Let the battles commence!​


The Format
After running the numbers a decision was made to change the tournament from double-elimination to single-elimination. We were looking at hitting up to nine rounds in double-elimination which I felt was just too much to expect from you in only two weeks. So, instead, it will be a single-elimination tournament with five rounds.

After randomising the brackets I manually moved some of you around to ensure that you will not face off against another person on your own team until at least round three, with the exception of a 50% chance that two purple players may need to play against each other in round two. The Purple Team has the most players so I felt this was the fairest potential face-off. Also, only eighteen of you will battle in the first round - at least one member from each team will not have their first battle until round two.

Due to changing the tournament format I can also now give you extra time to arrange and complete your battles. The deadlines are as follows:

Round 1 must be completed by 11:59pm EDT on May 12th​
Round 2 must be completed by 11:59pm EDT on May 15th​
Round 3 must be completed by 11:59pm EDT on May 18th​
Round 4 must be completed by 11:59pm EDT on May 21st (Semifinals)​
Round 5 must be completed by 11:59pm EDT on May 23rd (Finals and Bronze Match)​

There won't be an official start time for each round, so you are free to go ahead and arrange your next battle as soon as you see who your next opponent is listed on Challonge. If you need extra time you must contact me directly to request it and I reserve the right to reject it if it'll disrupt the tournament too much.


How to Submit Results
Information on how to submit the battle results is in the opening post.

I will use the both the Accept Prefix and Accept React to let you know when I have confirmed the results.


How to Claim Your Points
On the morning of May 13th, 16th, 19th, and 22nd I will post in here with the results of the previous round and how many points you will earn. Please wait for this post and then link it in your team's Points Redemption Station so that your team captain can award you your points for that round's battle.

The results of round five will go up as soon as I have the results. I'm five hours ahead of EDT so there is a chance that this post may not go up until May 24th. Don't worry about this - as long as the results have been reported via the Private Contest and Events Submission board by 11:59pm EDT on May 23rd you are still eligible for points. If the winners aren't formally announced until after midnight then I'll report the results in your team's Points Redemption Station on your behalf so that your team captains don't hesitate to award your points.

@Vrisnem TYSM for your hard work in mathing this out and scheduling and reviewing teams and answering questions and just overall being awesome. I hope you still enjoy this work because the effort in running this is monumental. You are spreading so much fun!
 
I'm nervous too, and almost regret entering, as it will be nothing but embarrassing for me. I bought Sword like, 2 years after everyone else, and haven't been playing only but a few months. I did manage to beat the game already though! I just think I won't be as leveled up as everyone else. I'm also highly regretting one of my party choices. It seemed like a good idea at the time...
 
Also just a question: all Pokémon will be leveled to level 50 right?
