Not sure if this has ever been mentioned, or if there's anything like a Suggestions thread for the website itself I could post this in, but I was just thinking:

If users want to consistently post using different fonts, font sizes, and/or font colors, would it be possible to have the BBCode 'locked' into their text box every time they go to post something? That way, you don't have to manually type in the code every single time, since that obviously becomes tedious. (This would likely be a feature in Account details, the same place you change your custom title and things like that.)

I've seen this type of feature implemented on other forums I've been on in the past. So, just thought I'd point this out to see if it's something possible or considerable here as well.

honestly i'm kiiiinda glad tbt doesn't have this, there's already a handful of people who make their posts in barely-readable pastel text whose posts i just deliberately scroll by
Haha, totally understandable! I was thinking similarly as well; having to manually type in the BBCode every time would certainly discourage many, if not most, from making their text potentially illegible like that. So, either way, I get it.

I understand the concerns about people typing in obnoxiously bright colors and such (which, personally, I haven't really seen on this forum). But I'd like to think that those people wouldn't have the sense to actually understand or type out the BBCode in the first place, much less use any feature that will make it semi-permanent. Instead, they probably just rely on the text editor bar for the most part.

I could code a chrome extension to do that, I did it on another forum aswell.
Are there extensions like that already? If so, then whoever wants it (and can use it responsibly lol) can just get it for themselves.

nahh tbh kawaii pastel people are usually really good coders since they wanna make everything ~aesthetic~, i respect it but i wish they would take People With Eyes into consideration

I mistook this as a low effort agreement post, just quoting and saying nothing. 😆
Guilty. That’s what I thought it was. I like making my bullet points in the cobalt color, and sometimes make the text a little smaller when I’m typing a lot, but that’s about it.

maybe if they add something like this there could be a rule for making posts that are basically illegible or are hard to read due to the font/color. cause it is pretty ridiculous anyways and even if it does look "cute" it's also annoying.

or we could just not add this feature lol 🤷

As you may be able to tell by the reactions in this thread, having to read tiny/coloured text is not appreciated by the majority of people. Even with a rule against illegible formatting it would be hard to define exactly what is and what isn't allowed, and we don't think it would be a good idea to introduce such a setting as a site feature nor as a script.

Darn it, I started on a tampermonkey script but if y'all don't think it's a good idea, I'll stop.

As a team we unanimously agree this is not a feature we would want to add to the site. If we wanted to introduce it we would create it ourselves.
