Sports fans discussion

I keep up with the NBA and NFL during playoff szn. When it comes to basketball, I go for the Lake Show 💛💜 and I'm less invested in football, but I keep an eye on the Saints, Raiders, and the Rams.

I watch baseball more than anything and I've made it well know that my team is the Los Angeles Dodgers 😩💙. I've been a Dodger fan for life growing up always in the LA area and the franchise has been through some dark and abysmal periods but ever since Magic Johnson and co. got their hands on the team, it's been a gradual upswing. Fast-forward to present day, they are the current World Series Champions and making flashy moves in the offseason doing everything they can to become a dynasty in the 2020's! It's a good time to be a Dodger fan but man oh man does the rest of the league hate on them right now 🤣

oh and since it's NFL playoff season, let me just say i'm very excited for the kendrick lamar halftime show and for someone to hopefully knock off the chiefs this year 😭

While I'm not all that into sports, I do have some teams I like and pay attention to. Been a fan of the Baltimore Ravens since they became a team because of a bunch of silly factors; Edgar Allan Poe and his short story The Raven being the namesake, birds being my favorite animals and crows and ravens being some of my absolute favorite birds next to penguins, their logo, and their color scheme since purple is my favorite color.

Disappointing loss and they're now out of the playoffs. Bad first half, a crazy comeback in the second half, but a potential game tying 2-point play was ruined by the receiver not getting a firm enough grasp on the ball when catching in the end zone in the final minutes.

Bummer.

I'm not like sad or anything, as again, I'm not that invested in sports, but still sucks. Especially after last year's loss in the AFC Championships and missing out on the Super Bowl.
Bleh.

Lamar Jackson seems crazy good from my admittedly narrow view, but also based on what I've consistently seen said about him and that comeback in the second half was wild. Wish he could get to the Super Bowl and get a ring already, but it seems like last season was their season if they were going to do it and it just...wasn't. Someday. Maybe. I hope, lol.

I'm hoping that literally any other team, whether it's the Bills in the AFC Championship or whoever wins in the NFC Championship, beats the Chiefs because, as a casual fan, these dominant teams like the Chiefs and formerly the Patriots years ago are kind of annoying and boring if you want to see different teams.
Also just not fond of Kelce, gotta be honest. I don't think anyone's beating the Chiefs this season though. Hell, I don't think the Ravens would've defeated the Chiefs, but ya never know.

such a disappointing loss for the ravens especially since they were so close. i guess im rooting for the commanders now.

I love baseball! there's nothing ike the sound of the crack of a bat when it hits a ball just right. the Nats are my team but I've been trying to pay more attention to the Blue Jays since they'll be my local team soon. right now I'm local to the Rockies but I don't care much about them one way or the other. Coors Field is a great stadium though

I honestly couldn't really care less about football but my mom has desperately wanted to see the Bills win a Super Bowl my whole life, so I hope it can happen for her

Terunofuji retired from sumo. Can’t say I’m surprised. I thought he was at his peak around 2017 (when I started watching), but his knees have been messed up lately. It’s the best decision for his health.

With his retirement, I wonder who will be the next Yokozuna? Hoshoryu stands out to me…he reminds me of Hakuho with his dramatic expressions.

Ura will always be the “People’s Yokozuna!” (according to Reddit)

Goodness... your post took me through several emotions. Let's get the "bad stuff" out of the way 😆 I grew up in Northern California, so I am a Warriors fan and Giants fan. So as you you know the in-state rivalry is strong between northern and southern California! (In more ways than just sports 😄)!!!

But, you mentioned you sort of follow the Raiders, and I can get on board with that!

I can REALLY get on board with anyone who wants the Cheifs to lose! If the Bills dont beat the Cheifs, I would love to see the Commanders and their rookie QB Daniels finish his huge splash into the league!

Anyway, I hate certain teams but I dont hate the fans. So I wont treat you any different for a couple of your team choices!!

It's funny, I Ike the Raven's for many of the same reasons, and I also hope Lamar gets his moment! He is fun to watch! The Ravens have kind of become my adopted third favorite team over a long many years!

As far as the Cheifs, please... someone please beat them... also I was cool with Travis Kelce, until they started showing Taylor Swift in the stands every time he made a play.

I had no issue with Swift either, but put those two together and I can't take it anymore. Please stop showing her cheering!!! Omg... 😆

So excited for this super bowl... really hoping the Chiefs can pull it off, just because I have a close friend who's a longtime Chiefs fan and I really don't like the Eagles, lmao. We'll see though!

not me falling to my knees in the kitchen reading this cause you're going against green 🤣

To be honest if the Commanders had won I'd be slightly in favor of them, but my entire family and I hate the Eagles, lol. No chance in heck I want them to win, regardless of team color.

Actually, on that note the only team I hate more than the Eagles is the Packers. So uh yeah, team color really has nothing to do with it for me. 💀

I really hate the Eagles. To be honest, not really into NFL, but my two least favorite teams are the Eagles and Giants. They always have been.

I hope the Chiefs can win.

As a Raiders fan I can definitely not cheer for the Cheifs with them being a long time division rival.

I am not exactly excited about cheering for the Eagles, but for me it's a no brainer between the two!

I really wish the Bills could have won today though! Commanders as well, but that was a long shot.

I can definitely understand that! I hope teams win sometimes because of my friends too. I was really cheering on the Lions this year because of a close friend. But...

Here we are in a rematch.

Yeah, I wanted the Lions to win the entire thing initially because of someone else I know, but they flopped pretty hard, lol. So now the only team that's left that I care about is the Chiefs.

I will say that it feels like the Eagles have the best chance of defeating the Chiefs this time around, but it definitely depends on how they execute.

As I'm not that invested in sports and don't really pay attention to the other teams all that much, I don't know how the Eagles stack up against the Chiefs this year and don't know if they have a chance of actually beating them. But since my Ravens lost last week, I'm supporting the Eagles in the Super Bowl. It's another bird-themed team, good enough, haha.

Would've preferred a Bills-Eagles or Bills-Commanders Super Bowl just for something different and since dynasties are annoying, but alas.

I think everyone hates dynasties unless your a fan of that team!

I am a Golden State Warrios fan, and I have had some hate, but it's hard when their star is Steph Curry. People seem to hate the team, but not Steph.

Draymond on the other hand...
