Saddest Celebrity Death of this year?

Prince was a sad death as I listened to him a lot
And of course David Bowie

But Christina Grimmie's death was just so uncalled for. I never actually listened to her before (pls dont hurt me) but stranger or no stranger, murdering people isn't an excuse, and will never be an excuse

the one that has affected me the most is probably christina grimmie, i was subscribed to her on youtube and i really liked her covers and stuff when i was like 12. it was really weird and sad how she just was shot and died and gone...

Anton Yelchin, he was way too young. :(

Also, bringing this thread back because '16 is over now.

Hmm I'm not sad about any of them tbh

I've heard of a couple of the more famous people but...I have no idea who the rest are ;;

George Micheal.
I was devasted, honestly. Even thinking about it almost makes me cry.

Alan Rickman's death was definitely saddening. No, his death has no impact on my life. But it was disappointing. I grew up with the Harry Potter movies.

It's not 2016 anymore, but I'm going to have to say either David Bowie or Carrie Fisher. I think it's a toss up, honestly.
However, it was terrible that Debbie Reynolds died just one day after her daughter did.

Was never into his music, but I remember feeling deeply saddened by David Bowie's death simply for his performance in Labyrinth. That movie was a major part of my childhood and I watched it again recently, it definitely left a lingering sadness after watching it knowing that he's no longer with us. Such a shame.

I know it's a few years ago now but I felt the same way when Robin Williams died, probably even more so.

I had to add to this because I thought back over the deaths of 2016, and the one that really upset me the most was Christina Grimmie. I remember I woke up at like five in the morning the day after, and I checked my phone and read the news from my Twitter notifications. I took a bath and just sat in the water and cried. It didn't really feel real. I wasn't a fan of Christina's, I just knew of her from being on the Internet. There was just something so sad and scary about someone so young being killed, and for what reason? It was different from a lot of the other deaths, I guess, because it wasn't illness or natural causes. Just needless violence.
I do remember it being similar when David Bowie died because I once again was up at the crack of dawn and it being so quiet and dark in my house was really unnerving and sad.
Alan Rickman's death didn't have the same impact on me as it would have had it been even just a month later. I hadn't touched anything to do with Harry Potter until early 2016 when I was in the hospital for multiple procedures and asked my dad to start reading the first book aloud to me. We ended up reading all of them like that, and watching each movie after we finished its book counterpart. I definitely would have cried my eyes out, had it been after seeing the first movie.
And Debbie Reynolds was really hard because she was Grandma Aggie in the Halloweentown movies, and because she went so soon after her daughter.

hmm. i remeber posting robin williams back then despite it being the different year, because he was the only celebrity that really stuck with me. his voice in aladdin and him playing peter pan in hook. the others weren't entirely memorable. most i never heard of until their deaths, but for 2016, carrie fisher definitely had me.

i dont know. i never really felt so connected with celebrities to a point where i would cry if they were to be gone. but i understand for other fans who praise and love them alot because of the effect they had on their lives. and even more sympathies for the families who lost their relative.
