Hello dear TBT'ers!

I'm having a hard time eating well, though I really need to since I'm getting heavier and heavier. I think the main problem is not wanting to put a lot of time in making something nice to eat for breakfast or lunch so I usually eat chocolate or whatever.

What do you guys eat for breakfast/lunch which is quite quickly made and healthy? Whenever I look on the internet I just think it takes way too much time to make.

Please help me out here c:

for breakfast i usually have oatmeal, you can make it on the stovetop, or it can be as simple as putting oats, and water in a bowl, microwaving it for 5 mins and then adding sugar/syrup. as for lunch, you could always make a big batch of rice for the week, add in some canned beans, veggies (or you could make a stew or curry to go with it if you want) and use it for lunches throughout the week.

I'm often in a hurry, so for breakfast, I sometimes eat a bagel and a piece of fruit. I pack a lunch everyday. I don't have much time in the morning, so I buy fresh veggies and put them in zip lock baggies in the fridge. That way, I can just grab one from the fridge in the morning. I also buy tuna salad packets. I put one in my lunch box, and two slices of bread. Then I just make my sandwich at lunch time.

If you like cucumbers a thing I like to do lot is make cucumber chips! All you have to do is wash em ( i use hot water since its easier to peel it) grab a potatoes peeler (or a knife if you don't have a peeler of any kind) and peel em. You can cut em into sticks or into circles. i do circles. i salt and pepper them and if theres any around I use lemon juice from a lemon. It's really good and healthy! (if you aren't like me and add so much salt xd)

it's a healthy and gr8 snack hhh

I've been sick for a few years and tried lots of different diets, so I know how hard it can be to find healthy variety! One brekfast I loved was whole wheat bread topped with avocado slices and mozzarella, then toasted. While it's toasting, you cook an egg in a frying pan however you like your eggs, and then use that to top off the warm toast. It's delicious.

Mmmmm that sounds sooooo good. Man.

I can definitely offer some food choices you may or may not like, but they'll still be good for you, calorie wise. You wanna eat things that are high in vitamins, and minerals, and the like. But you don't have to eat super healthy foods all the time.

My diet is sort of strange, but it's working. I continue to eat just about whatever I want, but I still lose weight, because I count calories. I recommend an app called FitnessPal. By Under Armor I think? It's a food diary, that keeps track of what you eat, as long as you record in it, and then it'll also tell you how many calories you've spent and how many you have left to spend. It also tells you all kinds of nutritional facts. Anyways, when you first get started you input your current weight, your weight goal, your height, how much you exercise, and then how quickly you want to lose weight. Then it sorta gives you a calorie allowance. It's actually really simple. I've lost 36 pounds since February. I only dieted 6/7 days of the week, and cut almost no foods out of my diet. The only things I probably didn't have any more was milk and ice cream. I traded cow milk in for almond milk. It took a few weeks to get used to my diet though, because I was only taking in 1200 calories a day, but in no means did I ever go hungry or have to starve myself lol. It's all about what I chose to eat. I had to quit my diet for a few weeks, but I'm back on it again and working towards my goal weight! Almost there, and it feels great. :)

Cereal is a great choice, and there aren't a lot of cereals you have to avoid. Frosted flakes are my all time fave cereal, and when you pour almond milk over cereal, you almost cannot tell the difference. Almond milk is great. I enjoy soy milk as well, but almond milk is very healthy and low in calories. It also tastes a bit similar to cow milk, but you can still taste the almonds obviously. They make flavored almond milk as well. I don't like it straight, but I put in in like everything! Tea or Coffee is a great, low calorie, drink option that can perk you up in the morning! Oatmeal is always excellent, and even a small serving can fill you up. When I was dieting, the magic number for grains was 2. It was always two pieces of toast, or two toaster pastries. If you do toast, very light butter or jam is fine. Eggs are also good! I also like to do anywhere from 2-4 blueberry toaster waffles by kellogs. It's 200 calories for 2 waffles, and the blueberry waffles are already sweet by themselves, so I can eat them plain. No syrup or anything. I love the taste, and can enjoy some coffee or tea with them. :) It always fills me right up. If you ever worry about going hungry because you wanna eat better, find something that's tasty, but good for you. And then you can eat till it hurts! Although you really shouldn't haha. Cuz you expand your stomach and then get hungrier more easily. :l Anyways, good luck!

I think a lot of advice here will or won't be useful depending on whether you want to eat food that is inherently healthy, for the sake of overall better health, or whether you are mostly looking to lose weight. The previous poster has some awesome advice about losing weight (consistent calorie counting and excercise is pretty reliable as a method), but if you're actually looking to practice healthy eating, a lot of what is marketed as "nutritious" is really not all that beneficial. Foods like breakfast cereals, toaster waffles, and other processed foods aren't really going to help in that respect, even if they proudly declare "made with whole grains!" or whatever. Fruits and vegetables, meat and eggs, and whole grain bread are better there.

Do you like eggs? I like to make frittata muffins and freeze them. It is basically just eggs and any veggies, meat, and cheese you want mixed together and baked in a muffin tin. When they are done you can freeze the extras. To eat them in the morning just pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds or so and you are good to go! ^-^

For breakfast, I always like to eat weetabix with a few berries thrown in. Don't get me wrong, I do love my breakfasts but it's the lack of motivation that gets me, especially when I'm in a hurry to get to work in the mornings but weetabix is so simple and it means I don't have to stand around in the kitchen all morning.

For breakfast I usually have oatmeal but when I'm in a huge hurry I often just cut up a banana into some yogurt. I like having a wrap for lunch with hummus and veggies in it. I also usually need snacks during the day so I bring a small container of nuts or crackers to snack on in between classes.

For breakfast - oatmeal, yogurt with granola (you can buy a big tub and a big bag of granola -there's lots of kinds) or fruit, a quick toast w/ jam is nice with tea. You could even make smoothies the night before and drink them in the morning!
Lunch - salads, sandwiches (w/ bread or croissants), left over dinners - always a good choice, veggies, nuts or fruit you can snack on again if you're still hungry after lunch. :>

honestly, i just eat healthy cereal and soy milk. i'm lactose intolerant so i can't drink milk anyways. it fills me up and it's really quick, and tasty. that probably isn't the answer you'd like to hear, but i just think it's healthy and easy.

My eating habits are really bad, similar to you because I just don't have the time/inclination to make anything decent. Mostly I avoid breakfast and lunch completely. When I do have breakfast I use a breakfast shake. They started doing things like weetabix drinks now with added protein, they're actually quite filling and you can have it on the go rather than needing to sit down and eat. Saves time and they're healthy

Use dry Rice Chex

Toast with jelly and butter is what I usually have for breakfast and smoothies are also a good option. c:

Oh I have the same kinda thing!
My healthiest breakfast is two hard boiled eggs, and a piece of fruit. It fills me up enoguh, and doesn't have too many calories.

Just boil some eggs the day before and make enough to last a few days!
