On my first play through of X, I was on my way back from glittering cave on the Rhyhorn and was running into pokemon I didn’t want every few steps, and was considering using a repel when I encountered it- a full odds shiny helioptile. I threw an ultra ball at it without doing damage because I was afraid of critical hitting and I got it. I didn’t nickname it, but I kept it as member of my party.
Two years later, I had done almost everything I wanted to do and was getting tired of playing. At the time, I knew shinies were rare, but I underestimated how rare they were (about 1/100 lol) and thought I’d get one on my next play through so I rested my save. The heliolisk was lost to the void. I’ve played seven main line games and to this day I haven’t encountered another shiny unexpectedly like that. (not including the ultra warp run thing from usum, that thing had super broken shiny odds)
I'm not really a fan of shinies but I thought I'd share mine anyways since it's kind of funny. I was going Max Lair one legendary after the next trying to find a Ho-Oh. Finally find one and beat it. Not sure my odds of this happening but it was a shiny Ho-Oh. The problem... I didn't want shiny Ho-Oh.... I wanted his original colors. I could have just traded for another Pokemon and left to try again but that would be a total waste not to keep it. So I ended up trading my extra Mewtwo for one instead. It's still sitting in my inventory. Not sure what to do with it honestly.
I’ve had some tales involving shiny Pokemon, but I doubt I’ll ever get over finding a shiny Geodude in a horde battle in Pokemon X, watching in horror as two Geodudes used Magnitude and blankly staring as the shiny fainted, never to be seen again...
On the other hand, I would one day find a shiny Pikachu in the friend safari. So I guess it balances out? Not really, but what can you do. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I was playing Ultra Sun for the first time, going through wormholes, found Rayquaza, and thought “Oh, is there some sort of game event that made Rayquaza black?” Then it occurred to me that it was shiny, but I accidentally knocked it out, and then remembered that if there ever was a time to use a master ball, that was it. And I found out that it determines that at the start of the battle, so it wasn’t shiny on the re-try.
But I did get a shiny Virizion my first time through Black 2, and actually caught it. I’ve been playing Pokemon right from the beginning, but didn’t get a shiny until I stumbled upon a yellow Lickitung in Fire Red.
Back in Moon, I was trying to chain Skarmory using SOS Battles and an Adrenaline Ball to get a Shiny.
I had been going for hours, trying to get a shiny to spawn. After a long run, the current Skarmory ran out of PP and strugggled into a KO without calling a new mon. I headed back to town to heal.
I passed a shaking tree, and a Shiny Fearow jumped out at me. I managed to catch it.
Restarted my game in ORAS to replay it again with nuzlocke. First wild pokemon I had to catch was a shiny Zigzagoon. The game started with the additional stress of keeping a shiny pokemon alive.
My story is lame i always try and i never get any . No in pokemon sword i am huting vulvix already battled 200 vulpix ( love that the pokedex tells you the amount of battles ) and still no shiny it will happen one day im sure
Jonathan the Psyduck was my very first Shiny, found him in Platinum by accident.
I just restarted exactly 1500 times and found my Shiny Turtwig in Shining Pearl. His name is Melon and I love him so much.
[EDIT] An hour after starting the journey I accidentally ran into a Shiny Buizel! I hadn't even seen a Buizel in this game yet!
