Mafia TBT Mafia V: There and Back Again [Game Over/Town Win]

Yes Kayla, it was really a test to see if you would blabber to everybody else, which you did.

I came out to you as my role as Townie first, then wanted to see if you would blabber about the SK role.
If I was SK it would serve no purpose to me to claim to anybody since the SK is working by their-selves

I really just sign up for mafia games because I want to be mafia, and ever since the first game, I've yet to be mafia at all, which is one of the only ways I know how to play this game.

Could the highlighted be a bluff? She could be saying these to avoid any suspicion.

I don't think anyone is stupid enough to claim serial killer if they really are the serial killer. I'm inclined to believe that River genuinely had an objective if she was going to make such a claim to iLoveYou. Claiming a dangerous role follows the same pattern as the "suicide missions" that iLoveYou is so fond of.

Even admitting that, it's true that River has been inactive the past couple of games she's played.

Before we hit day, I want to bring attention to another player: You. He was one of the last players to vote for Dolby and since the game started he has only made three posts:

I'm a horse.

Is it just me, or is Superpenguin acting pretty suspicious. His avatar is a chicken, yet his username implies that he likes penguins? I'll let you decide what's really going on here.

I put my vote in after because I wasn't sure if it had ended yet, I assumed it did but I voted anyway... :p

The last post was immediately after Dolby?s lynch. He has viewed the thread since then. I can recall that he was online 7-8 hours ago, even viewing this thread, but still said nothing. So his limited number of posts is clearly not due to a lack of time. The other two posts are just jokes and fail to actually contribute to the thread. But, has anyone else noticed that this is a similar approach to how Horus (mafia goon) played in Mafia III? He slid by the entire game because (a) he was hiding in the shadows and (b) the few posts he did make were insincere.

It may be obvious, but I also want to point out that being mafia in your first game gives you a fantastic advantage if you're smart enough to use it right. You can play dumb because no one knows your play style yet: not only did I do this in Mafia III, but Fanous also did this in Mini Mafia II.

With so little to go on I'm aware I could be completely off base here, but I want to keep You on the radar. It's been proven in the past that sometimes direct contact is the only way to get people to speak up, so my main motivation with this post is to get him talking. Please actually contribute to the game from now on, You.

I'm not sure what I think of the whole supposed fake claim situation yet, but I do want to address this idea of the Serial Killer choosing to work with town. To be blunt, it's ****ing stupid.

But River claims that she fake claimed as a test for Kayla to see if she would out herself. This doesn't make any sense though. Why wouldn't Kayla out the Serial Killer? As previously discussed, they cannot win together. If anything, the fact that Kayla did 'out' the Serial Killer could be seen as a good sign.

Justin is right. There is no reason that an actual Serial Killer would reveal themselves, unless River is insanely clever.

Also, it's pretty obvious that Kayla would out the Serial Killer, since their existence would threaten either side.

What I was trying to post is that she supposedly roleclaimed to Tom on Skype. He was the one to back up her claim of Serial Killer which is why he is getting upset that I "threw her under the bus too damn early". So unless this is a trick from both Tom and River. Then I don't know what to make of it.

@lauren, look at how I've played the game since I was mafia in the first game.

I only play to see if I could get a mafia role.

What am I reading here? Killing everyone is only possible if you don't work with anyone. You just let them kill each other, and pick off people who you think may be getting onto you. Sure you can work with people to protect yourself but not by telling them you're a SK, which is the issue at heart here.

Didn't realize River was going to drop the charade pretty fast, but yeah it doesn't make any sense for Serial Killer to work with us. To be honest it'd help us by getting rid of all the non contributors if they didn't hit mafia so we don't have a Lynn105/Horus repeat, god what a trainwreck.

Directly quoted from the rules.

"Play to win.

That said, you should try your best to help your team win while you are alive and in the game. However, this does not mean that you should try to win by being a jerk to the other players so they all want to quit playing.

This also means that you cannot leave the game without a good reason. These situations will be dealt with on a case by case basis. PM your host if you need to leave the game."

What's this got to do with anything exactly? Sure River might not always play to win, but she's better than being useless like a certain group of roleplayers.

And how was my plan on helping the town? If I wanted to test Kayla by roleclaiming SK to her, just to see if she'd roleclaim back to me, which I believe her direct quote was 'Don't waste a hit on me, because you'll be making a mistake' which would suggest she claimed as veteran, or maybe she fake claimed as vet so I (the supposed) SK wouldn't waste a kill on her.

and with me telling her that I wanted to help the town when I was 'SK', by eliminating mafia roles, then why the frick would you try to throw the person who roleclaimed as a SK under the bus, if that supposed SK knew that eventually they'd have to die, and wanted to help the town as long as they could.

So why would a supposed veteran throw somebody who roleclaimed that they wanted to help town as a SK under the bus so fast. Why not use that SK until you couldn't anymore and then sacrifice them.

Now now there's no need to get vexed beary, she was defending herself to my comment, like I did to kayla.

All we need to do is keep in mind what people say!

Why, thank you, for insulting my hobby!

Because you might not have a Vigilante to sacrifice them. What then?

Exactly what Penguin said.

Why not save that game plan til after the SK does what you want them to do then throw them under the bus and get them lynched.

I have nothing against roleplayers, especially if they're active like you and attempting to contribute. It's Hikari and Fireninja1 I have something against. Don't bloody sign up and do nothing the entire game.

Way to repeat things that multiple people have said already.

Beary: what were you trying to do by quoting the rules? Completely irrelevant, and you don't even comment on it.
