I also think that regardless of amount of games you have hosted if they're only on TBT you should check balance through an experienced player and/or host who is not going to play. You should in general regardless. Unless it's a standardized setup.

Pretty much what Punchy said though just make it good practice.

If you are running an experimental setup you should probably have it as an open setup unless there's a very good mechanical reason for it not to be and there usually isn't. And always check your balance through someone if you are doing something experimental no matter your experience level.

I would again prefer tempbans/bans somehow though but mods dropped all support so that would only work with a 'council' of people with good reputation. I think gamethrowing to where it ends the game early should be a very long tempban (like five games) and if it happens twice that should be a permanent and we don't even need to have a council for that.

I think there should be a separate micro section for players who are always up for smaller games. Like I personally like micro games as I can participate , be done in a couple of days, and do another one, and I don't have to consider anyone's schedule. Everyone can just sign up for what is already out there. Timing the micro and main games ..its very slow...just my opinion ! don't yeet me!

and microgames are good for newbies to participate in..less pressure and more exercise for them going into the main game.

oh nevermind I see Just for Fun games..but can we have a tag or something...like something you can select to classify what game it is...

I've explained this to Ness via DM before, but we (the staff) no longer want to see a ban list in mafia. We do now allow people to be blacklisted anywhere else on the forum, so it is unfair for us to allow it in mafia.

@Vrisnem What's your take on the Wisdom of the Crowds system I've emphasized? Do you feel this is a good compromise, or would you have any other recommendations?

Also I now agree that the qualified hosts thing is more than likely just going to stir up issues down the road. I think it's probably safe to assume people will know how to host a balanced game, and if they're new maybe they should just seek out a co-host.

wait, so hosts have to let everyone in their games like even if they had a history of gamethrowing or something

i can host an open setup if people really wanted. if people are interested lmk. but i'll let radical6 post stuff first

I've far too much free time over the next two months. If anyone is up for participating in a heavily-themed game (e.g. Call the Ships to Port) let me know because I've an idea in mind.
YES

no time bomb/veteran this time thank youuuu <3

imo all hosts should have at least one other hand helping them with the balance of the game

approved hosts shouldn't be dismissed from that

I agree with Punchy. I'm open to reviewing the next game being hosted for balance as I probably won't be able to play it
