I'm lookin' for some new anime to watch while I'm in forced-out-of-job quarantine!

I have an All-Might mural on my wall so don't @ me with My Hero Academia because BOY, I ALREADY LOVE IT.
(We can talk about it though, you know, if you wanna... *sniff*)

I'm down for anything, and I'll let you know if I've seen, read, or tried it!
I'm sure others are looking for suggestions too so, feel free to put anything and everything out there!

That seems pretty intense, might have to put it off for a more mellow-minded time.

Haven't seen Steins;Gate but have heard of it, Haikyu wasn't really my thing when I tried it my first time around but, maybe I'd get into it if I gave it more of a chance! Angel Beats and Banana Fish both are masterpieces, definitely worth watching (and in Banana Fish's case, reading) though Banana Fish was another pretty heavy one, and I haven't tried The Disastrous Life of Saiki K- but it looks like one I might vibe with so maybe I'll do that this week-end ovo

Black Clover

I promise, despite its rough start, it's actually really good. It's nothing revolutionary, but it's just a fun show to watch. If you've bounced off of it before, I would still highly recommend giving it another chance (maybe watch the dub for the first fifteen-ish episodes; the main character's Japanese VA dramatically improved around that point).

This was actually one I wanted to try watching soon, I put it off in favor of Dr. Stone which... was a mistake. I just wasn't feeling Dr. Stone... I'll definitely give Black Clover the old college try soon!

World Trigger
Hunter x Hunter
Guren Lagann
FLCL
Demon Hunter
Attack on Titan
Iron Blooded Orphans
Food Wars
Promised Neverland

Gurren Lagann
Made in Abyss is amazing but it can get a little dark.
Fate has a bad reputation but I think if you like well written shows then Fate/Zero is good.
Beastars!
Hunter x Hunter will also change your outlook on anime it is so good.

If your into anime's take on the hero stuff, there is Tiger and Bunny.

Definitely am, I'll add this one to my list!

World Trigger
Hunter x Hunter
Guren Lagann

Demon Hunter
Attack on Titan
Iron Blooded Orphans
Food Wars
Promised Neverland

World Trigger, interesting art style, I'll give it a look over! Hunter x Hunter wasn't really my thing when I tried it the first time, but, if I get through the ones that interest me immediately I might go back to it, Guren Lagann MAYBE, I'm not big on Mechs, Demon Slayer (I assume :'D) is amazing and if anyone here hasn't heard of it, go watch it its fantastic, Attack on Titan is a no go for me, just wasn't really into it and I heard the seasons get great and then deteriorate pretty quickly, Iron Blooded Orphans might be a pass for now, Food Wars wasn't my ish when I watched it the first time around (I'm asexual and feel nothing towards animes personified in the way it was x'D) aaaand Promised Neverland I've heard of but haven't gotten to and I'll give it a look and probably add it to my list too ovo

Made in Abyss has another really interesting art style, I'm okay with a little dark, sometimes I prefer it... Fate/Zero I never really got into too much, a friend really likes it though so I might try it out soon, Beastars I've watched and I agree, its pretty great, aaand Hunter x Hunter has been rec'd twice so now, I'll definitely give it another chance, it'll go on the list x'D

My Hero Academia already shifted my perspective on anime so any series that can be claimed to do the same is worth me turning towards for sure :D

The thing about Food Wars is that it stands on its own as an excellent shonen anime even without the fan service. It's gratuitous for sure, but it's good despite all that.
If you're thinking about World Trigger, I can't recommend it enough. It's just this amazing work of tactical genius. The main character isn't a chosen one, he's not OP, he doesn't have anime hair, and nothing about him stands out. Even so, he befriends this OP little madman who decides to use his vast, almost godly power to help our hero achieve his dream of being a... dimension... cop. Idk how else to describe his goal, it's weird. Also aliens want to eat his friend girl, who turns out to be this untapped motherlode of mana, so she decides to use her power to help our hero become an even better space cop. It's just great, you gotta watch it to understand.

Fate/Zero is a little hard to get into, yeah. ^^ I’d say that’s the issue with Fate in general because it’s so confusing and there’s so much content that fits in nowhere. But it does get better! I began to enjoy it more around three episodes in. And yes! Made In Abyss is good! The third movie and new arc is out and I’m very excited. There’s a few scenes that are like... eeeehhh... but the world building is great!

And yes! I’m also a big bnha fool so I can say firmly that HxH affected me similarly. Made by the same mangaka is Yu Yu Hakusho, which i also enjoyed.

Fruits Basket is sweet and has big nostalgia factor for me....

I can recommend more if you’d like! Also movies, I suppose. ^w^ What genres do you enjoy?

: To give some idea of what I've been into lately/keeping up with more than others... ..
Some of my Recents
Toilet-Bound Hanako Kun:
Fun anime, with darker undertones, and a really amazingly different art style which is something I've been vibing with lately from a lot of animes I've been putting time into

Given:
Beautiful anime that defies the negative stereotypes around yaoi and portrays complex relationships beautifully and properly with sad story lines mixed in that are real rather than played for character on character coddling. I highly, highly, recommend this one.

Fruits Basket Remake:
They're doing the manga right, that's genuinely all I can say, I am so proud of them.

Charlotte:
Older anime, made by the company Key, not as well known as their other works such as Clannad or Canon, but the biggest mind-blowing trip I've ever been through with any anime, oh my god, I can't even express how stunned it left me with it's many twists, if you want that kind of shock factor then this one's for you.

Cells at Work:
Just a lot of fun, recommended by doctors.

Death Parade:
Finally got around to watching it and loved it, definitely recommend.

Brand New Animal:
Did you like Beastars? Great, watch this one too then. Did you hate Beastars? Great, watch this one anyway.

Fire Force:
Still on the rocks with this one, reminds me of My Hero Academia but with more fanservice, an interesting premise but, mm, a little off?

My Hero Academia:
Watch it. All I can say. Brought me back into my love of this art form, its just great.

Demon Slayer:
If you watched Inuyasha and adored it, then I would say that Demon Slayer is a safe bet for you. Its fantastic, and I've been taking my time on it just so that its not over too quickly.

Artwork and storytelling are big for me, I LOVE when a story is done well, action I am never opposed to though, like I said in one of my replies, I'm just not into the big robots... sometimes, for some reason, they get me, but usually if mechs are involved I'm tuned out, probably reminds me of my childhood where I didn't understand any of this and my father constantly put on mech anime to which I, being a dumb kid, ended up thoroughly bored... at least that's my theory to why I'm not big on them now anyway.

Movies- I've watched all of the akin to studio ghibli-esque ones... my favorite thus far was A Silent Voice, given its portrayal of anxiety was spot on, Weathering With You is also high on my list... .. bottom of the barrel'd be one called Fireworks, I just, did not get it, and I still don't, and I'm afraid to try again by wasting my time watching it again lol... ..

My all time favourite: Katanagatari. They do a lot of talking, though, so you might not like it if you're more into action and things actually happening.

Acchi Kocchi - Slice of life, romance.
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - Comedy with a little romance.
Gin no Saji - Slice of life.
Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens - Action.
Sakamoto desu ga? - Comedy.
Servant x Service - Slice of life, romcom.

I’d say Gurren Lagan is the one anime’s that sorta has mecha that I enjoy! They’re different than normal mech in that... it isn’t really about the mech or any technology? I don’t know! I just know it brought me to tears.

Dorohedoro is also a great anime and it’s based off of my favorite manga!

It's about being manly! And piercing the heavens with your drill! God what a masterclass of the genre. It's good all the way through, wish I could unsee it to watch it for the first time again.

As someone who watched all of Lucky Star more than once, let me tell you, talking is a-okay with me, totally fine, I'm down to clown.

Slice of life are never ones I'm too particular with, 'Sakamoto desu ga?' - SO good, had my friends and I so in love we bought sake one night called 'Sake'moto-- something... .. Servant x Service and Gin no Saji I'm a LITTLE on the fence with, but I will add them to the list regardless... a lot of the ones you've recommended come from studios that did some animes I enjoyed as a youngin' so, I'll definitely be checking them out, and thank you for recommending so many slice of life's, I'm happy for the variety everyone's showing here so far!

I SWEAR. I recently watched it for the first time a month ago and I just cried through the whole second half of this work of art. I want to scrub my brain and experience it all over again. For such a short anime, the cast is unforgettable and amazing and I just... ah! Big feelings about this show!

I've heard of it, and honestly would be up for giving it a shot at some point, just kept putting it off because of that one small thing haha

Dorohedoro is so familiar its insane, its like one of those things that's in the back of my mind that I can't quite reach... I'll add it to my list just so I can try to bring the memory to light

Yeah, I getcha. I'm very particular with slice of life because my attention span is... finicky lol. Kinda just tried to recommend some from different genres that I liked. To be honest, I would probably rate Gin no Saji above Servant x Service, just because it's a more unusual setting, I guess.

And YES, I loved loved loved Sakamoto desu ga? Such a shame there will only ever be one season.

I actually have been thinking of starting Toilet-Bound Hanako Kun... Might do now that you gave it such a good review lol.
