For me, I think random/Streetpass/Wifi+Void move-ins tend me annoy me. I'd been lurking for a Muffy on the Villager forums for a while, and got contacted this morning that she was moving out and all mine. Of course as fate would have it, Vic decided to put up the ropes for his new property in our village today... and while he does seem to be a really cool Villager, the whole ordeal just leaves me sour... I hope I don't hold it against him, ugh.

Anyone else have little pet peeves like this, about the things in the game that you have little to no outside control over?

That exact thing happened to me, I posted about it and the problem fixed itself xD but yeah, I've had two random move-ins in the last week that ruined a bamboo forest with a fancy path I was trying to make. I also hate when I'm talking to a villager, and another villager pings me and I can't get out of the conversation fast enough to see what they want.

I saw the title and was going to say pitfalls, but you're right that Streetpass villagers are THE worst thing about the game. I went to pick up Apollo once and couldn't figure out whyyyyyyyyy he wasn't offering to come with me. Then I got back home and found a 10th plot roped off. I was furious.

And it turned out to be Rod. ROD. *fumes*

Void moves in are bad, but they can also be helpful. For example in one of my other towns a villager I liked had moved away (no longer in boxes, gone) and since I wanted to save said villager I had my other town's mayor go to that town, and then pick up the villager via void, so I was able to save the villager. There should be an option to turn on and off void move-ins.

The most annoying random thing in the game is not random move ins, but random move OUTS.

I totally agree. That's probably the thing that bugs me the most.
A few weeks ago I went out of state, so I had to go to the airport. I tagged a crap ton of people, and sure, it's cool when they have good furniture that you can order. So anyways, one day I went to my campsite and my dreamie (Cousteau) was in there! I was so happy, so I waited and waited for him to suggest him to move in. When I got sick of waiting after 20 minutes, I knew something was up. So I went around town, and sure enough, there was a little roped area. It was Drift, by the way.
I still hate Drift.

I don't like visiting with people or Streetpassing anymore if I have less than 10 villagers because I don't want to pick up a voided villager. :(

I turn the Streetpass off in the game whenever I go outside and I have 9 or less villagers. As much as I loathe random move-ins, sometimes clearing the void via Streetpass helps. Nobody plays ACNL around my place, so it's a pain to clear my void.

Villagers suddenly changing their clothes from Somebody from Anytown or getting influenced by a villager wearing ugly clothes also tick me off. Genji was wearing that white Somebody from Anytown shirt and he looks naked.

Random move-outs are the worst, especially if it was one of my favorite villagers. I hate that we get punished for not playing for a while. Some people have busy lives :(

As for random move-ins, I try to be really careful about those. I have 10 villagers now, so I don't have to worry about them at the moment (a villager who I don't really like is moving out on the 12th, finally...). When I had less than 9 villagers and was susceptible to random move-ins, I'd always do the new file trick everyday to scope out the area and see if there were any new villagers, and then from there I would decide if I wanted to keep him/her or not.

I don't bring my 3DS out of the house much, so I don't really have to worry about Streetpass villagers. Although, my sister also has her own 3DS and copy of ACNL (she moved out of my town), and after getting 3 of my villagers, she turned her Streetpass off ^^"

Vic moved in from the void for me too! I had Apollo, so I didn't plan to like him, but he was SUPER nice. I still wanted him to move though. Then Apollo surprised me by moving, so now I've basically accepted him into my town. It's fun to take trash, and make them treasure (no offense Vic)

I agree! The random move-outs and ins are really frustrating. I just moved someone out that I got from someone else's void only to get another random villager from someone else's void that I don't care for. If either of them were uchis I would've been happy, but now I'm stuck with 10 villagers again. I personally don't like getting villagers that have been from other player's town (I don't know why. It's just annoying), so I'm a little frustrated. The upside is that the new villager planted their house somewhere I didn't know was possible, and so am happy to discover a house can fit there (Antonio and Marshal - why did they put their houses in the worst places?).

I'm thinking of doing the villager re-set trick, but not to keen on it destroying more of my grass and having to try anticipate new villagers. I'm not bothered enough for that.

Rarity of some bug/fishes/diving creatures.. especially the latte since they always move outside of the rope :(

And yeah random move-outs, or when the ones you want to move never ping you.

Voided villagers moving into your town, I don't care if it's my cycle town. But if its my main town or secondary town then we have a problem. Just last year I had a villager move out to only get a void I could'nt stand move in.

To get rid of the shirt thing, just change all the designs in able sisters to any random old thing--but as umbrellas or hats. They won't wear them then :)

Also the rng as for ping.. like you really need someone to move out but then all the others ping you instead.

Also when they pick up stupid catchphrases >>

I hate random move outs and random move ins. I also LOATHE when I'm having an unlucky day and keep tripping all over the place.

yeah i mean im too lazy to put on whatever shizz since i always wear the wetsuit...

I used to really like random move-ins, I've always been incredibly lucky, and have gotten Whitney, Kabuki, Bianca, Colton and more. I guess I care a lot more now I've layed out my time and don't want people to move in wherever, but when I was first playing, it was neat.

I hate tripping. Just... why? D:
