tell me about your pets !

Jojo is a Jack Russell and rat terrier mix, I think. She's about 15 years old and pretty dumb. And annoying. But she's lucky she's cute.

Ash and Alaina are both calico kittens and 7 months old. Ash has a couple spots on her head, back, and tail, and is very calm and easily scared. Alaina is covered with spots and has lots of energy, constantly playing and running everywhere. Kind of a troublemaker.

Julius, Cleo, Nero, and Touta are my sister's parakeets. They are very loud. Also Julius and Cleo love each other.

This is Keagan! He’s a chocolate lab. He’s a good boy mostly. 😬😁

I have a Shar Pei, she's 6 years old now which makes me sad since lifespan is generally 8-12 years. Feels like just yesterday we brought her home. She's in good health for the most part but does have the typical pei ailments especially since she's very wrinkly (allergies, swollen hock which affects their liver over time).
She's very intelligent and my lil shadow wherever I go.

I've had my dog for 2 weeks now.
His name is melchi (mel key) and he's is nearly 6 months old.
He is a cross between an akita and a German shepard.
He is a lovely and sweet boy.

He also doesn't understand that we are not dogs and so can't bite our hands and arms.
I'm covered in bruises.
Going to see a trainer soon.

But despite the domestic violence towards us, he's a great doggy and I love him so much.

I've definitely talked about my pets on here before but hey, don't mind doing it again : )

I've had Pogo for around 14 years (his birthday is coming up very soon!), we got him at a Petsmart store. Originally we wanted a white cat but they jumped out of their cage and run throughout the store so we couldn't have that, but my brother noticed Pogo and he was already being such a sweetheart to my brother, so we decided to take him out of his cage and he was MUCH more well-behaved, and he's super pretty too. So we got him and I distinctly remember him not liking the box he was in, so we let him lay down in the middle seat of the back of my mom's car (while me and my brother were both basically shielding him so he wouldn't move around much), then we brought him home and the rest is history! He's been a great cat, he used to be an outdoors cat that would hunt sometimes but with him getting older, he just prefers to sleep and meow at people a lot now.

Dweezil was a cat I had from 2010-2018, us getting him was a complete surprise as one day my mom just came home with him. Apparently, the story was that one of her friends' cats had kittens and they didn't want all of them, so my mom volunteered to take Dweezil home (originally he was just named "Cat"). He unfortunately wasn't as well behaved as Pogo (especially when he was younger) and the two used to fight a lot, but eventually they would just play around and lay with each other, it was very cute. Dweezil eventually became much nicer and loved attention, however he still bit me much more than Pogo ever would, and he liked doing his business in my bed a lot which is sadly the reason I no longer have him, when moving to another house the landlord of the new place basically said he wouldn't want a cat like that living in the house, so he was given to a friend of my mom's. I've heard he's still doing well, but his peeing problem hasn't stopped.

Freja was a dog I had from 2010-2018 as well. We got her as basically a therapy dog for me from a local animal rescue shelter, the story was that I was nearly killed by a dog a few months prior to us getting her (I was only in 1st grade, I was not big at all and a dog attacked me to the point where I had to go to the ER and get surgery, I don't remember many of the details) so I wouldn't be scared of dogs anymore. That definitely worked, as I love dogs and Freja was a great dog. She loved to play around with people, she always enjoyed getting attention, and she didn't bark for no reason like some dogs do, and she was almost always smiling like she is in the picture. She never attacked anybody despite the untrue stereotype of pitbulls as well, I hate that some people still think that pitbulls are just "killers" when they are the furthest thing from that. Unfortunately, she passed away pretty soon after my mom moved into her current house because freja was having health problems, I don't remember exactly what it was but I do know she got lyme disease at a point, so that may have been a contributor. I still miss her to this day, but I'm glad she's not suffering like she was in her last few months of life, she was around 11 when she passed (we didn't get her as a puppy).

I have a black cat named Zoey as well!

She’s 12 and was a foster fail. ❤

And here’s my other kitty, Felix:

He’s ~5 or 6. He was found wandering the parking lot at my apartment complex in the middle of July. :( He was already fixed, but no one came forward for him, nor were there any missing posts for him, so I think he was likely dumped when his previous owner(s) moved out.

bumping this thread in memory of my cat bella. she passed away this september 💜

I have a beagle name Louie and she's 6 years old now 🥺

Here are my two baby loafs, Louie and Cat (Goyangi). My calico cuties!!

We got louie in 2015? She's a big sweetie. Loves belly rubs. Will do anything for food (a chonk) I can make 3 new beagles with all the fur she sheds every day. Her favourite thing to do is ruin a freshly made bed.

Cat was a stray that roamed around my office back in April. My coworker who lived in the office took her in, so she became the "office cat"/his cat. Later we found out she was pregnant and she gave birth to three kitties. Months later my coworker quit and moved back to Korea but was only able to take the kittens with him, so the cat stayed in the office alone for a while. We eventually moved out of there to another building so I decided to take her home with me. I was initially hesitant because of Louie who hates cats, but after working on their friendship for several months they are finally sorta chill!!! Very awkward around each other still but they both love being near me so they are currently putting up with each other. I think my cat realised pretty quickly that all my dog likes to do is eat and sleep and my dog also appreciates that my cat doesn't try to mess with her ears or bother her, like the dogs she meets on walks. I noticed my dog doesn't chase outdoor cats as much anymore. Hopefully they become actual friends hehe... cat entering my life has been a fun time. I was thinking of renaming her but we've all just been calling her "goyangi" or "nyangi" in Korean since April so I guess that's just her name now.

Also I only realised after cat moved in that they are literally the exact same colouring. It's meant to be.

i’ve been avoiding looking at and posting in this thread for months now since my sweet zeva from my previous post passed away back in november. my family and i adopted two kittens that same month, but i’ve yet to post them in here because doing so somehow felt like i would be replacing zeva, and one of them unfortunately passed away from FIP back in february. ...yeah, it’s been a rough several months lol.

however, i think i’m finally ready to post my baby, so… for those of you who haven’t already, meet alize. 🖤

alize is almost 8-months-old and she is absolutely insane lmao. she’s calmed down a bit since we first brought her home, but she’s a rangy little girl at heart. she’s almost always bouncing off the walls, our furniture, her cat tree, etc. her absolute favourite toys are her springies, and you’ll often see her running around with one in her mouth. she likes to hide them underneath the couch as well, and she’ll even occasionally play fetch with us (we’ll throw a springy and she’ll return it to our… general vicinity lol)! she trills more than she meows, but both sounds are absolutely precious and warm my heart. to wake me up in the mornings, my dad will open my bedroom door to let her in, and she’ll jump on me + cuddle with me for a few minutes before leaving. she’s the biggest cuddle-bug i’ve ever met, and she’s more than happy to lay on my lap or in-between my legs for hours at a time. she loves having her belly rubbed, but absolutely hates being picked up or kissed. she lets me kiss her sometimes, though. her purr is much bigger than she is, but i love it, and her, so much. she also loves watching this mice video on either the tv or my mom’s tablet. she’ll pounce at, chirp at and whack at the mice for a while before they inevitably make her fall asleep LOL. she’s a curious and brave girl, and she adapted to her new home rather quickly. it took her sister a few days to warm up to us, whereas alize and i were cuddling less than 24 hours after we first met. i also have this noise that i make whenever i see or pet her. i have no idea how to put the noise into words, but she responds to it more than her literal name. 🤣

i’m probably forgetting a lot of details since alize has a lot of personality and little quirks. i never thought i’d love another cat again after zeva, but even though it took me a while to get to this point, i love her to pieces despite how annoying she can be. i miss zeva and the bond we had so much all the time, and alize will never be able to replace her… but nobody will ever be able to replace alize, either. she and i have a different bond than the one zeva and i had; zeva and i shielded each other from the anxiety of our parents yelling, and alize and i bonded over the fact that sometimes, our personalities are too much for people. they both mean the world to me, and i can’t imagine life without alize now. i love her so, so much and am so grateful to her for making my grief — and the last 4 months in general — somewhat bearable.

mazikeen was my mother’s cat, and alize’s sister who passed away from FIP. not only did she look completely different than her sister, but she acted different as well. she was much calmer, shyer and more anxious than alize, but she was just as sweet. whenever she wanted pets, food, etc, she would just sit at your feet and stare up at you politely. when being pet, she would often flop over at random and expose her belly, and she would also rub up against your hand and legs, and knock her tail against any nearby walls. she never wanted to lay on your chest or lap while cuddling — she always wanted to lay on your neck or face. we sadly didn’t get a chance to bond as much as i would’ve liked to since alize took up all my time and attention, but i loved and miss her a lot. she was such a sweet angel, one who deserved to live a long, happy life and see her first birthday at least, but she was loved and will be missed always. ❤️

You all have such great and cute pets! I did not know about that Xara. I'm sorry that you had to go through that. It's a very hard thing to have to go through. I remember when my last cat passed away it was very rough. I actually didn't get another pet for many years after that. But, Alize is very pretty! I like the little blotch of black she has on her nose. She reminds me of one of my kittens when I was a baby. Thank you for sharing!

I don't know if I ever posted in a thread like this before, but after many years, I picked up a kitten last year and named her Penny. She is pretty energetic and not like a lot of the cats I know or have had that just likes to sleep all the time. She likes to go outside a lot and usually stays by the door and begs like you would expect a dog to do.

Lulu has since passed a week or so ago, but we still have Maybellene and Pippi.

Pippi is our third, orange cat, and she's a Hemingway cat (she has an extra toe/paw on each of her feet). She's so adorable. 🥺

I adopted a cat named Sambu last year. She is from Cairo - they have a lot of strays there, so I guess agencies in Canada take some of the load off

She only has one eye so everyone calls her the pirate kitty. Despite this she is pretty fearless and kicks up a lot of trouble. But she can also be so sweet and gentle at times. I call these her angel mode and devil mode

I have two cats!

The first one I got was a kitty named Mayday. We adopted her from a vet tech who rescued her. Shes insanely shy and nervous all the time, she tends to get panic attacks when she's freaked out and she starts wheezing :( Its so upsetting but there's nothing we can do except keep a calm, clean environment for her. Her wheezing has gotten better :) I adore her so much, she's so cute and she's got mesmerizing eyes which everyone who comes over talks about.

My other kitty is a really mean cat named Minmo. here's the thing: She is SO CUDDLY AND LOVABLE. In fact, she's cuddling with my boyfriend on the bed right now! She loves my boyfriend so much, he is HER HUMAN. She likes me too but she definitely loves him more. BUT, she bullies the HECK out of Mayday. The past owner of Minmo declawed her (which I do not approve or support of) so Minmo cant really "hurt" Mayday, but Mayday is still afraid of her. Minmo swats Mayday on the butt and she runs away scared  She's so mean, but so cuddly. I wish they got along, maybe eventually!

I also have a dog named Oscar! He's not technically "my dog" because he belongs to my Dad's GF, but she lives with us so i'm throwing it in here! He's a black lab, so so goofy but listens so well. He never runs far because he always comes back if you call him, he knows a ton of tricks, but he also loves to dance! If you put your arms above your head and wave them around he starts bouncing around and gets so excited. He's a big goof ball.
