Getting the villager you want is only half of the trouble. The other half is convincing them to move in. (I spent at least 30,000 bells and 40 minutes trying to persuade Savannah to move in. I failed..)

A nice tip is to empty out your pockets and bells before trying. at least it works for me, they want to do more moving in games that way

Really?
I always get them in 1-3 tries lol, if they say that they?re too attached to their own town, I just leave the tent and enter again, and usually they will agree to move in right after, if you can win in rock paper scissor.

Could you also make a video on how to kick out a villager using the 2 days forward 2 days back time travelling method?
Thank you

This isn't a video, but I can type out this method for you.

--------
STEP ONE:
- Time travel two days forward. (You can do this through the system menu, or by talking to Isabelle when you log in to your mayor.)
- Walk around your town and find your villagers. ONLY the ones that are outside, don't worry about the ones in buildings. (There's a max of 5 out at any given time.)
- See if any of them "ping" you, where they do the !!! emote and want to talk to you. (This is usually the one that wants to move.)
- If they don't ping you, talk to them anyway. They will tell you if another villager that isn't outside wants to move.

- If someone wants to move, save and exit, then time travel to the date they told you. They'll be all boxed up!
- If no one wants to move, save and exit, continue to step two.

STEP TWO:
- Time travel two days backwards.
- Repeat the process of walking around and talking to villagers until someone pings you.

- If someone wants to move, save, exit, time travel, etc.
- If no one wants to move, save, exit, repeat from step one.

Keep doing that over and over and you'll get move requests pretty regularly. :) Although, speaking from personal experience, some villagers can be VERY stubborn and it may take hours of trying before they want to move.

Note that this is totally random! Ignoring or abusing a neighbor doesn't make them want to move any faster, haha.

It also helps enormously to have the Keep Town Beautiful ordinance in effect when you do this.

Thank you for writing that all out! I'm thinking about starting to TT to get villagers to move out faster (when I don't have turnips). Will a new villager always move in after one moves out?

No problem!

And that depends on the number of villagers you have.

10 - No one will try to move in, and you can't invite villagers from the campsite or others' towns. You're full!
9 - No one will try to move in, but you CAN invite villagers. The last (10th) villager slot is always reserved for that.
1-8 - A villager will definitely be trying to move in. You can still invite them from elsewhere, too.

It could be that you had street passed someone who had Moose that was moving. This has happened to me on several occasions. It's pretty weird.
