Hello all, i'm watching Death note and i'm super hyped up on espresso right now so let me begin by saying that i'm not going to be very active in these games until the end of august when I get my school computer back. I also have a job of playing guitar now so i need to get some of that PAPER.

To start off, i'm going to talk about Endless' post.

At this point i've answered these same questions everytime I just don't even care anymore.

By the way, I don't have any big problems with RVS, its just that when do we get to scum hunting?

Traditionally, in kingmaker games or in games where there's a gunned player, the players are encouraged to make an informal in thread vote, with some helpful soul tallying the votes every 12 hours or so. I suggest we do this by placing a purple vote, like this:

hayden ****posts as town, and rn he's saying to not expect much from him and using school as an excuse which he's done multiple times as scum, including xeno. him saying he'll condense his posts is what is the biggest red flag, because he doesn't do that ever as town

Thats a fairly bold accusation, taking into account that we're incredibly early into the game already. If thats the case i'll look into some meta of his and i'll make my own judgement later.

You know mafia can always Strong Arm him making it pointless to protect him if mafia does have a strongman.

I'm going to have to along with Minties here that this is a weird thing to suggest, and i'm also using the fact that we're on Day 1. Why just make a quick assumption that there is a mafia strong arm because the last few games have had one? Maybe because he softed that there is one.

My first suspicion goes to Kirbystarship. Vote: Kirbystarship. I'll look into his later posts, but he is my main finger of suspicion for now.

I spent some time thinking it over and I doubt Sataric's play is anything other than protown. (There isn't any real reward for scamming people out of their initial funds to lose a team member, even if they had a team set up that wouldn't lose a kp from 1 mafia death.)

If you'd read the post you would've understood this one entirely. It was a directive to prevent the possibility of a large-scale currency loss. It's no longer relevant.

With regard to why I chose those RQS questions and not something more compact: More compact RQS's tend to intimidate, this works much better as an ice breaker.

I have sent a PM to Dolby with additional questions just so I can get a better understanding of things. I kind of want to wait for his response before I decide on the best course of actions regarding this matter. I believe he's asleep at the moment.

Turns out I'm a potato and sort of misread part of the coupon thing. Got my response from Dolby. Don't send me any won - It is not worth it, and it's better to keep the king protected and keep your coins to yourself at this stage of the game. I apologize for the inconvenience.

@ Entropy - Keeping in mind that it's still Day 1 and the game just started, I have to say that I agree that Minties seems a little scummy so far, primarily based on how she answered the questions. Whilst it is true that she has repeatedly said prior to the game starting that she was not overly excited to join another TBT Mafia game already, the following statements seems very out-of-character for her:

Whilst I can understand that she's not quite as enthusiastic as she normally would be to participate in this game, fact remains that she is incredibly competitive when it comes to Mafia and always really want to win. I would dare say that it goes against her nature to some extent to participate in a game yet not put considerable effort into it, and I think that ultimately she would beat herself up a fair bit if she didn't do her best. That said, I guess we'll have to wait and see how she acts after the game really kicks off - But keep a close eye on her.

What alignment did you want to be this game?Why?: Town, certainly. I find playing as mafia exhausting, and I much prefer having less initial information so I have more to work out. It's also more satisfying to win, because you win with more people.
How do you react under pressure?: I either explain myself as clearly as possible or spin logical circles around and make fun of the person applying the pressure, depending on the legitimacy of the pressure.
How active do you plan on being this game?: Reasonably.
How well do you think you scumhunt(Look to find mafia)?Why?: going to leave this one blank because I probably can't form an opinion of my own ability here without being horribly biased towards myself.
What should we expect from your play-style this game?: What you can expect from me every game. To grind content and be a playmaker.

And, as a side note, I want to humourously point out how Daniel asked me why I wanted doc to be on Sataric (emphasis on the past tense, since the plan is no longer going through) and answers that very question in the next paragraph.

Also already directing the doctor to protect Sataric? It's not even 12 hours in D1 and you already believe he's town enough to ask someone to protect him.

But what you said does make me want to ask Sataric something:

In my post, I wrote the sentence "I can't see Sataric's play as anything but protown". This sentence was widely misunderstood to mean "I can't see Sataric's posts as anything but town", which is way off target. I was referring to the play he made initially, which was asking for the funds to be sent to him. (As, even if he was mafia, he couldn't hold onto any funds without being incredibly suspicious.)
Hence, the actual meaning of the post I made was "I can't see this move Sataric is making as anything but beneficial to the town, so it's probably a good idea". This is of course, ignoring the possibility of a thief role.

(Assuming you're town), you don't know Sataric's role. He could be town playing for the interest of town or he could be trying to scam people. The fact that you quickly believe him and ask publicly for a doc to protect him very early in the game is what I was wondering.

For Sataric, I asked him what his thought process was for saying what he said. He is aware of what he is and I'm wondering why he said that, because as town he put a target. I questioned why he said that when he would be making himself a target.

If you were scum(And unaware of the possibility of a thief role as you said), you would have known that Sat was town telling the truth, therefore quickly believing the claim and saying for someone to protect him to appear town. So I was more so asking the thought process of you 2.

I simply thought that since I was under a time-restraint and the Black Market may have items available that greatly benefit town that normally you wouldn't be able to acquire very early on without working together, we would be off to a great start if we could somehow obtain two copies of a powerful item. Of course it'd potentially put a target on my back but if the items would be of great use then it'd still be a worthwhile sacrifice in my opinion - There's plenty of strong players in the game and if I could use the items and then die afterwards, I'd be really pleased with that. Furthermore, I oftentimes find that when it comes to making people accept your claim, it's best to do it early. In any case, I messed up the whole thing due to reading/understanding it incorrectly so it doesn't matter now - It wouldn't work as I thought it would. Therefore: Keep your won to yourself.

At this point I do want to say that I find Minties suspicious because of everything she's posted so far. She says that she will not be too interested/active in this game, but immediately shows interest in Tardis for what is in my opinion not suspicious at all.

I also think that Entropy made a good point about Hayden's post, although I don't know their playstyle well and wouldn't go as far to call it scummy, I think it's probably an indicator, and I trust Entropy's judgement.

My post covered how a scam set up in that manner would be inefficient and not work properly, hence I concluded it wasn't a scam. That was the entire point of that post and you somehow missed it.

Actually, this isn't a bad thing at all. I've often annotated a case I was making on someone I thought was mafia, only to conclude in the case they're town. (Or that what I was going off wasn't accurate, so I would retreat my position.)
The important thing is getting your brain out on the page, as that lets other people understand your thought process, which lets them read you, which is protown.

It's 5 AM and I'm about to go to sleep but I want some discussion to stir up about Ness, because he's pushed on Kirbystarship for something that, while normally it might be a red flag, was explained almost immediately in a satisfactory manner. (A new player who has played around half their games with an unusual role cannot be blamed for thinking that it's a common role.)

The whole push rubs me the wrong way. It doesn't feel like he's searching for mafia, it looks like he's looking for an excuse to lynch someone.
