Umm, who's running the current queue as of now? I'm happy to run a game.
I wish to host after Toad if that's alright for everyone. I need a break for playing but I don't want to leave the community so I feel like this is my best option. I feel like I have a good setup but could use feedback regarding it.

I believe radical asked after me. However, they also asked to go after Toad. I wouldn't mind if they go next cuz I would like to think this out.

Hey TBT mafia its been a while. I've been kind of itching to get back into maf games recently. It's been a long time since I've actually played. (I was in the first main 3 maf games that Karla hosted, sadly didn't get any interesting roles.) but I have an idea for an experiential game based around ATLA. I've never hosted either, so I'd probably want a co-host with me. Is the queue open now?

It's been a long time so I'm not sure what the rules are for hosting. The General post says that to host a main game you need to have played in and had a role in a certain amount of games in order to host. But if its an experimental game do those rules still apply? Also for the queue list is that normally only in order for when the Cellar is active? Like there's only one game that can go on at a time?

It's suggested you have experience playing the game to host, particularly with experimental. I think finding an experienced co-host would be the best idea. I don't think I'll play for a while so I can take a glance at the setup for balance if you need me to.

And yes one game at a time.

@MyLifeIsCake we don’t have a queue anymore since activity was lagging, but currently radical6 is planning to host soon (we just finished a game). i would suggest playing that game and then talk to other players who were interested in hosting after her to figure it out

though tbh if you haven’t played in a while i would play some games either here or elsewhere to refreshen your experience before hosting. better to just remember how the games go from a player perspective

I will post signups within the next couple days. After seeing how people were tired of the last game im going to let people rest for a bit before opening signups

Hey all! This thread has been updated to better suit the role of a new General thread. Let me know if you have any suggestions to what I wrote and post if you have a credible history as a host to become approved for the future.

Being an approved or disapproved host should be decided by more than one person imo. And that would just create drama whether it's one or many people.

I think instead it would be better if we had a body of experienced hosts who can approve of specific games being official or not based on setup balance, who aren't playing should it not be a fully open setup. But the same issue might arise from selecting that body.🤔

Don't think how things are going now are that problematic fwiw, when it comes to officializing some process.

I do think all this conditional stuff about WotC is just... trying to address the void of being able to use bans/tempbans. It's weird, being unable to do things like we used to but we're stuck with what we got.

Big hmmmmmm

Does it need to be officialized in its current state?

I dunno if I’m seeing how it could stir up drama to be honest, the idea of it is just that if you host a quality game you don’t need someone to hold your hand for the future. It’s mostly something to ensure balance when we don’t have a queue anymore. I do agree it should probably be decided by lore than one person, but I’m also cool with not even using approved hosts at all if it’s a little too much work.

Also nothing here is official yet, this is mainly something to bounce off y’all.

official and experimental should just be one thing

host council thing is dumb, just have an experienced host review the setup pregame

WOTC has literally never been used, if someone doesn't want to play with another person they can out

hosts should just maintain a list of people they don't want in their games for breaking the rules

WotC has been done before (not in a very long time though), but I’ve only WotCed players that I feared may do things that would ruin/get the game shut down. but i think those who WotC should talk to the host as to what happened and hope they listen to prevent that player from participating (but again, this only works occasionally)

having a group of players needing to approve a setup may prevent them from being able to play. And with our small enough group, that’s probably not the best thing to do. I trust that experienced hosts know what they’re doing and if they really are in doubt they can ask another host who doesn’t plan to play. But a person hosting for the first time def needs to get some advice/an experienced cohost
