cute, but just like the Slowpoke song I don't really understand why it was produced (apart from merchandise).

A Shiny Charm and different language Ditto would help with the breeding. Since you can only get one Jaw Fossil per X/Y game, you'd have to soft reset a bunch for the chance at a shiny. The Shiny Charm should work on that method too.
I'd say that under the mentioned conditions, the breeding is faster because the chance of getting a shiny is higher, but you're still working with just a small chance in both methods.

Same, I picked it up off the GTS. Only got one shiny out of it, Shiny Abra, but, it's still good to have!

I know right? When I began to read that post I thought they were cutting the service for them I was thinking wtf?!?! We still need those! XP
Pokemon Bank was my saviour when I transferred my Pokemon from X to AS. C: Though I might keep all my Pokemon in AS to finish the Pokedex there and start new with Moon. Not sure yet though. I have never completed a Pokedex in a Pokemon game yet, ehehe.

From Gen 5 to Gen 6, no. It is specifically stated in the Poke Transporter app (directly tied to PokeBank) that items can't be carried over from BW and B2W2 to XY and ORAS and that any held items would be placed back in your bag during the transfer. You also can't store items in PokeBank, so it is likely that we won't be able to transfer items from Gen 6 to Gen 7 either.
