Corinna looks around, only to find them all passed out. She didn't know why, but they were.
"Zari? Valeria? Opal? Amethyst? Opals owner?" she said as tears started flowing down her cheeks. She was lost, all on her own.
The only choice she had was to find out how to break the enchantment.
But instead she found a note carved in the ruby which said:

The child of July will be the only to hold this, to be intellegent enough to break this enchantment. The child may be holding it, but within, bad luck runs to even the pure child of July

Valeria woke up. "Huh, Corinna? Why are you crying?" Valeria asked the girl as she hugged her tight. "Come on, let's get out of this dump." What she meant was to explore more into the garden, get rid of the enchantment.

Corinna fell to the ground. "I think my wing is injured... I'm weak, I can't fly." Corinna said. She looked at her wing, which has a big tear in it. "It... hurts." She sasid then closed her eyes and slept.

Valeria looked at her wing. "That does look painful.." She said as she touched the wing gently. Corinna winced. "I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do that!" Valeria yelped.

"I-I.." Valeria was about to say something, but Corinna suddenly passed out. "Zari? Opal? Tyla? Anyone?" Valeria yelled. She cried. She was alone, with no one.
Zari woke up, looking around. Everyone was passed out, except for Valeria, with a big bloody mark on her arm. And in the center were the shards of the ruby, each having words carved on them. The magic... he said to himself. He picked them up and read them. His birthstone was opal, not ruby. He wouldn't be able to stop the curse from what they said. As he looked closer though, he realized they were written on the parts that were from the inside. If he assembled the shards back together, the words would be hidden. Which means they were written after the ruby exploded into pieces. Someone else must have known about the curse.....
He picked up the shards, and pulled the sapphire out of his pocket. Inspecting the two gems, he noticed they were surprisingly similar. They both were round and circular, with the same facets cut on them. Maybe... No. It can't be. It... it can't. I won't let it be..., he said to himself. He slipped the gem and shards into his pockets and went to Corinna. Feeling for the sapphire's magic, he tried to summon a blob of water to heal her, or soothe her at least, and something was holding him back. He physically couldn't get the water to bend. A mist appeared where he tried to summon the water; The ruby holds fire magic... I knew it. The ruby was part of him now. He was now a fusion gem.

Zari looked up to Valeria. "Um... Oh...", he mumbled. The mist faded quickly, as Zari got up. "Nothing. It's just, the ruby er, um, stole my powers. Yeah. That's it." He felt awkward.

"Oh, er.." Valeria felt bad. "What powers did you have?"
Zari sighed, "I had the powers of sapphire: control over water, and knowledge. I could do many other things with it though, like heal people with water, and read minds, but my magic was out of control. If I even attempted to use any of it, everything around me would freeze into solid ice. The sapphire has the same powers as me, just weaker, so whenever I use magic I use the sapphire's instead. The ruby's magic, of fire, radiance, love, must have canceled out the sapphire's. Because ever since I touched it, both gems are now a purple-hue. I don't know what to do..." Zari took the sapphire out of his pocket, and showed Valeria it. It faded a dull purple glow.
Zari walked over, and pulled the shards of ruby out of his pocket. They were dull and violet. He handed them to her. "Are you okay?" he asked.

Corinna held them, the shards turned back to the red color. "I am just weak. The ruby strengthens my body. The enchantment isn't as strong as it was. It still helps though." Corinna give half of the shards back to Zari and keeps the other half.
Zari took the shards, watching them fade back to purple. "Well, since they weaken my power, you can have them all." Zari said, as he handed them back to Corinna.
