The Bell Tree Forums or Animal Crossing Community?

I'm here because I got banned on ACC 2 times. Its way better here.

I'm never going back.

I tried out the ACC in the past. Nothing against them, but that layout is like, painful.

I, too, tried out ACC in the past. I think I only made one friend there (A gaming mom with a Triforce tattoo) and was also directed over to a livestream of New Leaf on the release date when it came out in Japan. But yeah, the mods are brutally strict. I asked for people to pray for my mom who was on her deathbed back in 2012, and I got flagged for it. (Or whatever the term is.)

At least the people here are kind-hearted and lovely. I had a more lovable experience here than there, to be honest. You had to talk like it was the 1950's to avoid pissing off the mods...

I've tried out both and prefer TBT. Not only does TBT have a prettier layout but it's also way easier to navigate. I never learned my way around ACC despite using it for months. Another thing that bothered me was how inconvenient it was having to request friend codes if you wanted to trade. TBT is more active too so there's more going on here. And let's not forget about all the fun site events that TBT has! Gotta love them.

I have never had an ACC account, so everything I know about it is from other people. General consensus seems to be that it is not very good, but that could just be because we are on TBT.

That being said I truly love this forum. I have met some amazing people through here, and am very thankful that I made an account. I have only had 1 or 2 slightly negative experiences with other members, but overall it has been great! Everyone is very friendly and the community is pretty active! I definitely enjoy being here! ^-^

I feel like ACC is kinda infamous so I decided to go look at it

All I can say is...the whole design of the website hurts me
IT'S P A I N F U L

I've never been a part of ACC but if I can't even stand to look at the site then I won't get any enjoyment out of it so.

Seriously it's atrocious.

I use both.
I prefer it here honestly, but I have friends on ACC which is why I still go there. However, this site is definitely better-looking visually. I actually first visited both sites the same year-2010-but I didn't join ACC until 2013 and here until 2014.

Never heard of the ACC, but I did a one point use AC Reddit. Let's just say they aren't too fond of us TBT users.

I never joined that site. I prefer this site a lot more and it's really the only ac forum I've joined up to this day.

Back in 2009, I joined Animal Crossing Community, so I could find high turnip prices while Animal Crossing: City Folk was still the latest installment of its franchise. And hoo boy, it hasn't aged gracefully.

Looking at ACC right now, I wonder how I managed to cope with such a convoluted and dated user interface. The text's so small you need to zoom-in further if you don't want to strain your eyes, and the way you deal with Friend Codes and NNIDs is clumsily clunky. If you want to navigate this site with any mobile device, you'll inevitably have to scroll from all 4 sides and zoom in and out accordingly, something that will easily turn off the vast majority of its users away. ACC had plenty of staff members improving the website bit by bit, but why didn't they bother remaking the website from the ground-up? They would more likely improve the site as whole by a significant margin and make the website even easier to manage for them.

The community in there isn't much better. Although I've made some friends there, the rest of the community is rather toxic due of a combination of allowing users who's under 13 years old to post in ACC, and enforcing nanny-state strict level of moderation ? la Miiverse Admins. I haven't suffered from it that much, but I've certainly heard plenty of stories of perfectly sane users encountering these issues.

The Bell Tree Forums has practically none of the issues that plagued ACC. The user interface is clean and is far less maze-like, although the responsive interface could've been better implemented than it currently is. And the community is far more warming, despite the occasional bad apples. It looks like that the community is going to stay awesome for years to come!

Ehh, it's really crappy imo. If I recall, there's a daily post limit (maybe I'm mistaking this with something else, IDK), not really but slightly inactive, an eyesore, you can't even pick your own avatar!

I didn't really know ACC was a thing (I assumed from the title that ACC was a potential 'other' name or former name for this place); but I don't really see a need for anywhere other than here for the most part. Tumblr and reddit can be helpful occasionally, but there's a lot of active and intense Animal Crossing players that frequent as well as enjoy this forum, so there are many opportunities to get something you want or some kind of help you need. I've successfully reset my town twice thanks to the help of people on here, I had a lot of things to save and I feel pretty fortunate that there's so many cool people here who just genuinely like helping other people enjoy Animal Crossing; I don't see much need for trolling or conflict in that kind of environment, and I certainly don't see much need for another forum. I don't know much about it myself but when the first post lists such awful things for a game community to have right off the bat, I'm pretty gratetful I found this place first and haven't had to have any bad experiences...
Those things aside, this site is almost always well-functioning and user-friendly.

I joined it when NL was released, and I pretty much almost got scammed since I was buying a rare in the game for almost double its worth, in the end I never went through with it and the rules were really strict, it just wasn't a very nice community to be apart in so I moved over to TBT. Not to mention I was getting a villager off of someone and they were INCREDIBLY unreliable.

This what the first forum I looked up for animal crossing when searching for people to play with, I was afraid of running into trolls, but this forum was instantly very welcoming and friendly. I've only ran into 1 troll so far, and maybe a few unwanted spats (really nothing serious), but this is definitely way, way better than any other forum lol

Animal Crossing Community is absolutely horrible. The rules are super strict. They've lied about the bell shop. They made an awful, 100% believeable joke about an admin leaving ACC. They made it sound very honest, so when I found out it was a joke over a year later, I felt like that was very cruel.

The FC system is outdated. It was understandable back in 2006, but now it's tedious.

Most of the "community" is mean or unlikeable. There is too much staff, so the place is pretty unorganized. The place is badly moderated, and the staff do not seem to take their job seriously. When they're not making an announcement about something pointless or a feature being delayed, they're making a joke about food. You'd think as adults, they would have a balance between sillyness, and seriousness.

Most of the members could not take a lighthearted joke I made, or would think an important statement I made was a joke.

Oh, and I got banned there despite getting no notifications at that time. The staff apparently thought I needed a "cooling off period". A cooling off period is not two weeks. Obviously I got permanently banned there afterwards for making a new account, to get in contact with the few friends I had there.

The one reason I joined TBT was to escape from ACC. This place is so much better. This is probably the best Christmas present I got that year.
