The ACNH Rant Thread

Why does the Nook Shop upgrade have to be locked behind spending 200,000 bells at the shop? I've been stuck with the non-upgraded version for MONTHS now because I rarely visit the shop.

I am kinda fustrated how you need to bring a villager to the campsite three times in a row, and if you forget you're screwed if you're kinda doing it around the time a villager has asked to leave.
I was hoping to bring Robin to the campsite and be of use if my villager hunt doesn't go well tomorrow, but after coming home yesterday after 10PM I forgot to bring her on. 🥹

I broke all the rocks on my island in a fruit-fueled frenzy (try saying that five times fast!) and now I can't get any stone T-T

Another reason why I'm resetting...

I missed out on today's Fishing Tourney.

This is the second time already (The first time was probably a year ago by now). It's like I either lose access to my Switch or, if I still have it, I feel too burnt out during the last three months of the year. I know there's always next time, but still. :\

Also thinking about flattening and redoing my island in the hopes that it could get me back into playing, but I only have so much time to plan everything out beforehand.

I wish they included more features that were there in new leaf I feel like new leaf had more to do, and i wish there was more furniture, they should have included stuff from pocket camp because the furniture and clothes in that game are amazing, I also wish the villagers felt more unique? They used to feel a little more different even in the same personality type, especially in older ones like wild world. The dialogue kinda lacks as much character now and the personality types don't feel as different from each other. I wish there was more to do, new leaf is probably my favorite game on the series and not new horizons because new horizons feels a bit empty compared to it. I still love new horizons but it could have been better imo.

i like using weeds for decor (and lord knows this game needs more items) but i hate that the weeds keep growing. i had some stage 1 weeds in my park area but one day i saw they had grown and it didnt fit the vibe anymore. apparently once you hit 150, the weeds stop spawning and stop growing. i'm planning on making a forest area with loads of weeds and it's going to be complicated trying to decorate with them... maybe i should've done my forest area first since its going to take a lot of planning and days of growing trying to get everything just right but almost everywhere else is more structured and i wanted my forest to be natural looking. also i want to plan out the rock placement and that's going to be another frustrating task.

Kinda meh on my island right now. Just finished doing the first houses and I’m really limited to what I can do right now. I know it’s my own fault for resetting but I’m really misssing having terraforming available cause I already have ideas and I’m not quite there yet in the game and I’m just ugh.

It took me sooo long to get Apple to move in from my campsite. I couldn't seem to win a game with her for nothing. FINALLY she just decided to move in. A couple of weeks later, she wants to move out. Lol. I made her stay. That will teach her.

Wow she took a fight to move in and then wants to leave. Some on girl no.

Ok I’m going to try and be nice here. I had just recently restarted my island and got a pretty awesome map, got some items and recipes from people here, got perfect villagers, and had a good time playing.

However when I unlocked terraforming…I was doing a few days at a time to get there…once I started to work on my entrance area I found out that the space between the airport and the resident services was just shy of what I needed.

Now that pissed me off. I had big ideas…planned out and everything. It just made me so frustrated with the game so I deleted it again. I hate looking at something and know it’s not what I really wanted.

Well I’m now in the process of getting a new map and hopefully get it right this time.

Sigh. I know it’s not the games fault but I just had to get this off my chest.

Really wish we had a search bar for our inventory/storage. I get so frustrated trying to sift through everything to find a specific item, and I've more often than not missed what I was looking for on the first go. Just feels like a time waster.

Wish the game would push me two millimeters back instead of telling me I can't place anything there. Yes I can! Push me back! Why do I have to click, back up and try again? T^T

While I haven't played for quite a while (and have thought about restarting my island anyway), I really wish that so many items (and features) from older games wouldn't have been cut, and that maybe some of the items from Pocket Camp would've been ported over. I started hitting a snag with designing my island where I had a theme in mind (Japanese-themed village), and kept wishing that I had access to some of the public works projects in New Leaf (zen clock, zen bell, town hall and station reconstructions...). I also would've gladly incorporated some of what got added to Pocket Camp, but unfortunately...

I hate my luck in this game. After spending like 15 NMTs i get BAROLD.
I just shut down my Switch the moment I saw him.
He's literally so ugly.

Needing a lot of a nook miles redemption item in a color different from your default is so unnecessarily involved. First you order through which has a bit of dialog but it adds up when you need to order like 30. Then they limit you to 5 a day. Thank god I time travel because if I had to wait 1 day at a time, I'd go even more crazy. Then you have to fly to Harv's island to get Cyrus to customize it and he has even longer dialog. And a loading screen for when he's completing the job. And does he let you customize more than 1 thing at a time? Nope. He even ends the conversation so you have to start over from the beginning each time, unlike when you customize on a DIY station. And the prices aren't cheap so after some items, you run out of bells and have to use the ABD. And I remember when these used to be locked completely and the only way to get other colors was to trade with someone. What was the point of that, other than to force us to get a Nintendo online sub

[edit]
Forgot to add that they come in letters, not delivery like from Nook's so you have to "read" each letter before you can grab the item, and then you have to delete the letter and open the package!

when you want to move a building one space over and the game won't let you. "there's a building in the way" yeah the building i'm trying to move! so you have to find space on another part of your island that's has enough tiles and no overlap with the current location and then relocate again on a later day to get it to where you wanted it. arghhhhhhhhhhh
