Zari held his breath and grabbed a shard. It was perfectly fractured, and seemed to have lost its pink hue, now faintly glowing a blood-red. He quickly shoved it in his pocket before anyone noticed him taking it, and walked to the new girl. She seemed friendly; "Sure, no problem." he stated. He had no clue what was going on.

"Glad that's over with." Valeria sighed. "Let's go somewhere else."

"Oh crap." said Corinna.
"Zari. Your holding a secret. I can read your mind. Your mind and emotions are not hidden and protected by the sapphire."
Zari stuttered something incomprehensible, and finally admitted, "You're right... the sapphire has the power of knowledge, aside with the water-bending. But... the ruby isn't that dangerous. I touched it before and was fine, I only went unconscious when I fell and hit my head. I don't see how it's going to hurt me anymore than it already did," and he shrugged his shoulders. "I'm fine," he moaned and went back to the water.

"Guys! I have an idea! put the ruby on the ground, then I'll pick it up with a leaf. Amethyst and Zari will get Valeria, as she is unconsious. People will grab on to my ankles and I'll try to carry you while I fly!"

" If I were to take the sapphire away from you, you wouldn't be protected by it. I can't since your powers will go out of control."
Zari quickly gathered the shards floating on the water, and felt their magic. It was very dark, and spiteful. He plucked a leaf off a maple tree in the garden and wrapped all the shards, but the one he held in his pocket. He handed the small bundle to Corinna, "Here.... where do you plan on going?" he asked.
(Btw that's still good xD It's better than anything I might make)

Corinna hesitintly took them, thinking she would get hurt, but instead felt strong, and not weak. "Well, we are still in the hole due to the ruby. If you give me the ruby with the leaf in it, I can make us fly out of the hole. The ruby has a force, which drags anyone toward it. So, if I hold it up, we can get out of the hole. Also, I'm going to see what these do when I tough them, they aren't full, so they can't be as deadly as the ruby." Corinna then touched one, and it surprisingly didn't hurt her at all.
(It looks better on paper tbh)

Corinna goes over to Valeria, then kneels over her.
" Are you okay Valeria?" Corinna said worried
Zari watched. He felt the ruby's magic tingle inside him, from when he held it earlier. Somehow it didn't hurt him, but instead hid inside him, mingling with the sapphire's magic and fusing with it, dissolving into nothing. Fire and water cancel each other out, and to test the theory, he held his hand in the air and called on the magic to bend a ladder of ice. Nothing happened. "I think I absorbed its darkness and power," he sighed. He had a bad habit of absorbing magic from his surroundings.

"I'm coming!" Valeria yelled again. She wobbled over to her. "What's up?"
