From Gen 5 to Gen 6, no. It is specifically stated in the Poke Transporter app (directly tied to PokeBank) that items can't be carried over from BW and B2W2 to XY and ORAS and that any held items would be placed back in your bag during the transfer. You also can't store items in PokeBank, so it is likely that we won't be able to transfer items from Gen 6 to Gen 7 either.

I got Bank initially, stopped for a bit then renewed it. It contains my living Dex now so I'm going to keep it around. Do you guys think we'll be able to transfer pretty soon after release? Like E.g. after beating main story?.
For X and Y, there was quite a wait to get PokeBank and Transporter, making trading and stuff kinda fun. If we can't transfer immediately I might reset for a female starter to get something good breedable I can trade in case i can't transfer ditto over.

Been struggling with my shiny breeding for a while now, does anybody have any good advice or tips? I know what the odds are for shiny breeding but I literally never had one and I do play quite a lot. Is it just a matter of patience or is there anything to edge it in my favour?

Have you tried Masuda method? Shiny Charm?
