Mafia TBT Mafia III: The Murder Before Christmas [Game Over/Town Win]

Isn't it a bit tough to enforce the minimum post rule? What if being quiet is part of one's strategy? Also, do you think this will encourage posting or cause more modkills?

Being quiet never helps anyone either way. =P People often target the lurkers Day One. So it would benefit everyone (especially Town who need information) to get people posting. If quiet is your strategy you will most likely be pegged as Mafia.

I think it's worth giving a shot. If people really aren't adapting well to it and we see that it'll cause too many modkills, we'll probably become more lenient on it. I imagine anyway .. maybe Tom might be the better one to answer this.

Will the effect of the bus driver last one night, or until a bus driver happens to switch them again?

It lasts just one night. They then return to their previous / original state.

I'm not so sure with the arbitrary post count system either. I know players that only post like 3 times a cycle but they are huge posts with tons of analysis.

We're just asking for four posts from a person really. Vote counts as one and then you can post how many during the day or night. So you've got your vote post, then you could post four times during the day phase and take the night cycle off. Or post once during day phase, then three times during night. Up to you guys on how you want to do that. Might come off as mean to some, but last game we kept going for inactives to lynch and we'd all rather not repeat that. If it really becomes an issue then we'll consider it, but until then this will stick.

Instead of Modkilling, why not just remove that player's abilities for the rest of the game, demoting them down to a regular townie or a plain mafia goon that can't send in KP?

Not to be a mini mod of this game BUT
Please make sure you will actually post + vote regularly. There were loads of modkills last game and we don't really need that this game. ok ty. <3

I couldn't believe how many people were modkilled. All of the people here as that you are active.

Ehhh yeah I agree with the others about the post requirement rule. If anything, it's probably just going to lead to a bunch of modkills. And it's going to encourage players to post meaningless filler posts that garbage up the thread because they can't post anything else.

Also, what Karla brought up:

I know players that only post like 3 times a cycle but they are huge posts with tons of analysis.

Hi.

Well, because of my inactivity last time, I'll have to sit this one out. Doesn't mean I won't watch, though! Good luck, everyone!

I agree. 5 posts in two days isn't bad, but some of us want to stay quiet regardless of our role and having 10 posts every 3 days if you want to lurk isn't great. There will be tons of modkills.

Day will be longer than 24 hours. Night will be 24 hours. That's 2+ IRL days to contribute something. I won't modkill right off the bat since you guys keep pushing it, but we really just ask you all participate. You can still be quiet and meet the minimum post requirement.

That too. Posts that contribute nothing will be seen way too much.

You mean like this one?

Seriously. You don't need to post about your agreement/disagreement to everything. THAT is what would clog up the thread in the game. Just let it happen on it's own, you don't always need to show if you agree/disagree with something. :L

I realise it's not even the game + it doesn't really mean much now, but just a note for the future. :)

Oh, ok. By the way, I signed up.

I know. I'm planning to lurk more than post when the game starts. If I see something odd, then I'll put in my two cents.

At first I thought you wanted five posts per day and night cycle. So five posts for 2+ days work for me. Hopefully people will realize before hand if they can handle that since knowing before the game starts should prepare you/encourage you to meet the criteria. Honestly I'm more concerned with spam content more than lurkers/non contributors. Hopefully people will post necessary lengthy information, and if they want to agree they elaborate on their opinions. It's probably a lot to ask for and I'm sure people will find a sorry excuse for not being able to post often or post enough contributing information.
So please keep your posts quality, eventhough quality posts was what killed me the second game. Help me blend in ;p

Being quiet doesn't contribute though. :p

I think the post count is a bit much - but at the same time I think I can make time for it. Somedays I can be out of the house from 8am until the last train home. Other days I will stay home all day but still have to spend hours on the phone / writing emails / doing paperwork / etc. Folks in IRC can no doubt use my complaining to back me up on my stupidly hectic lifestyle. If I can manage it you all can. ;)
