Why does everyone hate Sonic now? I love the new Sonic. I could never get into Sonic during his Genesis days. Plus I was a Nintendo fanboy back then, too. I didn't get into Sonic until he came to GameCube in SA2:B. I've played all the classic Sonic games on Mega and Gems Collection, but they just aren't as fun as 3D Sonic.

Nintendo and Sega have you under some terrible spell.

Mario, ]have[/i] played other games, just for the record. Although I'm strickly a Nintendo gamer, I'll play a Sony of Microsoft game if a friend wants me to try it out. And guess what? I never end up liking them. They just don't have what I look for in a game.

Back on the subject of Sonic and the Black Knight... I just got finished playing it for a few hours. I can say one thing; Sonic + a sword = WIN! I can see that some people might not like the idea, but I personally love it. It's really fun. And the music is GREAT! OH! Speaking of music, Knuckles and Shadow's themes from SA2 are used!! I almost had a heart attack when I heard Throw It All Away start to play when Shadow (Lancelot) appeared. I couldn't recognize the theme used for Blaze, so I assume it's new. Apparently Silver and Jet are knights, too, but I haven't encountered them yet. I wonder if they'll use their past themes or have new ones... Anyway, I'm glad that some SA2 music got in. ^_^

If a character fits in Smash, then that's what I'm talking about. I don't think Snake belongs in Smash Bros. at all. He's just not the type... There are some non-Nintendo/Sonic characters with that special something, though, like Mega Man and Bomberman. Although I don't really care for their games, they have that certain iconic thing going on.

It's just the way I see them, okay. When I think "video games", I think of Mario, Sonic, Zelda... Not Halo, Final Fantasy, etc. They're not colorful and original like Nintendo.

This is what I've been trying to say.
In your point of view, they might not be iconic or mascots at all.
But in a 360/PS3 gamer's point of view, they are mascots because they were in the games that revolutionized the company and the console.

i liked shadow the hedhog but i got through it very fast but it wasnt the greatest

In your point of view, they might not be iconic or mascots at all.
But in a 360/PS3 gamer's point of view, they are mascots because they were in the games that revolutionized the company and the console.

All bias aside, from what I have played (and I've played more than you'd think), I just can't get into like I can Nintendo and Sonic games. They're just not my taste. Does that make me "fail"? Because I just don't like Sony/Microsoft games? Everyone has their own tastes, and I happen to be very picky. Nintendo satisfies my needs in a game. That may not be the case for other people. That doesn't make their opinions facts, though. Everyone likes different games. No game if worse than any other just because you don't like it.
