I think that the people we need to worry about is the players from previous mafia games. The more aggressive they are, it might possibly mean that they are scum. A lot of people roleclaim to Dwarf(I do the same), so it might be difficult. But that's the point of the game right? I probably just cited already known information, but hey?

I think we should keep an eye on Blu Rose. He seems aggressive this game.

My thoughts so far:

6 scum roles, only 5 scum players. I also think that having 4 or all 5 power scum roles would be a little much, so we're probably looking at a Godfather, roleblocker, framer and two goons. Naturally be wary of there being a suicide bomber and avoid stacking obvious actions on a single player.

Dolby is just trolling as usual, ignore him.

Quite the opposite really, scum tend to be scared of standing out, and there's nothing more obvious than being the outspoken person pointing fingers. Rather than looking at if they are aggressive or not, look at whether or not their behaviour has changed from previous games.

We need to keep the discussion going, but avoid the spammy one-liners that make up about 90% of this game so far. You have to pressure the scum into coming out and posting, as that's when they will start making mistakes. If nothing is being discussed, or the thread is being spammed to oblivion, there is little reason for mafia to be any different.

Okay, I agree with you here. Especially on the FireNinja part. I certainly hope that you're active in this game, FN, considering how you said you wanted to leave TBT. Hikari, I swear to god, if you're not active this game, I will do everything I can to try and get you banned from future games. Contribute, god damn it.

A good call. We did get in trouble Game I for roleplaying (remember our weapons? XD). Their conversation definitely looks a little fake. That said, it's beary, after all. And beary, no offense, but you kind of have a reputation of being silly. Blu Rose, I kind of have started to expect better from though.

We don't instantly trust each other based off of a roleclaim at the beginning of the game.
Like Lynn with game III, she roleclaimed Townie at the beginning, but turned out to be a Goon. Heck, this precise roleclaim could be either mine--or her--demise later on in the game. We know it is not roleplay, we're just adding a little... color, y'know? We'll stop now, nonetheless.

But, this is just my opinion on things, and, well, I'm not anyone else.

beary, I don't know if this is just a slip-up on your part, but you seem to be reiterating "dwarf" a lot. Two of your three posts here mention something about dwarves. I don't know if you're scum trying to convince yourself that you're a dwarf, or whether you just can't remember your role, but repeating it verbatim is a little odd.

Blu Rose, we know not to trust each other in the early part of the game, and you agree with this, but you definitely still seem to be sticking with beary. I mean, it's getting a lot closer to someone than I would have.

How do we want to get through Day One lynch? We can look at strong players, weaker players, inactives (I know many people strongly advise against this) & etc? I don't know if people are fed up with the whole "putting strong players in the spotlight". I just want to help the discussion a bit. :c

This is the first list I'll start off with, I guess. People often forget they are still playing. I know it's still very early & they can still change their posting habits. Neither am I suggesting that any of them get lynched on Day One. ~

If you guys want to start building a list of strong players to keep in the spotlight, I am completely up for it too. At this point I think the names are obvious enough though.


Veterans & Townies need to step up. I always say this, but I feel like people always need to be reminded. Everyone needs to be appearing blue/green to throw off & delay the Mafia as much as possible. Please do not be discouraged just because you got Veteran or Townie.

Now, I know what Kayla likes to play as. She likes being mafia, and being the veteran. She's happy with her role, which leads me to believe she's one of those two.
• KarlaKGB - Karla is a strong player. Of course we have to keep an eye on him. He basically destroyed mafia in game three.

Yeah, but you said it was scripted, but not planned. Which doesn't make sense, because in order to be scripted, some planning has to into it. You also said it wasn't fake, and scripts are fake.

I want to try and contribute more since I didn't get much of a chance last game. :c Anyways, I agree with Kayla. (Like always), putting the better players will hopefully get some discussions going. One I would say is SP: He seemed ready to pounce on someone (Beary and Blu Rose) I know this isn't much, and I don't really think anything of it, but I'm putting it out there anyways.

I am going to vote for no lynch unless there is good evidence against the accused. This is because if a mafia member gets accused the town will be gently steered away from that person.

If I recall correctly, one of the major tells of someone being scum in IRC mafia is that they tend to start the "no lynch" vote. Now, I know this is two different mediums of playing the game, but Dolby, you're the first vote. I've got to take this under scrutiny.

In all honestly though, I recommend keeping a close watch on lurkers. It's pretty obvious that the mafia will try to hide from us, and we don't want to risk lurking mafia killing anyone.

I feel like it would be a waste at this stage to say they're worth investigating simply because of their conversation. Blu Rose was clearly imitating iLoveYou's play style (which is something he started doing after her death in Mafia IV) but the game hadn't even started yet. If anyone thinks there is anything worth investigating in that post, then I think it would be best to do so using words rather than wasting a night action on it. Unless, of course, by the end of Day 1 we have an actual reason to pursue her (and/or Blu Rose).

I think it's all fair that we either lynch Dolby or go to no lynching. Dolby could be messing around aka trolling, but maybe he's putting himself up. He could be scum. This is just my gut feeling. It's pretty difficult to decide considering we no evidence to go with and the post quality from others are practically the only thing that we can anaylse for deciding which person is scum on Day 1.

I was the one who suggested we include Unlynchable & Town Reviver to Gandalf. C: I love those roles, and they're what I really wanted this game. I also really enjoy being Townie because I can just post freely without worrying about dying and having the Town lose out on something important. There's a lot of roles that I like, not just Mafia & Veteran. My dream role would be to get Veteran in one of these games though.

Gee, thanks captain obvious. I can't tell if you've made this post simply because you're busy playing Rust and needed a filler post in the thread to avoid modkill or because you're Mafia. Your post is pro-town but really doesn't provide anything to the thread that we didn't already know.
