I've had an awesome experience with the site's desktop shortcut for some time. It's practically like having an app on my phone. However, like a day or two ago, every time I click anywhere on my screen with the mobile site open, via the shortcut, I get spammed with forced chrome windows telling me I have viruses. It's obviously a scam, or someone's way of trying to give me the virus I don't actually have yet. I've seen this kinda thing before, but it os ridiculously frequent for me. I'm really sad about it. I love my handy dandy shortcut. I don't think the staff here can do anything about it, but can you guys give me advice on how to fix it or who to ask? Thanks friends ;_;

What kind of phone are you using and does it happen on other websites as well?
I'm using a Motorola. Droid ultra to be specific, and no. Just this site.

I just got done trying to clean the phone. Supposedly it's clean, but the shortcut was still acting up.
Have you tried remaking the shortcut?
Not yet. I guess I should, but I can't remember where I found it before, and I don't believe I created it like you would a normal shortcut. I honestly wanna say I found it in the app store like everything else, but since it technically isn't an app I don't think that'd be possible?
Edit: I'm afraid if I try and remake it, I won't be able to, cuz I'm not tech savvie. Lol

Try using another shortcut for another browser application or clear your cache like Flop said...
But the thing about this shortcut is that it doesn't appear to open in a browser of any sort. It's almost exactly like an app. It's its own entity. I also cleaned already, and that did nothing.

I basically have no recollection of how the shortcut was created, so I don't know how to replace it... I don't have shortcuts for anything else, just apps.

Ah yeah, that was real simple. It does give me the shortcut, but there are still slight differences in the display I guess that I just won't get back. I shouldn't cry over spilt milk, but this is way better than the constant ad spam. I also tried different site formats offered in the footer on the site, whatever format my original shortcut was displaying doesn't appear to be available through normal means. I'm just gonna have to get used to viewing the site differently lol.

It doesn't display any normal browser options, or headers, or toolbars. This is why I used to call it an app before someone corrected me.

I remember a number of users talking about there being an app previously and if you search for it on Google one exists, but it's not something we endorse for very good reasons (account security, potential phone viruses/malware, etc). Looking at screenshots that were provided it seems like that was it and I highly recommend uninstalling that immediately.
Alright then. I had no idea, and it never caused issues before, but I'll take your word for it.
