Dunno if anyone posted this yet but I found a pretty accurate rarity scale.
Not official but pretty accurate.
My rarest encounter was Jinx and my rarest capture was Staryu.

I was in the car and we couldn't stop :[
That really sucks. Sometimes if they show up on top of you, like I was using incense while in the car, you can still initiate the catching sequence, and if you have AR turned off you can catch them. You have to be fast though, cuz once you get so far they go poof! That happened to me yesterday. >>

I think I just noticed something. Some of my pokemon have a blue glow around their image in my inventory, and I think it means that they have a hidden or special move? My Exeggcute knows ancient power, and the move is a rock type apparently.
Ancient Power is one of Exeggcute's egg moves so that's probably why it's glowing blue. Same with all your other Pokemon. If they glow blue, like you said, then they must have an egg move

lapras is the rarest thing you can find, rip. other than snorlax and another pokemon.
Can someone explain to me how you catch more of the starter pokemon and "special" pokemon?
I cannot get this game yet, but I'd like to know which of the starter pokemon seems to be the most difficult to find so I won't have to find it later. Pikachu, Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle?
can someone please explain how the nearby pokemon thing works? if I select one, does the game guide me to it or what? ; v ; I keep getting the same ones over and over again even though I've been traveling around...

also, how do I acquire an egg?
Under the image of each Pok?mon on you "Nearby Pok?mon" list you will find pictures of pokemon foot steps. 3 steps means you are far away, 2 steps mean you are closer, 1 step is even closer or right in the general area, and no steps under the image mean you should be on it. Look around on the map or take a few steps here and there if it doesn't appear. You're basically playing a game of hot and cold, or a scavenger hunt. The footprints being clues. You can only initiate the catching sequence when the Pok?mon is visible on the map. Hope this helpedcan someone please explain how the nearby pokemon thing works? if I select one, does the game guide me to it or what? ; v ; I keep getting the same ones over and over again even though I've been traveling around...
