Seasons you like in Animal Crossing, dislike in real life

I'm wondering if I'm the only one. Autumn is my second least favourite season in real life, as I hate the feeling of it getting darker and colder with winter, my least favourite season, in the distance. I find the prospect depressing, and even though I left school several years ago, a part of me still associates it with returning to school, which I always hated. I do have a fall birthday but with it being in late November it's still nearly 3 months away at this point!

In Animal Crossing, I think autumn is possibly my favourite season ironically. It has two of my favourite festivals, Halloween and Harvest Festival, neither of which I really celebrate in real life but I love in Animal Crossing as I enjoy festivals that have activities to do rather than collecting something, and the summer festivals don't really do it for me. I also enjoy the changing colours, and while I do like them in real life it's more a symbol of things I don't like than something to be fully enjoyed. I also enjoy the break from the endless whine of cicadas in summer which I find really annoying.

I think part of the reason for these contrasting attitudes for me is that the things that I hate most about this time of year in real life- the darker nights and colder days- don't really impact me in game so I can enjoy the time of year more.

Does anyone else feel similarly about any other season?

Where I live, it's basically always spring and summer. We get cooler months but the coldest is 60F. I like spring and fall a lot in real life. Usually the temperature is really mild and nice.

In-game, I dislike spring, haha. It's so boring to me. Not a big fan of the cherry blossoms either. I like them in real life but in game, it's alright. I like in-game fall because I don't get to experience that array of autumn colors. Winter is really fun because snow is nonexistent unless you head into the mountains. I don't mind summer because I enjoy the sound of cicadas. I always hear them outside my window singing; so it's a sound I'm used to.

i agree, i love autumn and winter in animal crossing but not so much irl, this time of the year always feels so much more busy in animal crossing bc of all the events.

My favourites are the same as in IRL.
Best: Winter
Okay: Spring
Nice, but frustrating: Summer
Hated: Fall
I hate fall due to the colors, grass and plants gets gross looking, like we're on an alien planet, it's cold, but not in the cozy winter way.
Honestly almost thought of just TTing back to spring to avoid fall in game, it's so gross looking, especially the grass.

I love summer in AC because it's so green and warm looking, wheras where I live it's basically 4 months (I don't know when 3 became 4 lol) of uncomfortable sweltering humidity and dead grass if it's not constantly watered...

Also winter in AC has snow which we never get here and fall has orange trees which we only sometimes see here.

I like every season better in AC since they actually all look different.

Winters can be harsh where I live (temperatures can drop to as low as -35 to -40 Celsius), freezing rain, and a lot of snow. It’s a pain to get around.

It’s pretty in Animal Crossing though. The amount of snow remains the same, the furniture looks cool, and I actually enjoy exploring. Ready to start catching snowflakes ❄

I like summer and spring, autumn too, in RL, but in NH, I only like summer and spring.

I live in Australia where it doesn't snow, and I find it very depressing, bland, and hard on my eyes.
It's one color that blankets everything.

Winter has always been the reason for me eventually deleting every one of my AC towns since WW 2005.

Three months of blinding white is a nightmare.
It gives me severe occular migraines and I wish nintendo would make it optional, or allow those who don't like it in the southern hemisphere, to have the option of a proper winter.

Cold, without snow.

On to autumn.

The puce green is sickening.
It's september 1st in the game, and I TT'd to september 2nd to see it without the rain.

It made the in game fake dirt paths look even more fake.
Whoever does the graphics needs to actually leave their office, take a walk outside and have a good look around at nature.

No puce green grass. :(

Yeah I've actually been kind of dreading winter to come on AC, in previous games the weeks of blinding white always started making me sick of playing. Also my island and all its decorations look so much better with green.

I also live in Australia but set the opposite hemisphere, so maybe it'll at least help me feel colder during the 40 Celcius days...

In NH I only like Spring and Summer both seasons look amazing in game. I do not like winter and autumn is just 🤮 I don't like the colour theme during autumn the grass colours and mushroom diys is a pass for me haha.

I love all seasons because the different make it exciting to experience throughout the different time of the year. It is something Im looking forward to.

IRL:
Love all seasons, they're all unique for different reasons :)

In ACNH:
Hate summer and winter, summer events almost always tend to have the most boring events, and the snow always looks kinda off and I just can't get over it. The snow will look even worse in ACNH because I built my island to look good during spring/summer/autumn, but it will look poop during winter with snow everywhere.

Because I live on a tropical island that's just a single degree off the Equator, where it's too hot and too humid all year long, I'm going to say I like all the seasons in the game, even summer. Summer in the game is full of bright colours and fun insects to catch.

I enjoy spring and autumn in real life. My favourite seasons. Whenever I get to travel out of the country, I always choose to visit another country where it's spring or autumn. I love seeing the leaves change colour. It's an experience that feels as near miraculous to me as watching snow swirl down from a dark winter sky because, where I am, these things don't happen. Autumn in New Horizons is odd, though. The colours are not warm and red enough, if that makes any sense. In particular, I don't like the way the ground looks. It's a sickly colour. I don't recall feeling this way about autumn when I was playing WW and NL. Maybe it's just me.

The season I like least is winter. It's too cold. I always avoid travelling to any country in winter. I've tried it, having been on two ski trips, but I've concluded that winter is not for me. I like winter in the game when it starts but I know I will begin to wish it was spring before we're even halfway through winter.

Animal Crossing will always be, to me, a special game because I get to experience the seasons in real time. I appreciate it so much because the real world I live in has no seasons. 😭

My favorite season, both in-game and IRL, is fall. I love the colors, the items that come out, clothes, and my favorite holiday is Halloween.

In-game, I love winter, because it's fun playing around, but it's my least favorite IRL.

My favorite seasons irl are fall and winter. I like when it's cold and there's no gross bugs around...so I hate summer irl haha
In-game tho, I like all seasons, seeing change in island's color palette every month is really cool.

i hate the cold so winter is my least favourite season, though in animal crossing winter always brings me so much joy. just the thought of toy day coming and that special wintery touch to the soundtrack to the background, and the toy day song is my absolute favourite soundtrack out of all of AC soundtracks. the snow on the trees and bushes and everything just makes it feel so whimsical and fun!! it reminds me of old movies that would come on during winter that i love, then i start getting happy. i remember always writing down or memorizing what every one of my villagers wanted for toy day, i love love LOVE dressing up as Jingle and giving them the present i know they wished for, and seeing the big smile on their face! building snowmen in the game and collecting the Jingle furniture, especially the piano, just makes it feel somewhat surreal. overall, it just makes me super happy. i love the feeling December brings, thats the only thing that gets me to tolerate the wintery cold.

My favourite season in real life is probably spring but I'm not as big a fan of it in Animal Crossing. Winter is my least favourite season but I enjoy it a lot in Animal Crossing because of all the snow (it very rarely snows where I am) and I just associate it with a kind of cosiness. Plus I'm not sure how the Christmas event will go in New Horizons but I've always enjoyed that.

My favorite season IRL is fall, but animal crossing it's spring! Especially cherry blossom season! In real life, I hate spring because of my seasonal allergies. I love to experience it in AC, though!
