Yes, maybe in Northern US, but in my city in Canada where we have meters of snow and ice, no one shovel all their driveway anymore, some have temporary garages that they can rent as well, so they would have less to shovel but even so, they pay someone to do it, or have their own snowblower (that costs way more than the service). It cost around $400-500 (a year), or less for just the snow in front of the garage. It's a necessity, I think people will cut internet and many other things before that. It's really too hard and when banks of snow are super high (where I live it can reach the roof), it's just impossible to throw the snow there and if the snow goes in the street the fine is $500 (not a year). Just cleaning the snow off the car and shoveling in front of the door is tiresome enough.
