Mafia Squeaky Clean Mafia - Day 3 - Ends Monday May 25 at 7pm EST

you seem self obsessed
like any reasonable mafia player youre slightly more concerned with clout than winning the game, the urge to parade how well you did last game is probably irresistible to you which is understandable because good games tend to stick with you
the "theres something different about you" or "theyre giving me scum vibes" arguments irritate me to no end but I've yet to find that this logic is alignment indicative at all
at best i have a vague town read on you but the more important thing to me is how useful discourse around these aspects have been for reading other slots, like antonio, their suspicion of you feels entirely based on the rest of the threads pressure against you and their inability to put into exact words anything that makes them suspect you doesnt look good to me
Well, you're blunt about me being self-obsessed and I'm honestly a little hurt you're judging me like that when we don't know each other very well, and even more confused about why you call me self-obsessed then try and justify it straight after, but that's beside the point. I certainly agree with you that this situation can give us insight into others, but whether I agree or not if you're looking it the right place depends on whether or not Antonio was right that mafia sees me as a threat. If they're right, I think the best place to look might be in those who are pushing lightly but not heavily on me right now, as getting me mislynched would be good but obviously wouldn't want to be turned on for 'why did you push Dino so much, she flipped town'.

I think DinoTown has been on the defense the entire game but barely has done anything to push and that is where'd my suspicions came from I just didn't know how to properly phrase it at the time. I also agree she has more of an ego compared to last game even though this is her second game.

She's more defense and no offense is what I am saying. However, I don't know how her offense game differs from the last game.
One thing specchat pointed out last game was that, even in the endgame, I didn't push much when I maybe should. I think that's just a thing I need to work on in general.

Update: I had my lithotripsy and recovering well :) I’m so glad I don’t have to write a post today

friendly reminder to keep it clean :) noone is doing anything bad now, but remember this is just a game and playing it doesn’t mean someone is personally attacking. Which means there is no need to get upset. Good job everyone

Sorry I’m still loopy from anesthesia

I wouldn't call Dino 'self-obsessed' more than I would 'concerned about in-thread perception and very talkative'. Not saying that's AI since we all want to live here, especially given she's new, but yeah. Personally I am completely null on Dino.

Hey, good to hear you're doing okay!

I disagree, I think her first post came off as self-obsessed.

"single-handedly" saved the town and got MVP
It's not her first but second, this part is what I am referring to.

Hard disagree. Her first post feels pretty standard to me, especially given she was staying up just to post that. It's a bit uncomfortable and 'receptionist' energetic, seeing as she doesn't know a good amount of people in this game well, but still.

Sorry, I made a mistake. It was the second post. My memory is terrible. ;-;

I quoted the part as well that i felt was self-obsessed.

See this is my problem; I feel like you're 'preparing to play' rather than actually playing.

You're not really actively trying to 'figure anything out' right now. Rather than attempting to glean intent from your posts, it's felt like you're playing passive and only responding to what's asked. That's why I was asking about how you generally handle things; you clearly think there most be a logical backing behind a vote, yet rather than weigh in on the scumminess/lack thereof of individuals, you've just been floating along or responding to me specifically. I get there hasn't been a lot in thread yet, but even still, there has definitely been things to comment on that you haven't (such as Trundle and Dino).

I wouldn't say passively, more calmly, you see if I point out something about a situation that is ongoing atm, I will create a spotlight on me that I won't be able to sustain, either by attacking or defending them, if I've answered your question at that time, I wouldn't have taken into consideration the last few post, and my input could have been useless to the conversation. Now I can tell that if both Antonio and Dino survive the night and they still post the way they do, it means they are most likely townies or on different sides of the game, If they change the way they communicate, it means they are part of the mafia. Not because any of them is being scummish , but because they already expressed the way their relationship will unraveled during this.

@toadsworthy glad everything went okay.

that would be another way of putting it
either way they are more invested in themselves than others at this point which could just be a result of the threadflow, i dont have any baseline to compare to

yikes. i dont really wanna say "poor dino" but i also dont, not wanna say it. "damned if you do, damned if you don't"

it seems a bit crazy to me that this all started off of one seemingly average (at least from my pov) introductory post, but i admire the attention to detail and inability to let anything fly under the radar.

i'm not leaning town on trundle at all, while i get that it'd be risky for mafia to do that right off the bat, it makes perfect sense. stir up some suspicions, don't really back them up too much and then fade into the background and leave everyone to lynch the wrong person.

though, kinda funny how trundle said this:

We haven't seen Dino as mafia yet so I think it's just something to watch for now.

yet some have managed to run quite far with it.

happy to hear you're doing well toad~

This is an interesting thought and I don't have anything to add besides that I think it's a possibility.

you asked me what i thought of you
i shared what i currently think of you
you might think that what i said is more negative than i do but its honestly okay to be proud of ones performance in a game as difficult as mafia you shouldnt feel bad about it, plus all mafia players act like this, its part of the culture

I think it's more of a possiblity rather then not a possibility. I don't think Trundle had much of a basis to scum read someone that early in the game.

If my pride in my achievement is so normal, why do you think the others seeming to pick on it so much as making me looking scummy or otherwise bad?

I quoted the part as well that i felt was self-obsessed.
you good lul. That said, still disagree. It feels more enthusiastic and verbose to me than self obsessed. If I just did something new and ended up being really good at it (or even just being told I did really well), I would definitely feel a lot stronger and confident going into the next time following. I think they were trying to explain their enthusiasm rather than simply laying it out on their table, and they definitely seem to tend to like to be verbose.

What if everyone adopted this mindset of 'waiting to give input until there is a clearer picture'? Nothing would get done.

Also re: 'I will create a spotlight on me that I won't be able to sustain': Can you elaborate on this?

Thank you for reminding me of this word - yes, I am very verbose, especially when it's on a topic I feel comfortable talking about.

Because it's out of behavior for you compared to last game?
I get that, but are you not factoring in that my mindset between this game and last is VERY different considering what went down last game?

I am terrible at understanding tone so I usually don't base my opinions around it, only motives and suspicions. I feel like self-obsessed and confident are quite close though in terms of definition with the only difference being one having a negative connotation (self-obsessed) and the other having a positive connotation (confident).

I think she was confident and self-obsessed!?
