Yes you could. The longest I bothered to try for was 3 hours but you might have more patience, lol.

Olivia is being a meanie! She refuses to move into the spot I made for her!

KEEP TRYING!... omg whitney kept trying to move into my garden.... 4 times in a row.

I already played today, so I can?t make a video, I might make one tomorow.
Anyways here?s the steps.
also as I said earlier make sure you haven?t played the game yet that day.
1. Click on "Create new character"
2. finish the setup
3. when you get off the train go to the camp
3a. if there?s no camper or a camper you don?t like then press the home button on your 3DS, close Animal Crossing, and open it again and repeat step 1-3 again until you get to step 3b
3b. if there?s someone in the camp that you like, go to Isabelle and continue the setup, until you get a home and can save.
4. Save the game
5. Start the game with your new character, before you enter the town ask Isabelle for help, tell her that you want to Demolish your Home. after that she will remove the new character.
6. Enter the game with your Main character, go to the camp, and convince the camper to move in.

hey guys!! i was supposed to be trading friga for a villager on my dream list, but unfortunately the trade fell through. frigas all packed up and ready to go, though, so i was hoping someone was interested in taking her off my hands sometime today? thanks in advance!

Or have a villager you don't even want ::ahem, Melba:: move basically on top of your house! I need to get a screenshot of it, it's truly obnoxious.

Well I just told Drago he couldn't leave, TT'd 2 days back, and immediately had to shackle Fauna to a lamp post to get her from leaving, so if anyone else was interested in the answer to my previous question, we at least know that 2 days back will suffice. xD

I haven't noticed it taking any longer to get another villager to move after you turn down one, or one refuses. But I do know it takes a while before that animal will want to move again.

WELL this rule either doesn't apply to my town, or there's a thing in the game where they can try again if it's the same day as before or something. I TT'd to the following days in this order and had these results.

Aug 6: Drago asks to move. I refuse.
Aug 4: Fauna asks to move. I refuse.
Aug 2: No one asks to move. No villagers hear rumors.
Aug 4: Fauna asks to move again.
