Mafia TBT Mafia V: There and Back Again [Game Over/Town Win]

It's not set in stone. Scum need to do more than just lurk in the shadows. Of course some are going to be active and try to push us towards an innocent. In Mafia III I was a mafia role blocker and still behaved as an active pro-town member.

Your biggest flaw so far has been voting in the same style as a suspect (in this case iLoveYou), immediately after them, and then waiting a while before posting any reasoning for your vote. It's as if, as a new player, you thought it would be okay to simply follow a stronger player's judgement. It's not a clever move for mafia, but you've said yourself you're a new player: a new player is more likely to make the mistake of following a stronger member of their team too closely.

Actually, I saw iLoveYou's post after I posted my defense... so I wasn't following her.

Oh jeez look at me, told myself I'd ignore Day 1 mostly and here I am.
???

Prin is a terrible lynch. A new player who vote switched once (in the early stages of voting) is not a reason for a lynch.

In fact, I'd rather lynch Dolby for being a toxic anti-town force with the bs he keeps pulling ever game. Posts like:
I may be trolling or I might not be. Feel free to think that I'm a scared townie, mafia, or the actual bus driver. The bus driver knows my role and his role. But I will confirm this, if I am not the bus driver then I'm in contact with him/her (I know that this post looks weird and makes almost no sense)
are unacceptable. You do not win this game as town by deceiving town. All you're going to do give town headaches as they try to unspin your lies (see Game 3, where all you had to do was tell me you were the Mad Hatter and it would have been so much easier). Meanwhile, Mafia just sit back and watch you screw over your own town. This stuff about being in contact with the bus driver, why would you even make that information public? Mafia could just hit you and destroy one of Town's links. That's if you really are in contact with a bus driver and not scum posing.

Why did you offer me a bus swap? Was it the bus driver who suggested that, or yourself? I don't trust either of you any way. In fact, I suspect it's just a ploy to leave me protectioness, while you kill me during the night because I was expecting to be bussed.

tldr: Dolby's play is inherently anti-town. He causes confusion for town, causes town to waste their time trying to figure him out, which then causes town to generally ignore him. That's bad. And when he rolls Mafia, this is even worse. Dolby's playstyle is never compatible with town. This should be a no-nonsense lynch.

Right I have read I few pages but I've got to go to work, I will read through when I get home.

I agree with what Karla said above. That was the primary reason I lynched Foxwolf64 in Mafia III. Just a terrible town player. Dolby always plays on his own, trying to confuse people and get them off his back, which isn't the goal in mafia. He should be contributing by adding in what he thinks when it comes up. I agree that a vote for Dolby will fasten the progress of the town, whether he is scum or not. The only setback to that is that he could be the blue role. (although, being Dolby, he probably got Smeagle)

The next person I would be okay with lynching is iLoveYou. I've played a lot in forum mafia and IRC mafia. I really do know how she acts when she's mafia and when she's not. Although we may not want to lynch her during Day One, we need to keep an eye on her. Regardless of her alignment, she's always very deceptive. Remember to NOT trust her, please.

Detective please do everyone here a favor and inspect ILoveYou. We need to sort out her role so we can see whether to take this strong player seriously or not. Don't wait around do it tonight.

I think people need to make a note to stop telling all the roles what to do. They are smart; they know how to use their role and can make a decision by themself. With the framer back in the game, each time you publicly announce who Detectives should rolecheck, you're telling the framer as well. Please stop.

If scum are scared of standing out, wanting to go unnoticed, why am I doing this instead of just lurking? Aren't mafia supposed to stay away and try to avoid posting? Aren't I doing the exact opposite? If I was mafia, I would probably be the same. Being a new player may make me suspicious, because you aren't exactly 100% certain how I play. But I think you need a little more evidence before you start lynching me. You'll probably be lynching Town.

This just sounds to me like you are purposely trying to do the opposite of what you think scum does in order to avoid suspicion. However, you are doing the very minimal of that. And then just the way you say that we're probably be lynching town and that you may be town or may not be, what are you even saying?

I believe that Dolby is town, though given that he is anti-town as well, I wouldn't mind switching my vote to him so we can get a majority.

By all means, keep an eye on me. Personally, I don't think it's the smartest idea to have me inspected on Night One. Assuming we have 2 Detectives, they probably didn't find eachother yet to be able to co-ordinate amongst themselves. If this is the case then both could inspect me and have Night One inspections wasted on one person. Not only that but you all keep yelling to the high heavens that you find me suspicious. If the Mafia were given a framer, guess who they will want to frame? On top of this we have FanousOnTheLoose insisting I get inspected Night One. This is giving the Mafia too much of an opportunity to have me framed, especially since you all find me suspicious. I see his point about how it can ease up suspicions on me but there could be a Godfather and Framers potentially in the game that Detectives need to work around. So either way I don't think there will be much merit to those inspection results.

If you guys really want to inspect me, then I ask that you do so in a strategic manner for all of the reasons mentioned above. You guys can not focus on one person and use up all night actions on them.

I understand that I lie a lot. I do lie as a Town player very often ( see Game 4 and Mini Mafia 2 ). I don't think I merit a lynching just because I am deceptive. Everyone should be lying even as Town. I do it to the extreme because I enjoy baiting to fish for Mafia. Has it been successful in the past? Yes, to some extent. Has it caused issues? Yes. It may not be the best way to go about things, I get it. But ask yourselves: do you expect me to be 100% honest all of the time?

By the way, work all day. Expect slow responses if any.

I was typing my response on my cellphone. Had I known Superpenguin postwd before me, I probably wouldn't have repeated several things. Sorry if my post is repetitive.

I've got a lot of reading to do, I've been tied up with caring for a lion cub (not kidding) and school work.
Right now, I'm gonna vote for a nolynch, just as a placeholder incase I don't get back in time to actually vote after reading, because, I do have a lion cub under my care for the day/weekend.

I said yesterday that I would support a lynch for Dolby and I'm sticking by that. Even if he's town he's more likely to be a hinderance than an asset.

I'll vote for Dolby as well. He shouldn't be trying to be confusing Town if he really is a true town player. If he's town, he's just being annoying.

I am switching my vote to Dolby. I don't want to sound repetitive, so I'm just going to leave it at that. cx

After reading though the last few pages, I think I'm prepared to vote for Dolby as well. Overall, it's less wasteful than a no lynch vote and less risky than hitting someone that might be a blue role that would use it to the towns advantage. Sorry, Dolby, you just never seem to have anyone's best interest at heart but your own.

Threw in my vote for Dolby. I agree with most of the reasons already presented, and Karla can confirm that I actually brought it up with him yesterday on Mumble before any of the votes came in, so I'm not just jumping on the bandwagon.

I'll be laughing at all of you when you see what my role is. Though I can't kill anybody, some of the town might think that it's a better lynch then a townie

Was this supposed to be a defense?
It looks like surrender to me. :p

A better lynch by killing a distraction, right?
You have yet to even properly reply to many of the points made.

That's it? No defense? Just you'll be laughing in Obs chat?

I surrender, because I am the brown wizard and my brain has been addled by mushrooms

Why should we trust you?
You said you were, then you said you were not, and now you are changing your mind?
You are one vote away from being lynched. You had time to defend yourself long ago.

And he's still got bloody time! If he's innocent like he claims, then give us reason to trust ya!
