Akise nodded. "Yeah, 3 years and 7 years isn't too bad, I suppose." Akise looked over at Kaida, noticing the assortment of cuts on her thighs. Akise quickly shifted her eyes back in front of her, not to stare.

Akise looked at Kaida again. "Oh, broke up with him, I suppose?"

"Ah, well, we all have our own pains and bruises. I, myself, fought in the war for a short seige." He said. His voice was proud but his eyes were hollow. "We were defeated..I don't know what happened to my squad." His voice turned incredibly somber.

Kaida looked over to Akise, "I don't know what happened to that fool." Kaida was daydreaming, "I do wonder what happened to Takumi.." Kaida didn't remember that she was the one who killed him.

Akise turned towards him, sympathetic. "Oh... if they passed away, at least you will always have the memories of the good times. Maybe even one of them survived. You can never lose hope." she said, giving him a slight smile.

Akise looked over at Kaida. "She probably can't remember. She's drunk." Akise thought. "Maybe he just stopped talking to you and went away," Akise suggested with a shrug. "People can sometimes just do that."

"Nah, all I remember last is him hooking up with me," Kaida gave herself a chuckle. Kaida then look up at the sky.

He returned a polite smile. "Thank you for the sympathy, I mean it."

The horrors of the war was still fresh in his mind. After it all, it seemed clear that the war was only fought for selfish governmental reasons, and the innocent paid the price.

She nodded, eyes blank and fixated on the road, lost in memory. "I understand what it's like to lose so many friends."

Kaida held onto Satoshi tightly, she burried her face into his chest.

Akise smiled at the couple, walking a bit behind so that they could have some space. She remembered when she used to do that. It not been long, but it felt like decades. Still, she was happy that someone else could still find love in this dusty, broken city.

They arrived at the complex. He set Kaida down under a tree and approached Akise.

"I'm looking to go out and scavenge, if you would like to join me." He said. He then spoke in a whisper. "Mostly because I don't want to deal with Ms. Drunk over there.."

Akise grinned. "Sure. She probably need to sleep anyway." She pulled out a shotgun from her crossbody black leather bag. Akise remembered when she had the money to buy such glamourous things. Money didn't matter now that the city was an absolute wreck. "I could probably use some practice with this, anyway." Akise mentioned, loading the small gun.

Kaida slumped down by the tree. Max walked over to Kaida, he looked her in the eyes. Kaida sat up and pressed her nose against his, she giggled.

"Why does everyone have a gun except me..." He sighed. "I guess this will do." He unsheathed his dagger.

"Let us go, then. The city awaits, who knows what we could find? Plus, shotguns are cool."

Akise grinned widely, happy about the chance to finally escape her prim, proper world of parties and manners and do some exploring. "The city awaits." she agreed.

Kaida fell backwards, she stuck her tongue out playfully. Max laid down next to Kaida. Kaida rolled over, she hugged Max. Kaida felt her eyes slowly close, as she fell asleep, with her arms still around Max. Max also closed his eyes, he then fell asleep.

(Goodnight.)

(Night, Pok Pok!)

He smiled. "Off we go~!" He said, as he ran off into the city. He looked at the street sign. 59th Street. He tried his best to remember it. He ran slowly so Akise could catch up.

Akise kicked off her shoes, running through the streets and leaping over rubble, quickly catching up to Satoshi, a big dopey smile on her face. Not ladylike in the slightest.

Satoshi smiled. "That's more like it." He picked up his pace, as she was running. He looked around for whatever he may be able to pick up or throw that had an impact.
