The Villager Giveaway Thread!

Hopefully everyone will make a "seeking" thread and just update it and link it in their sigs instead of always posting now xD (Kinda like shops I guess!)

I hope not. It's my home base for giving my villagers away. I really don't want to have to make a new thread every time a village is moving.

Welp why else would the sub forum be created if they're just going to move the same spam ful threads? If they delete this, I'm just going to make my own giveaway shop or erm charity. Foster home, I dunno.

This is basically the idea. Rather than having villagers waiting to be given away hidden away in a thread where there's 20 other conversations going on a the same time, they can have their own thread.

I'll mention that this is just a test run though. If it doesn't work out, we can simply go back to our current mega threads.

I've only used TTing as a method to get villagers out, I know that works really well if your safe about it (talking to your loved villagers every day multiple times) :/

I am trying but it is a much slower process. -_- Especially since only normal villagers are up at 6 AM and Tangy is a peppy, lol.

If they genuinely have 20 villagers to give away, and are posting them in the correct board, I see no problem.

I envisioned it as the first method. I'm open to discussion though if the other way is preferred.

I feel like it would create the same issue as what we have right now, if even worse. Having to constantly refresh multiple ambiguously titled threads to see if they have a villager you want. If everything is individual, you can refresh the board index and look for threads to pop up that you want.

Makes sense to me. Will people be allowed to post "looking for" threads in there as well? And will people be able to post animals they're selling/trading or will only giveaway posts be allowed there? I feel like it would get really crowded if people make a new thread for every villager they're looking for.

I think it would work pretty much the same way this thread works. If you have a bunch of people, it'd be nice to put it altogether. If you're only giving away 1 villager, then that's what you do.

If people post a bunch individually, as long as they're not bumping the threads like crazy, it should be ok

Putting the names of villagers in the title helps with the trading, though

You do have a point there. Maybe a way to fix it is to have the current animal being given away edited into the thread title so the individual threads don't need to be refreshed. I don't know if such a rule can be enforced though.

I think its such a good idea
villagers get lost in this thread, and it sucks when you spot a villager you wanted 2 pages back, and they're gone by the time you check, or having to trawl through posts, to find a villager
