Stupid things you used to believe as a child?

I believed in the YOU ARE THE MILLIONTH VISITOR scams >n<

Also I was just… irrationally scared of watching M rated or higher movies/shows. Not necessarily just for getting in trouble (which would have sucked) but I legit felt some vague bad thing would happen to me, like let’s say if it was a horror movie the characters would chase me irl because I wasn’t a grown-up.

I think I also believed people would swim between countries for sone reason and I thought Italy (possibly other parts of Europe) were directly next to or attached to America

i thought AFAB people could train themselves to pee and aim standing up (edit: just gonna say I wrote ”girls” originally but it’s just because I had no idea of being transgender as a kid and I went back to that mindset slightly so no disrespect!)

i thought you could get discs from game consoles to work on other consoles if you had the proper hacks lol. I also tried really hard to put gameboy games (not gba, gameboy) in my ds. I was so convinced the link cable could work between gen 2 and gen 3 if only you could make it fit in the slot. I believed all the fake pokemon rumors to some extent, some sm64ds and mkwii and galaxy rumors, and a few club penguin rumors

and idk if you want to count this, but I thought i was gen x. I just thought gen x sounded cool and i didn’t think i was part of the newest generation since i was born before 2000. (I‘m one of the oldest gen z)

minor animal crossing rumor i gaslit myself into believing is that the throne item appeared once a year

I used to believe that all females were born from females and all males were born from males. I was surprised to learn that only people with a uterus can give birth 🥴

I used to believed us women could just get pregnant randomly and suddenly without a male.

Let me tell you about the hours I used to lie awake thinking about this when I was a child. 😶
same

also i used to think that when you got married after like 1 year the woman magically became pregnant

I wasn’t a child but I used to believe that “Grande” drinks at Starbucks were large. When someone says that you automatically think “big” so it makes sense, or at least I thought it did.

I used to think when people say "you look cute" I somehow interrupted as "oh I still look awful" Yeah my child self was very insecure and always expecting negative stuff because my childhood was so terrible.

That would be a scary thought! I think that would have kept me up at nights. 😥

Wait, it's not? I've never been to a Starbucks but I felt sure it must mean large based on the translation.

One time I really wanted a blingee avatar and my friend back then said it would take them years to make it and I believed it 😂

I "adopted" a tomato and cucumber from the grocery store and named them "Bob and Larry" like the VeggieTales.

I thought "euthanasia" was "youth in asia" and whenever my history class would talk about euthanasia in Africa (? I think it was Africa where it use to be legal or something? regardless,) I was always extremely confused.

basically when i was little i used to drink ice water all the time and my parents told me i would die if i drank it too fast lol
